I am an Air Force veteran, and Farley treated me very good. Some places don't care about veterans. I went to see him about what sounded like a blown valve, gasket, or spark plug in my engine. It sounded terrible. He could not do the work himself, but kindly referred me to a good friend of his who has a machine shop in Clovis. I didn't get any repairs or anything done. I had my car towed here because of the outdated reviews that I didn't notice until it was too late and besides not many places are open on Saturday. But the $140 diagnostic test that took longer than an hours was too much for me. I got my car towed to Midas who charged $99.99 or free if they couldn't figure it out. So better deal. read more

I called a lot of auto repair shops here in Fresno/ Clovis for the installation of my K&N air filter for my Lexus RC F. Most shops they wanted $10 to $45 to install the air filter. I haven't called CT Auto in Fresno before and they blew the competition away. I spoke to Tom and I said I need to have my air filter replaced and how much do you guys charge? He's response was nothing I'll help you put it on for free. I was very impressed and amazed because most shops 99% of the times they want some kind of Labor fee for putting or installing something. CT auto it's like Les Schawb doing the right thing for customers and outstanding service. It took Tom less than 2 mins to install my air filter, I notice a lot of difference when you put a K&N filter in versus the factory one. I only went in to have a flat tire fixed.... I was there for exactly one hour, to plug a tire?!!! I did ask questions about repairs as my car needs them. I was quoted a lot more than other places, the girl acknowledged that they do charge more than others but says that they do a good job. Another thing, they will charge you to check/diagnose the car and they will not apply that amount towards fixing it, it's totally separate charges which is not good because all the other repair shops do apply the diagnostic charge towards fixing. The girl at the front desk was very nice and polite, this place is not for me. read more

This is a decent place that does decent work. The hourly shop rate is almost the same as some dealerships wich is crazy. Better off in that case going to your dealership but who wants to pay that much for simple work. All in all an ok shop but too pricey for the quality of work your getting. I would recommend coming in for simple automotive stuff like tune ups or oil changes. read more

I have been going to Farley and his team for the last five years since I have moved to Fresno. When you move to a new city and you don't know any mechanics to trust sometimes it could be a little stressful. Farley has made myself and my family feel very comfortable bringing all of our automobiles to them. They've done from oil changes to major engine repairs on our vehicles and have always done a fabulous job. I want to thank Farley and his team for always taking good care our family. I would recommend them to anyone for any type of vehicle repair not only do they look at what needs to be done on the car that you've requested but they will also do a full inspection on your car and let you know if there's any other issues going on with the car and not try to overwhelm you but explain what is needed. When I brought my daughter's first Used car a few years ago they did a thorough inspection and told me that the car was in great shape and then it was a goodbye. That made me feel very good about my purchase. And then I continue to service that car for the last three years I was able to sell that car for very good price because it was in such amazing condition. I had taken my Passat there didn't know what was wrong it. They said it was the motor mounts so they put in new ones. I went to pick up my car I got they gave me there papers with thing they said need to be fixed like thermostat and thermostat housing also intercooler line for the turbo and some other things. The price of all was $3900 very high . the guys that work there and the owner seem like nice guys. So my buddy works for Volkswagen and I usually have him work on my car but he said he could get me a discount and just drop it off there at the shop and the other more advanced technicians will take a look at it and not one thing that CT auto said was wrong with it needed to be replaced. I am not getting paid for this testimonial nor am I getting any special benefits, his work, timing and customer service sold me. I needed a timing belt replaced for my truck, I called 3 places before I called CT Auto repair. (Bingham Toyota/Firestone/PepBoys) then I called CT Auto repair, without mentioning the price of the quotes from the other guys his quote was $140 less than the cheapest quote. Also, he said it would only take a few hours no need to leave the car for next day service(like the other guys). Not only did he replace the Timing Belt, but he replaced the Alternator belt, Power Steering Pump Belt and the AC Compressor belt with Factory Toyota OEM parts. I dropped off the car this morning @ 7:45am and it was finished @Noon. They offer a shuttle service from their shop to your house and back to pick up your car FREE of charge( which I used ). Did I mention they've been doing this for 30+ years? This is the least I can do for them, the owners name is Farely(really chill, nice and down to earth dude). Their # is (559)264-3065 and they are located at the corner of Fresno/McKinely. They are right next to Arco Gas Station on McKinley. If your car is giving you problems, just call them. Took my car to Firestone for an oil change and asked them about a sound I was hearing, they told me my transmission fluid was low because of a leak but they couldn't diagnose it any further. After paying about $100 for that diagnosis, I called a bunch of places around town who wanted similar amounts to diagnose before giving me an estimate on repairs. When I called CT Auto the man I spoke with told me they would do the diagnosis for FREE. I was ecstatic. The repair cost ended up being less than any of the other shops' diagnostic price!! It's been a few months now and the repair has held up great. I will be taking my car there in the future, as well as recommending the shop to others. read more

Other reviews mentioned a no cost diagnostic. This is false My fiancé took our car in to this place about a month ago. Charged her $90 bucks for a diagnostic which revealed nothing wrong except the gas cap to the gas tank was not tightened all the way. Nothing else was wrong with the car other than low AC fluid which we knew about and told them to replace when she dropped off the car. They charged another $95 bucks for the AC. It's a business. I get it. But you could knock a few bucks off when we are hiring you to do something else to the vehicle and the diagnostic reveals nothing wrong with the car. In all fairness, this place is highly recommended by a friend of mine, and the car has been fine since then. But we won't be returning. read more

Farley and his crew are great. I took my Mercedes E350 in for repair after being told by Mercedes that I needed major suspension work. The front end felt loose and the car was vibrating at higher speeds. Not wanting to pay dealership prices, I found CT Automotive on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I went in on a Monday morning and was able to get right in. After a few hours, Farley called me and told me, I merely needed 2 new tires, an alignment, and balancing. Total cost: under $600. He could have easily done the suspension work Mercedes had suggested and made much more money (thousands more), but instead he was honest, and recommended only the work the vehicle truly needed. Honest mechanics are getting harder and harder to find. He and his staff are knowledgeable and because of his honesty, he has made me a faithful customer. read more

Honest mechanics are as hard to find as honest lawyers. Can't help you with the lawyers, but this shop is awesome. We took our car in with some very odd a/c issues and they took a look and gave us a great report on what they found. They only charged us a minimal fee and fortunately we found out it was still under warranty. I would definitely take my cars here again! read more

CT Auto Repair did a super evaluation job for a very reasonable fee ... decision made to junk...gasket was blown. After CT Auto's review I felt assured that we had the real "story" on truck's disrepair. CT offered to pay cash to the tow truck on my behalf and put it on my Master Card... a HUGE convenience factor as tow truck didn't acccept MC. I feel blessed to have found these folks. read more

This is a great place to fix your vehicle. I found them form Yelp too. Thor and his team is cool guys !! They are honest people. We had problem with A/C in our GMC truck. At first, They fixed it and changed something ( I don't know much about technical term , motor or something like that lol) Anyway, it worked for couple days then A/C stop working again. We called him and turned the truck in. They checked again and found out the switch board is not working! They fixed it and charge reasonable price. Again, it worked for couple days then stop. We had to go there 5 times totally. He still have a smile on his face and willing to find out what happened every times. The last couple time he didn't charge for anything at all. I like what he said.. " It's too easy to give up " . We are super happy to know him. Now he is one of our friend. Also after he took the truck. I took my 2005 Dodge Neon to CT Auto after calling them for an estimate on replacing the heating core in my car. Initially, I decided to go with them simply because they offered the lowest estimate ($760 for labor and parts), but by the time I got my car back I was very satisfied, not just with the price, but with the quality of service. I can't express how awesome their customer service is. Everyone that I encountered there was very personable, yet professional. I mostly talked with Thor (awesome name, right?) who was very down to earth but who also knew his stuff and was genuinely courteous and polite. He was honest about how long it would take (1-2 days) for my car to be done, and he just really helped me to understand what exactly was wrong with my car and why it would take to so long to repair. I've taken my car to other places where they claimed it would take a few hours, and I didn't get my car back for almost a week! It just really helped to know, HONESTLY, how long it would probably take so I could make proper arrangements in regards to transportation. As promised, my car was ready about 2 days later, and the total came out to be exactly what was estimated. I really appreciated that they didn't try to stiff me or take advantage of me by attempting to add on additional "necessary" repairs like other repair shops do. They did exactly what I asked them to do, and my car has been running perfectly ever since.
