I just had an experience I want to share. It might prove valuable to you. A heavy book fell from a shelf onto my laptop computer and made it totally inoperable. I went to Best Buy near South Coast Plaza. After leaving my computer for evaluation, I returned to Best Buy the next day. I was told that my hard drive had been broken by that falling book ... and all my files were lost. If I was willing to spend $500 and WAIT 2 MONTHS (!) while it was shipped out, a best-effort would be made. But Best Buy told me that my files probably couldn't be retrieved because there was no "spinning sound" heard from inside the hard drive. I decided to do some research. I went to JM-InfoTechs in Costa Mesa and met Jeff, the owner. I told him that my chief hope was to recover a lot of files I ignorantly had not saved. But I got much better results than that. After just 2 days and $300, I had: (1) all of my files retrieved from my wrecked equipment, (2) A new hard drive with ALL of my files installed, (3) a fully functioning, like-new computer. WOW, a much better outcome than having to buy a new computer for $800 plus tax AND spending weeks trying to re-create important information. I learned that Jeff has the knowledge and expensive diagnostic equipment, etc. to find and fix tough computer issues. His motive is not to sell you new equipment. Jeff deserves the highest possible recommendation that I can possibly provide. Quick, reasonably priced, and my laptop came back in even better condition. I have a work Laptop that suddenly got the blue screen of death. I've put it thru a lot and have travelled all over with it. I had no idea what was wrong with it. I took it to Jeff and he fixed everything super quickly and also did a lot of other maintenance to it, such as fixing heat sinks which I had no idea were loose. There was small issues like my mouse pad was out of alignment and some rubber trim pieces that were starting to come off. I didn't mention any of that to him or requested that he fix it. When I got the computer back, everything was fixed. It demonstrates true attention to detail. I feel like the computer is brand new. He also educated me on some other tips to prevent failure for the next time, which is getting better cooling. I'm a mechanical engineer myself and what he was telling me made a lot of sense. jM-InfoTechs have been very helpful for the past six months. Whenever we had issues with our laptops, they came right away and fix the problems. First time, we couldn't get on the Internet and our laptop was frozen. We use that laptop for playing Spotify. They came to our site very quickly and fixed it right away. Next time, we wanted to change the wireless security key on the AT&T U-Verse router. This time they not only came very quickly, they also brought a AT&T technician with them. I wen to this place to get my Lenovo laptop screen replaced. Jeff repaired the screen and did thorough testing. He found that one of the feature was not working, and he worked with Lenovo support team to troubleshoot to find that the new hardware has issues. He re-did the work with new screen and made sure that my laptop is fully functional before he handed over to me. Our boy decided to eat hot dog slices on our desk next to the printer. "Paper Jam" says our printer. So I do a search and see JM Info-Tech nearby with good reviews.
