If I could rate zero stars for J Mac plumbing and Steve, the manager, I would in a heartbeat. This company is a joke. He responds to my Yelp review but doesn't respond to my email? Yes, I called on a Sunday because it states on your website you have 24/7 service, and I left three messages with your answering service and nobody called back not even the plumber to say he was busy on another job and he was sorry, nothing. Yes, it was an emergency, the tankless water heater was leaking and not working so yes, we had to call another company that responded promptly Premier Plumbing, and they are wonderful and answer calls back. JMAC plumbing and Air I asked them in late October to schedule fall-winter service checks for both my rentals (prepaid for annual plan earlier in the spring) I was told they "weren't due until December" (what??) I told them it's cold already and people are beginning to use their heat. Then in a few days one tenant tells me they are scheduled for December 1 (what??). I then decided to cancel the November appointment scheduled for my personal residence because of 1) JMAC deciding when THEY wanted to schedule my tenants and 2) JMAC's annual plan fees (paid $169 for each rental for Spring & Fall service checks) to be very excessive compared to other offers. 3)I had discussed annual plan for my residence- which they quoted as $338 ($169x2) because my home has two units. I sent an email 1)cancelling my November appointment and any thoughts of the annual plan for my residence (because of costs) and notified them I would not be renewing annual plans (for next Spring-Fall 2024) for the two rentals. One tenant reported JMAC was a no-show/no call for their scheduled December 1 appointment! I emailed JMAC (via their website) twice over the Dec 2-3 weekend -- (Their website says their hours are 24/7). On Monday Dec 4 a call from JMAC was received (AT 7:30AM!?!?). They claimed I cancelled EVERYTHING. (What? And did I say to keep the change prepaid??) After restating what I had emailed, and their actual Re-reading my email, JMAC called it a "miscommunication". JMAC said they would contact tenants for scheduling "when they have time" (What??). I ended the call with "I hope it will be before next Spring!" It's too bad that this female employee's actions has reflected so negatively on the JMAC company name. read more

Had pipes making noise in attic. They came to check them out. Adjusted a valve to relieve the noise. Cool no more noise. However, later in the afternoon I realized my toilet wouldn't flush or refill. Called them to have a technician come out and readjust the valve. When speaking to the somewhat rude lady on phone. She said it would be a service charge. They also said the technician told me that would happen. Which is a complete lie. Why would I be ok if my toilet didn't work? So to be clear. They came to address an issue for noise. Made my toilet not work and wanted me to pay for them to come and make my toilet work again. So thanks for nothing JMAC. You're a joke!! read more

2/17/2023 job order 225493 I had a plumbing issue behind the sink wall where rats were biting pipes into causing water to over flow onto my kitchen floor. I cut the water valve for the time being. Benjamin Reyes arrived courteously and professionally. He updated me through every step of his work and asked for my approval. He personalized with me as if this was his home and what he would do to resolve the situation with the rodents. When the job was done, he checked to make sure that the home had l cold and hot water. The length of the job was performed in a timely manner and efficiently. The cost was fair and Benjamin Reyes just sold me on JMAC being my go to plumbing and air conditioning company. That's a big deal coming from me. I told Ben, I've called various other companies. Ima just be completely blunt so this isn't just another boring good review. Those other companies are cheaters. I'll start by saying about a year ago I contacted them about low water pressure and that I needed help adjusting the valve. Instead of taking advantage of me for a simple task, they emailed me and walked me through doing it myself and if I wasn't comfortable with it, they'd happily send someone out. I mean... who does that? So my faith in them being a decent group of people who wouldn't rip me off was already sky high. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I had a leaky pipe in my garage. Called em up, they were pretty busy but had an early morning time slot the next day. Todd showed up on time and got right to work. Dude knew his stuff. Had it fixed and ready to go. He said that since I was billed for an hour anyway, he noticed my side faucet was faulty (it shot more water around the hose than in it... it sucked). Small charge for parts and he had that knocked out. Oh, he also adjusted my water pressure that I slacked on getting done over the last year. I can't say enough good things about JMAC plumbing. Great pricing too. I'm glad I found them so when my next issue comes up I don't need to search for someone to do it, I already know they are my go to. Extra notice needs to go to Steve S and Todd. JMAC was upfront about the repairs I needed done. There was a fee for an employee to come to my home and do the assessment of the repair. The employee asked if I had interest in doing the repair myself being that the valve replacement was so easy. He explained what needed to be done and reminded me that it would be significantly expensive to pay him to do it rather than doing it myself. The repair was simple after I understood what needed to be done I really respect a company that considers the customers cost for value. They told me free estimate over phone. Came out and he knew the problem and said he would have to charge more if he had to connect any pipes which he wrote in his report that he did but he didn't touch the pipes my wife actually reconnected them as we had to disconnect the day before due to the clogged sink and let out the water. Charges were 25$ to use the snake which is the only thing needed. 59$ trip charge which was confusing and 105$ for an hour charge but he was only here for 35 minutes. Overall I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. As they are not very clear on phone about estimates and also 190$ charge for using snake which we already knew was the issue. Very disappointed. this group gets all the work for American West homes and unfortunately they rest on their laurels with this huge given business. They installed my water heater incorrectly, which ultimately led to a leak in my garage. the home was only 2 months out of warranty and American West stated that they would cover it if JMAC acknowledged the faulty install. JMAC refused to even come to my home without me paying them. Really terrible service. I ended up paying another plumber to fix it as I refused to pay JMAC money to fix something that was their fault in the first place. read more

So I just bought a house last fall, and I know finding a plumber/AC/heating company that you can trust can be daunting, but JMAC has saved me multiple times already! First I was told by a different company that our plumbing downstairs was made of clay piping and it was cracking and leaking smells, despite that plumbing being installed only a few years ago. We called in JMAC for a second opinion and they were able to tell us that the piping was actually ABS (more modern) and that we just had a bad seal on our toilet. They replaced an O Ring on the toilet and we were good to go. The first company had told us we were going to have to rip up our entire downstairs and redo the plumbing so.. GET A SECOND OPINION ALWAYS! Next up we thought our AC wasn't working as efficiently as it could, and after a long investigation JMAC was able to tell us that we had two small leaks in our unit and we didn't have any Freon in the system. Nice. Most recently we cracked a pipe trying to get a hose off outside and JMAC was there within hours to replace the piping and spigot. They've always been super quick to arrive, thorough in their work, friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing they weren't able to do is replace the drywall they had to cut to access the pipes but you know what? It made me motivated to learn how to patch it up myself and after a few YouTube videos I'm a master drywall fixer. Can't expect them to do everything! So far they've come to the rescue every time and I can't recommend them enough. read more

Came out to fix water heater stated they charged $105 per hour. Came out and gave price as $1600. Okd it, but when asked price of the water heater itself they could not or would not tell me. They also did not offer a city permit to install WH. Looked on line. It was about $750 for tank and install kit. Leaving $850 for a 2 hour job that is 4 times the hourly rate. Found another company did it for $1100 and gave me price of water heater at about $800. Also got the permit. In times that are tough $500 savings is a lot. Get a few bids. Receptionist here is so rude that my husband begged me to call for follow-up service so he wouldn't have to deal with her again. I have an issue where my home will not cool once the sun goes down. We had a full tune-up on 6/1 - my husband said the technician was very nice and said our unit was working perfectly. Unfortunately, the problem has continued and we have been sleeping in 80 degrees since then. I called this morning to see if they could do a follow-up service since the problem is still occurring. The service receptionist was so rude to me and read the entire itemized receipt to me and proceeded to say "yeah, I mean, I can have a tech come out again but its still gonna be the the same price since he said it was all working properly." I'm an understanding person and work in retail. She repeated this to me 3 times even though I assured her that the problem that we paid to fix is still a problem. Even if I still need to pay the tech hourly, they can at least wave the fee to come to the house OR even pretend nicely like she is trying to help. Zero customer service from her but stars for the nice technician. Will be calling someone else who cares about helping me and not just getting the $59 to come out and the $110 an hour. read more

Had a great experience with getting a new HVAC installed a couple years ago. But today I asked that an occasional delay in AC turning on be checked. First, I had an appointment for 8am that was scheduled when I called last Wednesday. Informed about $59 trip charge. Fine. Then got a call around 8:45 today, Monday, that there was a "cancellation", and would it be okay if they came out this morning. ???? I had an appointment, they were already late. Okay...so then I had technician, very nice and polite and all arrive after 9, who considered my issue and said it was probably the NV Energy thermostat acting properly with a delay...but he'd check the AC unit anyhow. Okay, 10 minutes max, it looks fine, and then he presents the $164 bill. There is a $105 minimum 1 hour labor charge, ON TOP OF the only charge quoted to show up. I called, why not quote $164 as minimum, since labor minimum would already be a given to just "look"?? Not a good "surprise". read more

We had a main water line break and called JMAC. Darren came out and checked everything out and found that the leak was under the driveway. While he was there he also fixed to slow sinks and leaking water faucet out back. He came back with a helper Ben and they both worked so very hard to dig alongside the driveway and battle the many large tree roots. By the end of the day our new line was in the meter was no longer turning and I was very HAPPY! They cleaned up and made it look like nothing was done. He arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled time, introduced himself, and explained what he was going to do. He then got right to work. Awesome experience! Our AC went out last night and I called first thing this morning and they said were able to get a tech out between 2-4pm. At 11:30am they called back to say they had someone free and they would be there in 30 minutes!!! They tech was nice and quick and replaced our component in 20 minutes and the house was cool down in minutes. I would absolutely recommend JMAC. $49 to diagnose the problem and $150 to fix. Our AC broke. It was hot. I called them this morning at 9, they came out by 11 (ish). They called me when they were on their way. The access to the AC was locked and I had to call a locksmith to open the door. Nick actually waited for the Locksmith to arrive and he fixed the unit very quickly. I thought the price was reasonable. He was courteous and knowledgeable. I used another company before for maintenance and it was a nightmare. I had bit of a phobia about calling anyone (because of the other company) but I'm glad I called this company. I will definitely use them again!! (Hopefully not too soon though!) UNBELIEVABLE!...for two weeks drip drip drip after every shower. For two weeks we had a parade of builders, reps u name it they we're here telling me they had to tear up my new house to find it then JMAC showed up and after listening for only seconds to the drip drip drip sound jmacs plumber DARREN said u don't have a leak..? For two weeks I have been listening to it I almost threw him out! I had six people in my home ready to toss him out. hi said the sound you hear is expansion and contraction of your water service pipes in your attic..say what ?? He said and I will prove it. First he put my home on a pressure test proving I have no pressure leak. Then he said it's not a drain issue cause it's leaking in the ceiling ..when you shower you use hot and cold allowing hot line to expand then as it cools it contracts and us either strapped to tight or not strapped tight enough and makes a dripping sound..huh! They came out to diagnose my current problems and to my surprise, they were able to temporarily get one of the units working even admitting they didn't think the fix would last long and that repairs I paid for would be applied to future replacement. Their reps were thorough in explaining the system replacement, the equipment they sell, why they sell it, as well as all the steps they take for the system replacement. JMAC met every commitment and never over promised.
