Our original air conditioning was not the right size for our house. I did some research and found JMS based on the type of equipment, and the number of good reviews. At first, I hired JMS to do maintenance and they came twice per year. They recognized clearly that the original system was not right. JMS has been great so we called upon them to do the major upgrades that we sorely needed. Joe, the owner, came to the house. He was amazing. It was great to have someone who really knows what they are talking about do a thorough assessment. We were able to keep one compressor and replace the other. They fixed many of the intakes, ducts, vents, and the other "stuff" up in the attic which makes it all work. We also got air purifiers and now when the sunlight is shining through the window, I now no longer see all of those suspended particles floating around. Scheduling was easy. The workers were very experienced. They were prompt and professional. They were super clean. Every day, they put out floor covers, plastic sheets, whatever it took to keep everything clean. Amazing actually. My new system is perfect. Joe really knows how to match a system to a house. Terrible Customer Service!!! I called this company out to give me a bid about fixing my AC, which they came out and did. Bid was high and they tried to up sell me on something I did not need on an "Air Scrubber" and tried to give me a small discount, if I signed up for their annual maintenance service, which was $200. I told the guy that I was going to call my homeowner's insurance, as I have coverage for this and that I would be calling them back out to do the service at a later time. A day later, I called the company to try and schedule them to come out and do the work, and to this day, I never received a call back to schedule an appointment with them, after I called five separate times and left messages as well. Anyways, I ended up calling another company that came out next day and did all the work and did a great job. I do not understand why companies like to lose business and especially over something as small as calling a client back. read more

And my experience with them has been absolutely excellent! I purchased a home in Los Angeles in September 2022, which I am renting to my son and daughter-in-law. Soon after making the purchase, I had a number of things to take care of including replacement of the HVAC system. After doing quite a bit of research on Google, I called JMS to schedule an appointment which I was able to do quite readily. It turned out that I needed a brand new system installed, so when I arrived in Los Angeles soon after the purchase of the house, I was able to meet with a sales person from the company who gave me a thorough explanation of options available and helped me to make a choice of the brand of HVAC system to install. I was able to schedule an installation date quite quickly, and everything was done in a timely manner. Several months later there were some issues pointed out by a pest control technician to my daughter-in-law about there being some entryways into the house which should've been closed up by the people that installed the HVAC system. I called JMS and explained the situation, and workers were sent to the house and the issues were taken care of promptly. Dear Joe, thank you for your response and I am glad to know that safety is your first concern. But still, I think things could be fixed at very early stage but no one tried. The morning when your workers were breaking a large hole in our closet ceiling, I rushed out from the 2nd floor and told them there is asbestos in the ceiling that they should stop the work. Your staff in charge of this project was also called and told in the same morning that there is asbestos in the ceiling. The whole project had been done in a wrong way and some one need to step in to stop the work until a certificated team is on board. But for the next 2 weeks your workers were still dealing with that terrible hole with only a surgery mask on which I told them to wear. I believe the client has big fault of not making this clear at the beginning. But I think there is same big problem with your management team that after knowing the existence of asbestos, you still let workers continue the job without proper protection. I hope you would take this seriously and protect your workers well in future projects. read more

9:30 am. Still waiting home for a technician (from 8 am to 9 am, I was told)... or a phone call... or something. Why can't they answer the phone during business hours? Not a good sign. 9:40 am: They called back. TWO reps called 5 minutes apart, as if they did not know who was handling my report. They each said the tech is due in 20 minutes. OK!!! 10:01 am: Technician arrived and began the job. Request was an inspection and evaluation funded by the LADWP. He showed me a report of my system's INefficiency (it's 19 years old) and power consumption. He offered us a new smart thermostat (included in the LADWP program), but I declined, as I have one already. 11:20 am: Technician finished. I must say he was pretty knowledgeable and businesslike. I just wish the office could get better organized. read more

Avoid this company!!! Shady business. Their technicians came to do a diagnostic on our HVAC system and purposefully removed a fuse on the roof so it would stop working. We called JMS to get an estimate on replacing the relay switch on our AC unit. It runs and cools fine, just has an issue with the switch. After inspecting, they suggested we get an estimate on replacing the entire HVAC unit as ours is very old. They sent their boss to provide us a proposal to replace the entire system - the "proposal" consisted of a few dollar amounts, no additional information on model numbers , etc. After they left, I tried to run our AC but it was blowing warm air. I could tell the condenser unit on the roof wasn't pushing any coolant through. We went to the roof to check the condenser unit and found the fuse has been pulled out and was sitting on top of the fuse box. The technicians either forgot to put the fuse back (though I don't know why they would remove it for a diagnostic test) or purposefully left it out to create urgency for us to pay them $9K to replace our AC system in the middle of summer. They also did this on a Friday which would have left us without any AC while they're closed over the weekend. Thankfully we were able to access the roof and put the fuse back ourselves - needless to say, we will NOT be going with this shady company for our AC replacement. read more

We just sold our home. The biggest glitch in our escrow was that JMS never pulled the permit for the HVAC! We interviewed 3 companies to make sure we bought the best unit and had the best of everything. We were advised we would have a permit, but somehow, we don't know if it was an oversight or what, there was a huge issue when we went to sell because there was no permit. We almost lost our deposit and the home we bought. What made this extra difficult was Covid. If it wasn't for a friend of a friend that worked for the city, I'm sure we would not have sold to the same buyer until the permit was provided at the very last hour. Needless to say, we were so stressed and angry. In the end, the permit finally was filed and we moved. We miss our HVAC from our old place, especially the thermostat we controlled from our phones. . read more

A bit late on my review, but long story short I had a leak in my Daikin indoor unit coil. The guy who originally installed it turned out to be a crook and was lying to me about fixing the leak, so from a Google search I found JMS. Was the call to get someone from JMS over here perfect? No. Was the price good? No, it cost me $1,500 in labor costs to replace the part (which was covered under warranty). Was I happy with the service? Yes! Did the installers know what they are talking about? Yes! Were the installers professional? Yes! In life, you have to take the good with the bad. I didn't like the price; the process wasn't great, as I had to wait 2 weeks to get the part and have it installed so I was without any A/C or heater throughout that time. But thank God the unit has been working very well since they installed it. Am I going to be back here if something goes wrong. Yes! Am I going to update my review with any future interactions? Of course! I had to take one star off due to the price and process leading to the installation, but I would recommend JMS, especially their technicians such as Raymond, to someone that needs Daikin servicing or repair. read more

I had an issue with their maintenance plan and the work one of the employees did when he changed my filters, but when I reached out to them, Yossi (I think owner or point person) got back to me immediately and remedied the problem. They canceled the appointment on me the same day even though they texted me that they are on their way, only because I have a condo and not a single family house! they couldn't explain the reason. AC is AC. It shouldn't matter if its a condo or SFR! The job is to give services...I'm very disappointed due to their cancellation timing. I had to take off from work just to wait for these people to come for service. I have requested a couple of times for a call back from their boss Ben and still have not heard back. The last time tech was right in front of my house eating , only to get a call for the company to tell me an emergency came up . Update: giving one additional star to the review since my husband has heard more from Yossi (the lead) in the past few weeks since this post than we did the entire duration of the project. Thanks for making us feel like a valued customer and trying to address our concerns. ---- Buyer beware!!!! The experience I have had with JMS has been nothing short of horrific. My realtor recommended all of the contractors we ended up using to renovate our recent home purchase and I have been beyond happy with all of her recommendations until my experience with JMS. And evidently, this is an anomaly to her previous experience with this company but something she has also learned from our experience and will no longer be recommending this company for her future clients. I'm always a supporter of small businesses given the customer service is generally higher than what you would get for larger corporate organizations. However, the project manager for us (Nachiely) just seemed lost and disconnected 99% of the time we spoke with her. The project was estimated for completion mid December, yet over a month later we were still waiting for the county to verify safety checks to operate the system. That particular day it took the contractors who came over from JMS over a half hour to realize the HVaC wasn't on outside. Not sure how that obvious point was missed given they installed it themselvesx Issues we have had with the install of our HVAC (not an exhaustive list): -untimely completion -too much ceiling cut out for the vents (my other contractor had to fix) -JMS subcontracted for someone to change our electric panel who ended up cutting the power to other parts of our home. Despite repeated phone calls and an agreement for this individual to come fix his error he never showed. Nachiely seemed confused with our project and another. Our own hired electrician ended up having to fix it. -During the install the subcontractor left a giant hole on the exterior of our home. Thank goodness we "negotiated" to have this fixed by JMS but really... how was this our fault and how is it a favor to us to get this fixed? Isn't this the norm for any home installs by other organizations? -During the install, JMS somehow broke the water lever outside of our home. 2.5 weeks later after we were promised by JMS that this would be fixed we are still waiting for a phone call. When they sent someone out a few weeks ago to examine the problem, the individual was absolutely confused about why he was there. We were told it was going to be fixed that day but the individual said he didn't have the right tools or parts with him. And yes, weeks later we're still waiting for it to be fixed. Until then we can't turn water off to our home and our shower head continues to drip which can't be fixed until the lever is fixed. Super frustrating, not to mention environmentally unfriendly. -HVAC install was considered complete even though it couldn't turn on and when a safety inspector from county came to visit JMS project manager appeared to be completely clueless about why that was happening. Sure, I think my husband said JMS has offered one free year of maintenance because of all of the "unique" issues we seemed to have run into with this install but honestly given my experience with them thus far, I'm sure it will take 10 more calls to verify that this offer is valid if we ever needed to cash in on it. For what we have invested in our new HVAC I definitely expected more and am so disappointed. I'm no HVAC expert but I do know how to manage projects and understand customer service - both of which JMS needs to be schooled on. On the bright side at least my HVAC is working, for now. But it has only been a couple weeks so more to come, I'm sure. read more

I discovered JMS through a groupon when I realized my AC was not functioning properly. They were friendly and accommodating. I scheduled an appt for the following Monday and they gave me a three hour window. On the day of my appt, they called me often to give me a better ETA and my technician, Julian, showed up right on time. I have been looking for quotes from several HVAC vendors over the past 10 days and AMAZINGLY last Thursday I had a full ground up NEW install with central air and heat in a 2 unit Duplex. I have to give props to the crew at JMS Heating and AC - they provided amazing speed (3 day install), in 2 units, cutting new vents, running ducts, copper tubing, wiring, condenser install, and furnace install. 3 days time! This included full electrical upgrade - my fuse box was dangerous and unreliable and I feel much better with a modern breaker box. Suzy was the amazing sales rep that help get me a fantastic deal! Since I had a duplex, I need 2 of everything. This wasn't going to be cheap, but Suzy and the team really gave me a great deal. That same day Ohad the project manager came in to do a walk through and do his mapping and calculations as to how to approach the install. His team, Uriel and Romik, plus a few other guys (Ben did the electrical) came and within three days I had a new HVAC system that works great! The guys were super professional, clean, courteous! The made sure everything was cleaned up and minimized interruptions (I have a small infant in the house during the work). They also made sure we always had power to keep our fridge were working while they did their magic. I definitely recommend these guys at JMS - they are fast, professional and stand by their work. Everything works great and my family is happy, warm, and cool! --Update-- The team also provided a liaison between the building inspector and us. Lee was great and answered all my questions by quickly getting the inspector out of my house so I can get things back to normal again.
