On Sunday the 29th I ordered my fabric and went to the Ellsworth store to pick it up. THE ELLSWORTH STORE had a person at the door and they were only allowing 10 people in the store at a time. When I got in they were allowing only 1 person at the checkout at a time and were cleaning after each person. I was IMPRESSED with how the Ellsworth Store was handling the situation in view of the Covid 19 time of social distancing. Only one day before this is what happened at the Gilbert Store. I was to JOANN'S on Market Street in Gilbert on Saturday the 28th. There were too many people in the store and over 10 people standing shoulder to shoulder in line to get fabric cut. I put my fabric back and on my way out of the store told one of the managers that it is wrong that they are open and have only ONE person cutting fabric and over 10 in line. I was given a "none of your business" look. My suggestion is go to the store that is trying hard to keep us all safe and not just making a buck on being allowed to stay open. The Gilbert store is certainly not looking at anything other than the bottom line. read more

If all JOANN stores are like this one, it's no wonder they are going out of business! This is an absolutely disgusting store. Stinks horribly in here! Like dirt and BO. The floors are dirty with big stains all over the place. The product is extremely cheap looking as if it is the same quality as stuff from the dollar tree and Walmart. We walked in, walked around, went up and down a few aisles, and left. We were completely grossed out by this store and would rather go to Walmart! Would never shop here! Goodbye. read more

Worst store ever! Will not be going here any more. Taking my business to another company. Order $200 in fabric for pick up, and 2/3 of my order was canceled. The person who does online orders doesn't even go look for your items. If they don't see it they cancel it even if it's in stock. The girl has flat out stated she is to busy to go look for or open boxes in the back to look for fabric. If it's not where it should be they don't bother looking. Also no selection in costume fabrics. Use to get damask fabric here all the time. Now they never have it. Hard to make renaissance clothes with out which affects my business. Guess I'm going to Phoenix to SAS from now on. Will also be deleting the Joann app.​ read more

I'm really disappointed with the customer service at this location. Many friends have told me the same. I went to return something and Dianne at the register looked at it and gave a "humph" for no reason. I bought cricut paper yesterday and I accidentally got Iron On instead of Vinyl. Nothing wrong with it. Not opened or anything. Then she mumbled something and I asked her "I'm sorry, what?" And she said "Follow. The. Directions." And pointed to the keypad. I said sorry. Then it said to sign, so I was reaching for the stylus and she said "it's waiting for a signature" and I said "yeah, I was reaching for it" but she had scared me so I dropped the stylus and she said "it happens to me all the time with my hands." It's really not hard to be decent towards another person, especially a customer. There was absolutely no reason for attitude in that situation. This review would've been 1 star, but I gave it an extra for whoever stocks the store. I was here last night at around 6pm and there were a few things missing from the front shelves from people purchasing items. I came in today at 1pm and the shelves were rearranged and completely stocked. They looked great. Good job on presentation! Poor job on customer service. read more

Ordered online for pickup, two hours later went to store to pick up. Order wasn't ready. Note it was for two rolls of ribbon. Called when I arrived, " your order isn't ready yet." Me: when will it be ready. Clerk: It can take up to 24 hours. You can get it yourself. And we'll cancel your order. Me: you'll give me a receipt for the cancellation? Clerk: no. I love going to Joann's for all my quilting supplies but have been very disappointed at the cleanliness or lack thereof ... floors look like they have not been washed in months, stuff all over the floor .. so disappointing.. The store is organized like a teenagers room. I wonder if hoarders can make an episode here for a store version. Things are all over place. There are no set locations of crafts. It's all mixed in a mess. Maybe they should call it like a treasure hunt craft store. Like go find some pins and costumer heads to sewing section. Just kidding that would be in the painting section. Horrible pickup experience!! It was obvious they were never going to come out to do curbside pickup so I ended up having to go inside, there was only one cashier for register AND curbside pickup, the line inside was way to the back of the store. She had no intension of getting my order so after asking twice she very nasty literally walks 5 feet away grabs my order and shoves it at me. They shouldn't offer curbside if they can't handle it. I just called this store asking if they had patterns for face masks. The woman who answered was rude and sc snippy, informing me they don't have "the staff to go looking for that". It was my understanding that when this virus hit that Jo-Ann's was handing out materials curbside to help with making masks so that's why I called. Now, I understand this virus has people on edge, but that is not an excuse to treat people in such a shitty manner. Jo-Ann's just lost my respect & patronage! Notes: cashier CATHERINE was extremely rude from the start stating "*SIGH* My pay rate isn't high enough to do this" and proceeded to contact manager NICK stating "I got a customer with a bunch of fabrics for price adjustments, how do you want me to do this?" manager NICK arrives, takes a deep breath, does not greet or address my wife, and just talks to employee. Says he cannot help and clearly did not attempt to. Went to Gilbert location and provided story. Employees there were already aware of NICK specifically and his issues and took care of everything. They made it clear NICK is able to do this and should have done it and chose not to. Prior to today, the service my wife and I received from this store has been average or below average at best from a majority of the staff with an exception of one or two employees. Today was a particularly terrible experience. While returning to this store to purchase some fabric and to also make price adjustments on fabrics we had previously purchased that are now 40% off, we waited patiently in line for our turn. The sales rep named CATHERINE initially did not acknowledge my wife. When she did, my wife was greeted with "what are we doing?" while not even giving my wife the time or decency to even look at her or in her general direction. When my wife explained the situation, she let out a loud sigh and made clear to my wife that "My pay rate isn't high enough to do this". She contacted her manager for assistance with "I got a customer with a bunch of fabrics for price adjustments, how do you want me to do this?" and I have to admit we were kind of relieved to be helped by someone else. Manager NICK arrives and does not even greet my wife and has a discussion with CATHERINE. He was obviously not happy for whatever reason upon arrival. On top of him not even verbally acknowledging my wife's existence, his body language clearly got the message of "NOT WELCOME HERE" across. My wife then apologized for any inconvenience to hopefully improve the remainder of the transaction but that too was not acknowledged. After CATHERINE'S and NICK's conversation, she informed us that they will not honor the corrected prices. When we asked for clarification, NICK stated it doesn't apply to our purchase which was clearly a lie based on the large signs everywhere stating 40% off licensed fabric which is exactly what we had. He made us feel so uncomfortable with his words and body language that we left after making no progress. We went to the next closest Joann's in Gilbert which was 30 plus minutes (two cities) away and gave a brief explanation of what we were hoping she could help us with and also our experience. The rep there apologized and made clear their store is aware of the issues at Joann's in Queen Creek. The Gilbert employee was able to quickly help us out and do the work that the staff and management of the Queen Creek store were unwillingly to do. read more

Staff is lazy, they don't apologize for the long waiting lines, and the very overweight manager is more concerned about her morning coffee than helping customers.. They have a very low supply of appliqués. Don't go there. Save yourself the anxiety and shop on eBay. They have a much better selection of everything and you don't have to deal with the better than you attitude. Ageism? I would say so. read more

I live right behind this location so I have been coming here for several years. For whatever reason I can't get used to how rude the people who work here are. It's not that they are just unfriendly they make you feel like you are bothering them just by asking a question and if you need help some of them are down right rude. When a store says they close at 6 PM, what time do you expect them to lock the doors and stop allowing customers in? Well in any normal situation the answer would be around 5:55 you have someone stand at the door and really limit the traffic and then at six you make an announcement that you're closing and everyone has to come up front to check out. Or I totally get even having announcements like every 10 minutes saying you're closing soon for the last hour. But apparently at this lovely location the door is locked by 5:41 pm. In addition, when the manager saw there were people out front, he was extremely condescending. Highly disappointed, and as a small business owner it is extremely frustrating to not have a local store who can be held accountable and actually open when they say they are. read more

Let me start by saying my daughter works at this store. We were in the store today(on her day off) shopping. Several times while walking through the store I witnessed Diane making it a point to glare at my daughter. Then because she was using her employee discount Diane had to check us out. Aside from the fact that she was coughing up a storm...I witnessed her intentionally NOT put my daughters bag in her hand letting it fall to the counter, and then look at my daughter for a response. She said, "oh whoops" in an I don't mean it tone. She basically lightly tossed it forward at her. My daughter didn't want an altercation so she acknowledged it by saying, "ahaha I guess it would help if my hands worked". Such unprofessional behavior. Doesn't matter if you like working with her. If she is a customer you better get your act together and act like an adult. read more

I love all the ladies at this location!! I went in with no knowledge of how to put a quilt together and they all jumped in to help me get what I need. They were short staffed today. I wanted to speak to a supervisor about how awesome these ladies are and was told that she went home. Why is the supervisor at home when the store is short staffed?? Get your butt back into work and help those ladies out! Also Catherine is the most amazing cashier! She deserves a raise!! She helped me with my app and coupons. She's the best!! read more

I drove a bit out of my way to get specific fabric online. I wanted to check that it was 4 way stretch, so I could not do that online. When I entered the store, I realized that it was going to be a trying experience. There were two people waiting in line to be checked out with no employee in sight at 6 PM. I needed rib knit for bands and the 4 way fabric I had checked online, so I gathered my fabric, took a number and waited behind two customers at the fabric cutting area. The employee helped two people, gave me a 'moment' remark that I didn't fully catch as she wasn't standing near me and walked away. I waited there for about ten minutes for a male employee. I was seriously considering handing him the fabric to re - shelve, but he was quick and efficient. I ended up finding some great Harry Potter knit and hurrying back before he left the counter, as I didn't have more time to waste waiting on employees. Once I was at the check out, there was no cashier. The employee who vanished on me earlier came out to check me out, no apology for leaving me and apparently no concern for the wait until I cut my fabric and was able to check out. 6 PM should be a standard time for working people to be out shopping. read more

The staff member reluctantly walked around with me, heading for the cake decorating department, and said, "We just have never carried such a thing." (Seriously? This is a craft basic! ) When I went to the register, my app wouldn't log in. The cashier said, "Yeah. Several people have had trouble with that today." No, I don't remember my password. I don't need it for other apps that I use! There was no compensatory "coupon behind the counter" for such misfortunes. Just, "Oh well." When I go to Joann's I take my own shopping bag. I purchased it at JoAnn's and it is easier for me. As I was shopping and had my thing in the bag the manager stopped me as I was browsing. He said are you finding everything okay. I said yes, just looking around. Then he noticed my shopping bag and said. "Can I take your bag to the front to hold?" I said no I got it. He then changed his tone...Well, you can not have that bag in the store! Why not? It a JoAnn's shopping bag. He said, "You can only use the bags and cart from the store. I bought this here and it's a shopping bag! I told him I would leave in a minute. So as I was walking to to the front of the store. I stopped to look at something. The manager was walking down the aisle looking for me. He walked to the front to see if I was the have never been treated so badly at any store. I told the store clerk that I was scolded for using this bag, she said Oh! was it a tall guy? Yes, he's the manager. I'm sorry about what happened she said. During this time of being careful that is more so why I took my own bag. I didn't want to touch the carts or the bags in the store. read more

Seriously the worst Joann's around. The lines are always ridiculously long and they only ever have one cashier. We pay the same way every time we go, electronic gift card via CrayPay and there is literally one cashier in the entire store who knows who do process the gift card. One employee rolled their eyes when I asked if she knew how to do the giftcard and another employee even made the comment "No wonder this store gets such bad reviews" to us! I'd rather drive the extra 20 minutes to next nearest store than to deal with anyone here. read more

Went to this Joanns this morning to check out sale items that were in their online ad but said instore only on many things.when we checked out would not honor the sale price. Management on duty said they don't always honor online ad prices, but it said in store only, well some ladies ahead of us pointed out all the details to management and finally management looked online and honored sale prices. (This should not happen) Also when I order online for pickup at store, never ready when supposed to be. I am glad to have a Joanns near my home, but this store difinetly needs a lot of improvement. 1 star is better than I would rate the customer service in the fabric cutting department. Be warned. I had fabric cut last week - "custom cut" - paid for all the fabric and finished part of my project. Today I went in and all 3 ladies readily available to assist said that they do not do "custom cuts". Lazy? Maybe... Considering I just cut 3 separate pieces last week. I went here with my seamstress to find some lace to use in a few overlays on my wedding dress. I was surprised at the quality of their fabrics and lace, as well as the large selection. The store was so clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant. I may not be someone who would typically frequent this store, but I know that I would definitely recommend this place to others who sew and make textiles often. The service today was the worst ever. I don't write a lot of reviews but I could not believe how bad it was. I know that Joann has free wifi, there is a sign on the door. When I arrived, I asked about the wifi and the sales person, Meghann, told me it was crap and not to bother. I said I needed to get the coupons using wifi and she said people usually download them at home before they come. I told her it was a 30 minute drive for me to get there, I could not go home to download. I asked if there were paper coupons and she said no. No assistance was offered and I found her abrupt if not rude. It was not busy because it is "game day" and with no lineup, I waited way too long in line to get some fabric cut. There was an extra 1/2 yard of fabric on the bolt and Meghann asked me if I wanted the rest at 50% off. I said yes. She did up one slip for the fabric and another slip written by hand using the regular price for the fabric when the fabric was on sale for $2.99 per yard. She priced the remnant at $6.99 and I ended up paying $1.50 for 1/2 yard, which was exactly the same price I was paying for the rest of the fabric, no savings off the price I was already paying. I think it was a mistake but for a few cents, I wasn't going to risk having to spend any more time in the store to straighten it out. I also wanted to use the 50% off one fabric cut at regular price but the pelon products are not included. The coupon does not say pelon is not fabric or that it is excluded. The coupons are always confusing but Meghann made sure I not only did not get the sale price, but felt bad for asking. Then I asked three women who were working at the Husqvarna part of the store about a quilt project that was hanging up there. It was a block of the month. I asked if there was a pattern or written instructions. No. Could someone show me how they made that one piece of the block of the month? No. Three people standing/sitting there talking among themselves and not one was able to spend 5 minutes with me to tell me a bit about what the technique was, what machine foot was used, what stitch goes into it, nothing. They said it was a block of the month and it would be taught in the future. I said I am only here in Arizona for a month and they laughed. It took way too long for me to get what I wanted at the store, to get information that was unhelpful and to be brushed off when a few minutes of time would have made all the difference. The staff at this store urgently need some coaching in customer service. The only person who was courteous, helpful and quick was Jan at the till. read more
