All Joan stores are closing and liquidating stock. I purchased a few items, glad I didn't get sucked in any further thinking "going out of business" meant good deals. I checked online and found lower prices on all items that I purchased except one. Amazon's regular price on a rotary cutting mat was less than Joann's. A clerk needed to open a locked cabinet to get a rotary cutter I'd intended to buy and wouldn't let me carry it to the checkout counter even though the cutting mat in my cart was 4x more expensive. She forgot all about it, good news for me, I found a better one online for MUCH less! Many employees were standing around, not offering help, and the store was a mess. Leaving a 5 star review because of the incredible customer service I received from Evan. Have to give a a HUGE thank you to an employee named Evan who helped me the evening of 10/4. Evan was so helpful and an absolute delight to work with. It was very close to closing time on a Friday evening and the store was relatively busy but Evan remained friendly and attentive with customers. Evan was incredibly skilled in helping customers find the items they were looking for in order to get everyone to the checkout line before the store closed in a handful of minutes. This was my first time at this location. I will be returning due to the customer service and because there was a much better selection of fabrics and yarns than other Seattle area Joanns. By far my favorite craft store for picking up yarn supplies. The store has a versatile collection of craft supplies, concentrating majorly on fabric crafts. The staff is very nice and helpful. I usually come here to pick up supplies for my crocheting. While this is the best-standing common store for sticking up yarn and other crocheting supplies, I still think they can stock a lot more variety of yarn and crocheting supplies. I use this as an emergency. I feel I get a lot more variety in online yarn stores though. There is plenty of parking available on the premises read more

This is for Joannfabrics.com. I ordered some yarn for a project for Christmas on 12/3/24 and as of 12/10/24 it has not shipped. They have made a shipping label for Fedex (worst shipping service) that I got notified this morning about, and as of midnight, they still have not picked up the package. It is in Ohio and needs to find its way to Washington State. I am expecting that I will not see it until next week. If I had thought it would take a week+ before it even saw a shipping carrier I would have gone to an actual store and found some yarn that would work instead. I am very disappointed in the shipping service in this day and age. I can get a package overnight that I order from Amazon. Joann's should be able to get the order out with in a day or two. THE WORST experience ever at this Joann's! My girlfriend went to the store to pick up some fabric and was picking out. Then when she asked one of the fabric cutting employees if she could place some on the countertop since her shopping cart was full, the younger employee was nice enough and said, "Yes." But then some old White woman named Kerry or something, was extremely rude to my girlfriend while staring at her, then saying very loudly, "Are you done?! Can we get started?!? You're holding everyone up!" What kind of customer service is that??? So, my gf had to ask the other employee for help since the old lady did not want to cut the fabric she brought up and only cut ones that had a small amount of fabric. Then told my girlfriend that she couldn't help because she messed up the order number. WHAT kind of nonsense is that?!? Aren't you supposed to treat each customer with respect????!?!? It doesn't matter if one has 1 fabric or the other has 20. You treat each person kindly and in a friendly manner! Totally unacceptable! The old lady is supposed to serve people nicely. My sister in law and I were getting in the Holiday spirit early this year.l and we're excited to pick up some decor. She spotted these cute fake little trees in a display. She noticed that they were tagged 2/$49.99 and they were on sale for 50% off!?! What a deal!!! When we asked the sales associate to double check she told us that she wasn't sure because it wasn't ringing up that way, but since BOTH trees were tagged that way they'd "have" to honor the price. We continued to shop and find more goodies. When we went to check out the associate said the manger said that the writing wasn't theirs...ummm...are you trying to say WE wrote it on there?!? It was in the FRONT display with TONS of cameras...NOT cool!!! I felt bad that I didn't try to fit the manager on the honoring the price. Meanwhile working in retail for over 20 years I could tell who the manager was...she was hanging out near us and was lurking trying to hear what was going on. So NOT right to let your associate take the "heat" for your coward ness. I get that whom ever marked the trees (clearly a store associate as the tags were STAPLED to the trees with printed and hand written note reflecting TWO for $49.99). The manager should have stepped in and explained why she wouldn't honor the price. We walked out sadly with no trees.... I got new coupons in the mail, so went in last night to see if we could get the trees, but they were now mysteriously gone. ‍ We decided our experience left a sour taste in our mouth and we "almost" pulled a "Pretty Woman" move. We said loudly that the service we received the last time was awful and that we'd receive better at MICHAELS OR HOBBY LOBBY and left with NOTHING!!! Figure it out Joann's...you have TOO much competition to treat your customers the way that you do!!! Use to love Jo Ann's but I've started having issues with the cutting counter. The current lead scolds customers to tear numbers and can get a bit nasty after it. The first few times I shook it off and yesterday (5/3) was my last straw with this lady. The individual in front did not tear a number so the count was off. The lady didn't see me tear a number when I walked up even though it was evidently noticeable in my hand. She got pissy with me and rude. The worst part was she wanted me to get back in line even after waiting 10 min waiting for the customer in front of me that didn't do their homework before coming in. I honestly almost left when they asked me to get back in line. The younger lady was polite but also a bit arrogant in having to deal with her lead being pissy over the tear a ticket system. I've never had an issue with the cutting counter and I've been shopping here for 20 years. This day they lost me as a customer and I shall not return. I watched her cut it and she was accurate but a little off which can make or break a project. Glad I asked for a smidgen more than needed. The gal was also having technology issues and I kindly waited several minutes for her to figure it out. I am taking my fabric woes to etsy. Etsy's prices are about par but some times you can wait for sales and get better deals. JoAnn's please talk to your lead in charge of this area. She has gotten worse about the ticket tearing and started scolding rudely customers that know how to do the system. There are a lot of customers that also do not know the system and that in turn causes a muck up in the line system. I know the system as I'm or now was a long term customer. She must be relatively new because I've never seen her before. Before yesterday I have never had an issue with this location. And, yesterday (5/3/24) will be my last day ever in this location. Etsy wins my business. Amazon for the other crafting materials. Customer service at this location has sort of gone down hill but that's also in part of the Walmartization of the industry. The cashiers have always been polite and accurateminus a few charging issues. More items locked up than usual and no one to unlock them. Many times I've gone up to JoAnn's to buy items only to find they're locked up and good luck finding people to unlock them. Well... Isn't that what Amazon is for? Scan with phone, add to cart and get it in less than 48hrs? Don that multiple times. Guess they're more concerned about shop lifters than getting business. The framing counter is amazing and the people really know their stuff but it can be incredibly slow. And I mean slow. I dropped off a project 1.5 months before an event and it missed the event 2.5 mo out because of the short staffing. Repeated issues time and time again with top notch quality but slow framing process. The over the counter frames are shoddy at best and will fall apart outside of packaging. Please avoid these frames all together. Is it me or are they stocking less than normal? I've been seeing some bare shelves like the company is struggling with finances and this hints financial troubles with companies. read more

Wanted to get something out of one of the glass cases in the paint section. Hit the button to call an attendant, 5 minutes later nobody has arrived, hit the button again, still nobody. 20 minutes later start wandering the store to find staff. Only employees are at the fabric section and register. Both say they aren't allowed to leave their section and don't call for someone else to assist. If you're going to lock things up make sure you have the staff to retrieve the items. Especially when they cost 20% more than they do online. read more

Sent my husband in to pick up a sewing machine I purchased online. I spent almost $400 between the sewing machine and some needles. He got there 1/2 hour plus before they closed. He was told they did not have time to sell it to them because they closed in a half hour. What? So the big sales can't be made 1/2 hour before closing? I am guessing this is why they are going through a bankruptcy. Apparently there is a time limit for spending money with them. Tomorrow I will be asking them to post a return and getting it somewhere else. If they do not have time to sell it to me, I do not have time to buy it. Are customers an inconvenience to you in your store? Every time I'm in- so slow, so rude, so unresponsive. I can tell people give up and leave waiting for fabric by the amount of people who don't show when their number gets called. There were THREE other employees around who could have helped customers with cutting fabric or opening your ridiculous locked scissor case...instead, what should have been a quick 10 minute trip became an hour long inconvenience. I asked where the scissors were, was pointed to the case. Okayy, you couldn't have called for assistance for someone to open the case for me? What good is knowing where it is if it's locked and inaccessible? Am I magic? Then I had to ask another employee for help opening the case, who couldn't help, then wait until whoever COULD open the damn case showed I'm incredibly frustrated by this experience and will not be returning. read more

I love all of Joann's decorations but their pricing is so out of wack. They mark stuff up so high that when you see a sale sticker it only marks it down to a reasonable price. Unless it's super clearance, then it's a great deal. This store is very unorganized. VERY. The seasonal and seasonally relevant items are upfront and beautifully displayed but behind that it's udder chaos. Clearance is all over the store, pretty much in each aisle, not easily or clearly marked either. It's pretty frustrating to shop here if you are looking for specific things. But if you have time, can really dig through things, search, and price check you can find some good deals. I just wish it was organized. I found fall/s clearance in 6 different areas, with 3 different sale stickers. So I wasn't sure what the prices actually were. read more

I went into the store today and asked if they have Veteran discount and I was told they did offer a 15% discount for Veterans. I noticed on my reciept after spending 330$ on a cricket and a shirt that I only recieved a 42 cent discount for the entire purchase. I was then told after the purchase PP₩.that they don't offer the discount on Big items like the Cricuit or sewing machine. I just wished they would have explained it a bit better. The next day I went back and bought 2 small items and I only received a 38 cent discount. I feel its false advertising if they are telling customers that its a 15% discount for Milatary families . I haven't been inside of a JOANN Fabrics in a minute! This particular location is huge, but looks really outdated. There is a thick layer of dust on all the signs and displays that are higher than eye level. And the staff moves painfully slow. I had to ask for help three different times and all three times were super slow. I had to pick up some yardage of felt and it took about 25 minutes to get help at the counter. You pick a number and hope that the women cutting fabric move quickly. But your hopes sink and you see them moving so slow it's almost backward. :( I also wanted to grab a set of some nice colored pencils. You know, something a few levels above Crayola. Their entire stock was missing except for one set that was $25. It seemed super steep to me for some colored pencils. But since it's all they had, I snatched them up. When I needed scissors I had to hit a button and wait a while for someone to unlock the case and help me. And when I asked where I could find fabric glue, I was dropped off without even being asked if I had any questions about what I was looking for. Overall this location could use a thorough cleaning and update, and honestly a little excitement from the staff wouldn't hurt, either. read more

What a fun store! We came in the day after Christmas looking for some fabric to reupholster a couple chairs. Before we could make it to the fabric aisles, though, we were distracted by their aisles-upon-aisles of clearance Christmas decor. We ended up practically filling our cart with beautiful Christmas decorations, including beautiful, glittery, long-stem fabric poinsettias and other wintery-looking foliage--perfect for filling in gaps in Christmas trees! When we finally reached the fabric aisles, there was plenty to look at. They have a fantastic selection of upholstery fabrics, and we had no trouble finding a beautiful, affordable red fabric that was absolutely perfect for reupholstering the two chairs. I even found a couple fabrics I want to use to reupholster a couple of my own chairs, though they were a little pricey. I'll keep my eye open for some good coupons! The only drawback to our visit was the long wait time to have the fabric cut. Although they had several employees working, some of them certainly took longer than others to cut the fabric (they really loved chit-chatting). That said, the gal helping us with our fabric was very helpful with determining how much fabric we needed for our project. As we were checking out, we were surprised at how little we actually spent! After using a 20% off your entire purchase coupon (keep your eyes peeled for those!), our total was only $60. Again, our cart was full of Christmas decorations, upholstery fabric, and even a fabric pill remover. What a deal! And, the fabric ended up being perfect for the project. We had plenty of fabric, and it's nice and durable (which is necessary in a house with a couple cats)! I've been coming here for years always happy. Until today. I came in to discuss custom framing, I'd been trying to for about a week but they were never around. When the gentleman in charge of the custom framing department approached me I could already tell he was unenthusiastic about entertaining my business. Before I even had a chance to explain what I wanted framed he scolded me for not having the piece of art with me. When I said I had all the measurements and wanted to look at options he turned me away. I get that maybe it's not the typical way it's done but if he's the only option I won't be going back to that department. I really liked some of the samples I saw but he made it clear from the first thing he said to me disdainfully "are you who I'm helping?" That I wouldn't be treated well by this man. read more

This is my complaint- I ordered first thing this morning for curbside then found out it was supposedly for the "make a mask" revolution that orders today would be delayed - however when I called the store their systems were down. Yes I understand that things are different now - but just say that it's on the website. I had an off-and-on torrid affair with Jo-Ann. I would sneak there during work hours for a quick tour through the store with coupon clutched in hand. I'd find myself wandering the four glorious aisles of scrapbooking stuff aimlessly and repetitively. I would come see her every couple of weeks when a new ad came just to be sure I wasn't missing anything. But I had to get a handle on my love affair...I was buying things I didn't need and would never use (WTF...a DIY mosaic garden stone? I don't even have a garden!). Their cornucopia of scrapbooking items priced under $5 fooled me into thinking I wasn't spending a whole lot (but a cart full of under-$5 items can eventually add up to $200). And my craft room became a depository for Jo-Ann bags I had yet to open. I was like the hoarders you saw on Oprah that one time. So I quit cold turkey for awhile to develop a healthier relationship with Jo-Ann. I had to learn how to keep her in my life without becoming obsessed and compulsive. I had to remind myself that I didn't need to go there if I didn't need anything, that she would always be there for me as would her regular coupons. Since reaching this level of self-actualization, I have found Jo-Anns, this one in particular, to be the perfect spot for purchasing discounted scrapbook staples, picture frames, and I have even had several things framed there. Their framing department is great, and the coupons are unbeatable (keep an eye out for the 60% off framing that comes around once a year towards August). I now have a healthier relationship with Jo-Ann, and will continue to come here for custom framing and scrapbooking stuff. read more

I don't like this place, because it has such cranky older women. I love how craftsy it is here, but these women just point a section out and the things weren't even there. They even seemed annoyed that we asked. Although, the younger teen staff were actually super nice. Took time to walk with us and show us where the correct places to find certain items would be and they are super helpful and go out of their way to satisfy customer service. They're holding up the customer service for the rest. There's an area where you have to grab a number and they have desk/counter stations where they can cut as much material you need. They're super busy on Saturdays with that. Overall, it's a good place to shop for like a kid's science project, some crafts, cloths, leather and other crafty things! read more

I have vowed that this will finally be my last time visiting a Joanne's. I went in there today to get fabric. Chose my fabric, grabbed a number and started the waiting game. The lady called out a number and no one stepped up. She then said "oh, it's the lady over there" pointing in a direction towards a lady still choosing fabric clearly not ready to check out. I would like to mind you that there were a couple people READY to have their fabric cut. So rather than helping those people while the lady chose her fabric the employee walked away to do something else in another department to wait for the customer to be done because she did have the next number to be chosen. I'm not suggesting to disregard the customer still shopping who chose a number before she was ready. I am simply suggesting that they should help the people that are ready rather than walk away and wait for that number to be done. This store is huge when you walk in. The ceiling feels as tall as Costco's, yet this store has a pretty wimpy inventory. So the isles are all spaces pretty far apart. There were too few employees to actually be of help. They mail out coupons like 40% off one item, and 20% off your entire purchase, but it only applies to regularly prices merchandise. So naturally, the store marks everything down by 10% so that your coupons are useless. They are just to get you in the store really. The baking section at this store is actually really really impressive, with all these specially pans for making fun creations. read more

Took my wife there Saturday July 21,2018 to get a new latch hook that was not available at our regular store in Federal Way. The one Asian Lady was nice and helpful,but there was one tall Lady that was rude and not helpful at all. My wife asked her a simple question and she had an attitude,saying "The instructions are in the box"! What she could have done is say "I do not know,or I am not sure". Having an attitude with customers does not help your business. We will NEVER go back there again and hopefully this review will be seen by management and something will be done in regards to customer interaction. This is an exceptionally poorly managed location. It is generally understaffed and disorganized. Asking a manager for help or registering a complaint is pretty much useless. Don't expect to be treated with courtesy or respect -these are alien concepts here. Staff alternates between sugary-sweet-but-generally-lacking-knowledge and downright rude/disinterested. All are slow and most not typically helpful. Having fabric cut? Get a number as soon as you enter the store. The line at the cutting counter is almost always stupidly long and slow-moving. Prices are ridiculous for the quality of goods they peddle - which is typically poor to average. I believe this is due to the 40-50% off coupons routinely sent to regular customers. They must keep prices high to offset their 'discounts'. Fabric selection is small, of poor quality and expensive. It may seem like you're getting a good deal until you wash or wear something you've made from it. Hobby quality at best. Go elsewhere for craft supplies because you can. There is nothing unique about their selection. Michael's is much better in selection and quality. I avoid this place as much as I can. If I do need something from Jo-Ann's that I can't find elsewhere (like Roc-Lon muslin by the bolt at a reasonable price WITH coupon), I will go to just about any other location first even though this one is much closer to me. read more

I came into this location tonight at 8 pm to get embroidery supplies. As soon as I walked in the door, there was an employee standing there. I thought she was going to greet me but she just said "we close at 9." I thought it was a little rude but I just said "okay" and walked in. Now, this same employee then proceeded to announce the store closing time on the loudspeaker at 8:20, 8:30, 8:40, 8:45, 8:50, and 8:55. It was completely ridiculous! I was at the fabric cutting table at 8:25 and the woman helping me got a call on her headset. She listened for a minute and then tells me "just so you know, we close at 9." I knew she had been told to say it, and she was just repeating it, so I wasn't annoyed with her. I told her "they're pretty obsessed with telling people they close soon. That's the third time I've been told" and we both laughed about it. I know most businesses make a few announcements near closing time. But seriously, this was excessive, being accosted the moment I walked in. I could have had an enjoyable hour but instead I felt rushed, unwanted, stressed out, and sorry I gave them a dime of my money. I would prefer less than one, but its not an option..... Went to return some items and it might have been easier taking down the Great Wall of China with a toothpick! The management was incredibly rude, uncooperative, unobliging, and plainly did not care if I would return as a customer ever again.
