The only way I could communicate with these people was to go to their website and leave messages for an appointment. This has been my go-to spot for a quick hair cut for the past 6-7 years, way before Joanna took it over. While I can't say much about all of the other services she offers, I can tell you the reason I keep going back is the consistency of the haircuts. My hair is not is not complicated yet other places still manage to screw it up. At Joanna's, it doesn't matter which girl I get, the cut is always consistent and just like a restaurant, that is a very important part of their service. The price is usually lower then most other places and the time I spend on a chair is usually under 10 minutes. The Salon itself could use some upgrades, but I feel she avoids doing those things to keep the prices low and competitive. Another reason I like the place! The most unprofessional "salon" I have ever been to. I made an appointment online, the site gives you the ability to choose with whom you'd like the service with. I chose Joanna, the owner to do a perm for my son. I got an email conformation that same day and then a text reminder the day before my appointment. I walk in to a very poor ventilated salon that was very hot and humid. The ladies that were there began to ask me in Spanish if I wanted a haircut. I proceeded to tell them I had an appointment. They looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. I told them I had an appointment with Joanna then I showed them my phone with the reminder. They then told me that Joanna wouldn't do it because she's off. I asked why I was even able to make an appointment with her if she was off and she just shrugged. I didn't get a call or text of a cancellation. I scheduled my day off in order to make this appointment and everything about this establishment reeks of unprofessionalism. One of the ladies said she could do it so my son sat down and the lady started without even asking specifics! She then in Spanish began to say how she didn't even know how to do one or where the box of equipment was to the other lady. She didn't know I spoke Spanish and was understanding everything she was saying! That was the last straw, I said you know what? No thanks. I got my kid out of there fast. I don't recommend for anyone to come to this place. I only saw one state board license up as well, when clearly it looked like two other women were there working. I scheduled an appointment with this place because I was looking for someone new to do my color.. I set up an appointment with the owner for Friday April 7th - only to find out when I get there at 9am.. some guy tells me she's on vacation in Mexico?!! I took the time off work to come to this appointment.... I got no phone call or text that my appointment would have to be changed...Its very unprofessional especially since I had just walked in a week prior and still wasn't advised that she wouldn't be in.... a big waist of time & huge inconvenience. How do you run a business like this... and yet not call your clients to let them know you wont be in.... from the looks of it seems like this happens quit often (from looking at previous reviews).. I was debating on posting this but the positive yelp reviews really misled me. This is more of a barber shop than a beauty salon and I should've walked out when I noticed that. I went in for a root touch up (black), was helped right away by very nice girls but the girl took the color off my hair before the timer went off because multiple men were waiting in the waiting area and it was only her working. The website states services include Olaplex treatment but I never got that and my hair was washed with Redken products :( I'm not sure how but my roots were still visible and I let the girl know, she said "no, it's black" so I just paid and left. I was charged $100 and 2 weeks later, all of the color she added has washed out and I again have a band of roots that need colored. Looks like a good barber shop but definitely look for a real hair stylist. read more

After visiting multiple locations I was really struggling to find a good barber who would be patient with my 1 year old and me. So I turned to Facebook and asked a parent group who they recommended and I'm so glad I did! Joana is so patient yet quick! I've never had my hair bleached and I've been wanting to get highlights for the longest time but can't seem to find someone who I can trust and feel comfortable to do my hair I found Joanna through IG friends who is a client and I was amazed so I checked her IG page and boy as soon I saw her work I made the appointment right away through her website which is so convenient I got in the same week. I showed her what I want she told me that she will work her best to get the light color I wanted even though I have my hair dyed red and sure enough she did it and I couldn't be more happier with the result. Mens haircut: The price is now 15 per haircut, 16 if you use card. Came in on a pretty slow afternoon, and overall the decor hasn't changed over the years.(Which doesn't inspire confidence in the quality) When it was $10 or even $12 per haircut I would say it was worth the price point... Now that they raised the prices (Plus tip if you feel inclinded), the quality remains the same unfortunately....so personally theres a lot of better options in the area for the new price point. Theres just no real attention to detail when they're cutting your hair. When I asked for a simple fade, it seemed beyond her capabilities to do more than just cut hair in one way. If you're looking to just get a haircut... then go here (Nothing complicated). I would not come here for any special occasion at all, you will not be amazed at the haircut they do. At $10 I really wouldn't have minded, but now that's its higher....I expected a lot more. Theres a lot of better options for this price point now. read more

Went to get a haircut right before the holidays. I actually made an appointment with Joanna via website, which actually makes the place seem nicer than it really is. I arrive early and she's working on someone else. She was running late, and offered for another lady (I wish I would have gotten her name) to cut my hair. And I was def hesitant but I said sure, since it was the owner vouching for them. Well it turned out to be a disaster. Online it states I get a haircut for one hour and blowout. I got a haircut in 15 MINUTES and no blowout. She literally took the scissors and chopped it off and said DONE! I expressed how I didn't like it loud enough for Joanna to hear (she was in the chair right next to me). Joanna never once intervened to see if she could fix it. I hate to write bad reviews but honestly they should market the salon as a barber shop since that's the vibe. Was really disappointed that Joanna didn't once ask if she could fix it or anything. Booked an appt thru the Yelp app with this salon to get my hair and makeup done for my brother's wedding. The appt process was simple and professional. I was very pleased how things came out. They listened to what I wanted and met my expectations. I got numerous compliments. It was a beach wedding and both the hair and makeup stood strong for 14+ hours. My 4 y/o daughter got her hair done as well, they put cartoons on which helped keep her distracted during the process, including waiting for me to be done. My only complaint, yet minor, was that my appt was at 9am and they didn't get there until 9:10. Horrible customer service! I have been there twice and had a bad experience both occasions. I thought maybe the first time they were having a bad day and I would give them another chance...big mistake! First of all I walked in both times and never got a greeting, no hello, no smile...just a dirty look and she turned away. First time I took my son and I had to keep telling the girl to go back and fix the cut bc she kept leaving weird long hairs. Second time I told the stylist exactly what I wanted and didnt want and she did the exact opposite!
