It was our time here. We were craving fried fish and found this delicious restaurant. The fried snapper was nice and crispy and meaty. The surf and turf is highly recommended. It comes with garlic shrimp and steak cooked to your liking. The mixed fajitas was very savory. Don't forget to try the mango margarita. Its blended with fresh Mango. Simply AMAZING! What's a fantastic place. Great service, best virgin strawberry daiquiris (according to my daughter and she has a virgin daiquiri every restaurant we go to on vacation). She asked me to try it and not gonna lie, it was delicious so I ended up order their margaritas (frozen and on the rocks and wow, they don't lie... the best in PV. Absolutely a hidden gem. A small (about a dozen tables) rooftop family run restaurant. We went on a Wednesday because it's right in the middle of the art walk and they had a very good saxophonist. The drinks were awesome - I had a tamarind margarita and a kahlua with cream for dessert. For food we got the best grilled shrimp I've maybe ever had and a phenomenal seafood salad. Had an amazing dinner at Melissa's. It was the last night of a 10 day trip to Mexico and we were really craving a traditional Mexican fish dinner. We saw they had a rooftop patio, but unfortunately there was a private event upstairs so we couldn't sit there. However it was still an wonderful experience. The staff is the nicest, most accommodating crew. They were very helpful with my gluten allergy and made sure all my food was safe. We got the red snapper and it was perfect and delicious. This is our second year visiting PV and Melissa's; my husband and I both love the tortilla soup. It definitely taste's authentic and is not too heavy and thick; the cheese is perfectly proportioned and the flavours are well balanced. They also have great seafood salad, mango margarita and homemade reposado tequila. The service is great and the owner and servers are very friendly and warm. They had 2 for 1 margaritas in the afternoon for happy hour, and these were fantastic. We came for lunch, should have just kept my table with drinks, and stayed for dinner. I hate to do this, but I have to be honest and say the food was just average. I can't believe that this place has 4.8 stars. It felt like a tourist trap. Giant plastic menu with pictures on the back, uninspired menu. They brought a small bowl of complementary chips with thousand island dressing (?) and soy sauce (?) - totally bizarre. The thousand island dressing did not taste like thousand island dressing (but why would you want it to with tortilla chips?), but it was not bad. They do not bring chips out when you order guacamole - you have to order them separately. Tortilla chips were not good - not warm, not crispy, kind of stale. Tables were small and felt cramped. I got the shrimp fajitas and they were meh. Service and ambiance were excellent, though. Very attentive and pleasant service. The restaurant is upstairs and feels like an oasis off the street. We saw fireworks from our table. I wouldn't go back, but if you are looking for average, generic food that you could make at home and just need an oasis with good service, come here. If excellent, inspired food is your mission, go elsewhere. read more

The mango margarita is to die for, made from fresh, ripe mangoes, has a tasty salt chilly rim. Try it first. Free tortilla chips with salsa and cole slaw. Been here more than two times, fried whole red snapper is a standout and hard to finish for one person, ask for some tortilla on side. Grilled mahi mahi, garlic style was a bit over cooked, i removed marinate and used the salsa. The servers are nice and couple know English. Prices are not cheap, maybe 10-20% less of say Senor frog. Over all a must visit once. Google local via maps has better results than yelp in PV, so posting there first. read more
