Joe's Crab Shack has always been our first stop for an evening dinner in Sevierville. Tonight, they had a 1.5 hour wait, so we went to the bar area. When we sat down on the two farthest bar stools, there was a guy passed out cold on the bar facing us. He was on the stool next to my husband. The waitress had a mask under her chin. My husband and I are in our 60's and we are courteous enough to wear masks, not only to protect ourselves, but to protect others. We are in the middle of a pandemic, which is very real and people are dying! I teach high school kids and I will do whatever I can to protect them. I understand that people remove their masks in restaurants and we would too when we ate, but for the waitress to wear hers under her chin was inexcusable. We will not be back. read more

While I understand we are living in COVID times, common sense is still important. Posted closing time is 8pm on Yelp, restaurant site and verbal confirmation via telephone. We were told it would be an hour wait but we had eater at Joes before and worth the wait. When we were seated I should have said thanks and walked out. Only 10% of the tables had customers. My family and I visited Joe's Crab Shack this evening. The food was amazing on the adult end. My youngest son ordered the chicken fingers and it was tiny portion. It upset him. Because he is allergic to shellfish and could not order anything else. The only complaint I have is the severely undercooked potatoes. Which they tried to replace with under cooked potatoes again. Food was not good at all. We got pretty much a crab boil and they did not season it at all. They threw some old bays seasoning on the corn and that was pretty much it. First, we have been to Joe's in 4 different states multiple times and order the same thing. Was there day after Christmas. Ordered the steam pot for all 3 of us. 1) they no longer have the steam pot for 2 but it's the same price as 2 and 2) it didn't even come in the steam pot and 3) it's less than half the food you use to get. They cut sausage and potatoes up so you don't notice that it's 1/4th of what you had before.. I asked why isn't it in a "steam pot" and they said the "bucket" is now the steam pot and they are doing away with the bucket. Spent almost $200 and was still hungry when we left- we had to go to a desert shop to feel like we ate a normal sized meal. Unacceptable and it's illegal to false advertise what you are not getting. Is this only at the location? Whomever is over the franchisees need to know what a terrible representation this place is. It's by far the worst in my 25+ years going there. never will I have any complaints about Joe's, its my all time favorite place to eat, and every time the experience is problem free and I walk out of the restaurant extremely satisfied and feeling like I certainly got my money's worth.
