We have visited Puckett's several times when in the Smokies and have always had a great meal. This visit, we had the pulled pork. For me, the pork could have been cooked a little more. I would describe it was served as a 'wet' BBQ and not as dry, but that is my personal preference. Fries, baked beans and fried jalapeño cornbread are always a great addition. To me, a great BBQ does not need any sauce, so I really didn't try them, but I'm sure they are good. Baked beans were typical. It wasn't as good this time as before, but that will not prohibit us from visiting again next time we are in the area. read more

Puckett's had been on my list for a while now and I'm glad it finally worked out. It's located right on the main strip in Pigeon Forge, amongst all the action. Make sure to secure a reservation online in advance to avoid waiting. Most everything our table ordered was absolutely delicious. The servers are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is minutes from Dollywood and popular with tourists and locals. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner and talking to the other guests I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were so good and creamy probably the best I have ever eaten. The shrimp were tasty but somewhat on the shrimpy side -- pun intended The brisket was nicely smoked with perfect burnt ends We ordered the Presley Parfait to share. Decided to give Puckett's a try despite the mixed reviews--unfortunately, it ended up being a disappointing experience. We waited about 45 minutes for a table, even though the restaurant was only half full, which was confusing from the start. Once seated, our waitress seemed overwhelmed and wasn't very helpful with the menu. At one point, we even had to take our own plates off her tray. There were several issues with our entrées. The pulled pork was mostly gristle, and there were mistakes with 2 other entrees that weren't corrected properly. Instead, the blame was placed on the kitchen without much effort to resolve it. To top it off, our checks were mixed up and incorrect. Overall, the experience fell short in both service and food quality. I'd recommend going elsewhere! read more

During a girls trip to Tennessee, we stopped by Puckett's for dinner and it was the best decision ever. We had an amazing server, Mackenzie. She was so kind and made our experience amazing. She made sure we were taken care of and was extremely efficient. In addition, the entire staff was a delight. They were all so kind and we loved getting to talk to them. Now... THE FOOD. Service was inadequate to say the least. Waitress was not very hospitable nor did she care about making sure our drinks were refilled as often as she should have. I ordered the shrimp and grits and when it first came out it was covered in what they called "Cajun seasoning", however it was not seasoning at all and instead was a salad of peppers and onions which covered more than half the plate of grits. I sent it back as I had asked for nothing on my food just the grits and shrimp. When the second plate came out it was not seasoned at all no salt, no pepper, no seasoning what so ever. It's a fast casual restaurant. You order at the counter right at the front door. Food is southern comfort food. The line gets a bit crazy but moves fast. You also need to order your drinks from the bar. Bar service was very slow. Food came pretty quickly. They had warned it takes 30 mins for the fried chicken but it came faster than expected. After having purchased Puckett's bbq sauce at my grocery store we decided to try the restaurant. I ordered the veggie plate with collards, mashed sweet potatoes, and potato salad. My son ordered a full slab of ribs, coleslaw and mac and cheese. All the veggies were good, the potato salad has a Cajun style seasoning in it, collards are fresh and not chopped mushy mess. The Mac and cheese was really good and tasted homemade. Our favorite only disappointment was the ribs. We are used to meaty juicy ribs and these ribs were not that. Then are long smoked over cherry wood and St. Louis style rather than baby back. So they had a good taste but needed a lot of sauce to not feel so dry in the mouth. Went to Puckett's after a long day of fishing in the sun (and later in the rain haha). After washing off, my friends and I were craving authentic southern food, and we had read a lot of reviews of this place on Yelp and TikTok that showed us a lot of promise. We don't typically eat southern food on a regular basis, but we have eaten from a lot of southern restaurants in the past. We walked in at about 4pm or so, it was kind of busy with a line to order food. When we walked in the line took us about 10 minutes with 2 groups in front us. Keep in mind that the line gets busy quick, with the line going out the door 1 hour after we arrived. Once you order food, you can find a table and hang up your table number so the servers know where to bring your food. After ordering food, we found a table and I went to the bar to get drinks. The drinks all looked super tasty, many of which were Ole Smokey Moonshine drinks. I ordered the Dreamsicle cocktail and a hard cider. The Dreamsicle was super tasty and did taste like a hard creamsicle, but it was super sweet and I felt like I needed to water it down a bit- especially because I know alcohol dehydrates me a bit. The cider was pretty refreshing and was semi-sweet. Their draft selection was a bit limited. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with Mac-n-cheese and baked beans. The southern fried chicken had crispy skin that was nicely seasoned. The white meat was a bit dry but I dunked it in BBQ sauce to mask that. Mac-n-cheese was creamy and melted in your mouth. Baked beans were also delicious and contained sausage. We also asked our server for dessert recommendations and he recommended the fried brownie and the peach cobbler. Mind you I love chocolate, but I was craving something fruity that day. Nevertheless, the fried brownie was phenomenal- it was hot and had a crisp layer of batter on top of it, it had pecans for an extra crunch, and the ice cream melted on top of the brownie adding a creamy flavor to it. My friend was adorable when she ordered the Strawberry Salad (had one bite) while I ordered the Slider Combo (one of each - brisket, pulled pork and hot link), the Mac & Cheese with Brisket and biscuit crumbles and Jalapeño Corn Patty, a Side of Greenbeans... and two sweet teas. FRUSTRATING. This was one of the worst restaurants we've experienced. We went there because all of the other restaurants in town had long waits. Puckett's was half empty, but we still waited 30 minutes to get seated. We ordered, and then waited LITERALLY an hour to get served. The other customers was also looking around. As we were driving to Pigeon Forge from Savannah, I started Yelping restaurants in the PF area. I had one picked out but the family saw Puckett's across the street from our hotel and wanted to try it out, so we decided to go there. We arrived at 6:00 on a Friday night and thought for sure we would have a wait; we were so wrong. There was only one family in front of us in line to order (ordering is done as you walk into the restaurant then a server will bring you your food). We ordered a chicken tender platter with fries, a classic burger with mashed potatoes, a BBQ platter with a smoked sausage and a piggy mac. We also had drinks (we loved the size of our drinks!). Our food arrived at our table about 10 minutes after ordering; the order was correct and our food was piping hot. Everything we ordered was made to perfection and everything was very good. My wife and daughter split a BLT with fried pickles. That was plenty food for us all (the sandwiches come with sides). The portions are huge! The food was average - not terribly remarkable.
