Great experience today. We ate there for lunch before hitting the outlet mall. My husband got the crab legs and ate every bite. Said he would definitely order it again. My daughter and I split the sampler which included fried calamari, crab dip and crab balls. The calamari was tender and delicious and the crab dip was probably the second best I have ever had. Honestly, the food was really good. And the waiter was so kind and knew how to do her job right. But, the rest of the staff either had an attitude or just sat there and did no help the other staff members who were doing their job. And the fact that they were understaffed and had 3-4 hour wait time was also insane. Basically to some It up the food was good, the waiter was nice, the wait was insane, and, some staff doesn't know how to act properly! Also to add the ending there was food and crayons on the floor from the people that sat before us. In my opinion, it did not meet the minimum requirements for hygiene and I believe the place needs to get A. More staff or B. A check by a supervisor. Or someone to fix it! read more

Great food at reasonable prices for a vacation area. With 6 kids and 4 adults, this is a great place to lunch since the playground keeps the kiddies occupied. Just had dinner here with my family and the service was terrible. I believe our servers name was Sarah. The place didn't seem that busy even though the wait was long but that wasn't a huge deal. We got sat down and waited at least 10 minutes before our server even came to see us. We were ready to order both drinks and food by that point. After we ordered we sat waiting for our drinks and we noticed Sarah just aimlessly walking around, stopping to chat with a coworker that was cleaning a table (it seemed like she was complaining about another table) she stops and talked to someone else and as she walks passed our table much later it's like it finally hit her we still haven't gotten our drinks. As we see her carrying our drinks we see her stop at another table and had a full conversation while her and the lady she was serving are leaning over our drinks talking. I understand covid rules have changed and people don't wear masks anymore but that doesn't mean I want people talking all over my drinks like that! Amazing food, 5/8 people in our group ordered the queen crab bucket and everyone agreed it was great. Our server recommended the crab seasoned with garlic and old bay and it was very good. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was delicious. Our server named Ryan was great, attentive without being overbearing. He always made sure our drinks were full and we had what we needed. Please beware. The service is the slowest I have ever experienced. The food was lackluster at best. Dry and old like it sat under heat lights for a prolonged time. I have been to several Joes in other cities and the food is usually pretty good. No 5 star but the kids eat it and are happy. My son and his friend at a shrimp or two and a fry and would not eat anymore. I had to order a pizza when we got back to the hotel. My fish and chips were disgusting as well. We travel a lot and by far this was the worst food we have ever attempted to eat. We ordered the crab with shrimp, potatoes (literally 3 pieces of each), one ear of corn and a sausage that looked like it had been floating in a river for a week. Everything on the plate was slimy and had an odor to it. Our son wanted crab legs and seemed to enjoy them but there was not much meat for the work it took to crack the crab legs open. This is a commercialized less than sub par food joint and we will not be returning. After $79 ($89 after tip) (water to drink and no appetizers) we left hungry and disgusted. We've been to this place a few times and every time was pretty good..... then there was tonight. We ordered our drinks and spent time trying to decide what to eat. When we ordered, my husband asked if he could get corn instead of coleslaw. They said no, but he could get it instead of the fries or additional would be $2. He ordered it in addition to the meal. It did not come out with the meal, but the woman who brought us our meals went back to check on it. She came back out and said, "It will be 35 seconds on that corn". 5 or 6 minutes later, no corn. When it finally came out it was cold. Mine was cold too. The snow crab had no flavor, but the Dungeness crab was pretty good. I spent the dinner cracking crab and swatting at flies. Evidently when they open their garage doors, several flies came in. I told the waitress and instead of doing something about it, she said, "Yes, when we opened the windows, it was really hot outside." WHAT!?!?!? What does that have to do with me swatting at flies the whole time I'm eating. We were the farthest away from the garage doors and If I wanted an outdoor experience, I would have sat over there. Next, she brought me a refill, sat it down and said, "Here's some more sweet tea." She left. Yes, it was sweet tea, but I ordered 1/2 tea 1/2 lemonade (Arnold Palmer). When she returned I said I ordered 1/2 and 1/2 and she said, "Oh is there not enough lemonade in it?" There wasn't ANY lemonade in it and it tasted like Sweet Tea without lemon. She made an excuse once again but did say she would go put more lemonade in it. Then we asked for a to-go cup. She said, "We don't do to-go cups because there have been those who put their liquor in the cups and take it with them." I had a quizzical look on my face as I looked at our drinks. My husband hadn't put any Rum in his coke and according to drink recipes an Arnold Palmer has no liquor either, so I'm not sure where the reasoning was; especially when there has to be To-Go drink cups for To-Go orders, right? So then we overheard her at the table nearby. She was arguing that they (Joe's) can't do that and it escalated. Evidently the group of folks had whatever they were asking for before and the waitress (ours) was saying, "I don't mean to argue with you, but we can't." They asked for the manager and she said "We have 6 managers, so I'm not sure they are here." She should know the manager on duty every day she works. She then came over to get our credit card and then went back over to them to discuss the matter some more. No, you take a credit card and go to the register and come back to that table. She made matters worse with them and didn't allow the manager to handle it and she took a credit card and proceeded to hold it while talking with another table. The manager did come by and listened very well. He didn't make excuses and he gave us certificates to come back again. That is what customer service should be. No excuses, just make it right. If I could give them a rating on different people / services I would rate as such: Management - 5 star Food - 3 star Service - 2 star Hopefully our next visit is like the first few we had. I did send corporate a note asking for screens on the windows or something to keep the flies out of the entire restaurant. read more

The issue we have with going to Joes Crab Shack is when you order a Big Daddy Feast of crab legs with potato's and corn for two people, it should have enough in it for two people. There were two small clusters of crab legs a few small pieces of potatoes and one ear of corn. To pay $60 for a meal that you leave still hungry is absurd. We weren't about to order anything else at these prices when the serving size does not match the price. Also we ordered apple martinis of which were made wrong and served a margarita glass. The server knew it was not right. She comped it off the bill. The issue here is management. Make sure your portions of food match the price. Make sure your bartenders know how to make the drinks and that you have the correct glasses to serve them in. Overall not a great experience. Not recommended!! read more
