I LOVE Joe's Diner. It is so amazingly cheap and really disproves the "You get what you pay for!". A cheese omelet is $3.75 and comes with hash browns and toast, and it is DELICIOUS. The servings, in my opinion, are pretty freakin' big. The toast was a bit soggy with butter, tasted more oily than anything, would have been better with a jam. The staff tries their hardest to accommodate seating for everything, because it tends to be packed. The staff is really friendly, and it feels like a familiar atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant, at least for breakfast. You have to try it at least once! UPDATE: Recently went back and the prices have raised drastically. Where I usually spent under $15 between myself and my boyfriend, the prices raised and my last visit was close to $40 for the same portion size. I came here one afternoon after a long night at work. I ordered the usual i get at every breakfast place: Ham, scrambled eggs, toast and home fries. I asked them to butter the toast which i felt was a bad move but did it anyway. When i got my plate, the ham had spots turning gray and had a glazed film on it multi colored in certain areas like the ham was old. I've had worse so I continue eating and I'm about done with the plate just a few potatoes and a piece of ham. I saw in my plate something that looked like onions in my home fries. i picked it up and looked closer...and I shit you not my friend, this onion had feelers! Talk about a good first time knowing i had maggots in my food. Now im thinking, how much of that did i eat? lol DONT GO TO JOE's DINER. read more

Been coming here for years, quick service, good breakfast food and great hours. Can come here for breakfast in the AM or late night after the bars close which is usually a packed house. Security at the door during the late night hours but haven't heard of many problems there. Overall would recommend it but there are a ton of breakfast options in Taunton. read more

A great place to go and relax and get a good tasting breakfast. The staff is friendly and always smiling. If you are looking to get that "old world" feeling and comfort, this is the place to go. We had a terrible experience today and won't be back. We ordered the Turkey dinner with butternut squash for 7.99. The food came out and it was summer squash. My lunch companion has dietary restrictions and couldn't eat the squash so we opted for the peas instead. The first bite of our mashed potatoes were cold so we sent our meals back. They came back scalding hot and our same plates had been clearly microwaved rather than replaced. My companions Turkey was hard and dry. Again he asked for a replacement, so they brought him two pieces of Turkey but didn't put any gravy on it. I tried in vain to get my waitresses attention, but she was preoccupied with ordering her own lunch. The cook himself finally brought out our peas. By this time we were disgusted and regretted even stopping here. But my companion is diabetic and had to eat. Oh and by the way, don't expect stuffing with your turkey dinner, because you will be disappointed like we were. The straw that broke the camel's back, though, was when we got the Bill. They charged us 8.49 each for a 7.99 dinner and we were told that was because we requested extra cranberry sauce because the portion that came with the meal was so miniscule. It's the atmosphere that would get me to come back, plus the home fries were obviously super seasoned - a good thing in my family. My hot turkey dinner was on stove top stuffing, so it was salty and easy for me to leave behind but the mashed potatoes, turkey and gravy were homemade and good. The green beans were out of a can. Greasy.....salty.....divey......not my cup of tea. The people were nice and friendly but the food was just ok. The portions are huge - def get a lot for your $. But if you are at all health conscious this is NOT the place for you. The cook uses a lot of oil when cooking and your bread comes slathered with butter. I come here almost always when I am in Taunton seeing the Goat Roper Band. We stop in after midnight and the atmosphere and food are both fantastic. We enjoy good conversation as my friend knows everyone there and its always just a refreshing time. As stated in other posts, this has that great diner quality, similar to the old Bel-Air in Peabody and the Agawan in Rowley. Menu is very good, but they'll make you what you want. Had breakfast here today with my daughter. When we were almost done with our food the waitress asked us if we wanted more coffee. She brought our coffee and took our bill to check out. When she returned she thanked us and said take your time and finish your coffee. About that time two people walked through the door and were waiting for a table. Not more the 2 minutes later another waitress comes over and tells us "if you are done eating there are people waiting" I have never been treated so rudely. They have about 12 booths and about twenty counter seats but always pack them into this small diner ever weekend night and week days.
