Update! The last takeout meal we ordered was the best yet. I had a Caesar salad that was amazing--not traditional, exactly, but delicious. Cold iceberg lettuce, plenty of dressing (no dinky cups needed) with great little croutons. Made in house? It was that delicious, and grated cheese on top (either Gouda or Mozzarella, but definitely mild and delicious. I'm hungry all over again. I ordered a combo with Canneloni, Ziti and Manicotti, cheesy and delicious as all their food. The best thing was the rolls (complimentary) which were better than ever. Soft and yeasty, buttered and beautifully dusty with Parmesan and garlic. I'm now officially starving! I'm sure we got tiramisu. It's terrific. I've never had a bad meal there, but this was exceptional. These folks are wonderful--and we've seen their kids grow up here. Practically the most wonderful thing of all was the absolutely professional, polished, and polite voice taking our phone order...the little girl who grew up into a polished and terrific young woman. The service- we had the server Lauren and she was great. Very friendly and helpful. The ambiance- we came and it was dead but the decor is nice. Food was sooooooo good and homemade. We tried the stuffed mushrooms and had a pizza as appetizers. All entrees come with a salad and bread. I ordered the shrimp fettuccine and it was so creamy. Not dry or oily. I loved it. Stopped in here for a quick lunch on a roadtrip. They have a bunch of parking in front of the restaurant as well as a block or so back off the street. We came on a Thursday during lunch so wasn't too busy. The waitresses were quick to greet us and help us figure out what spot would be best. We got a pizza, shrimp spaghetti, shrimp tortellini, and a calzone. They give out complimentary bread too which was DELICIOUS! We loved how flaky the crusts and breads were with perfect salt to garlic ratio. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! Great food, great people. Surprisingly good in fact. I tried several dishes while here, all were fantastic. Try the spaghetti works. I know spaghetti sounds very pedestrian but the "works" is different. It's spaghetti noodles with Italian sausage, meat sauce, mushrooms and meat balls. You will run out of noodles before you run out of meat. We were all impressed and were no strangers to Italian food (my folks lived in Italy a few times) and we dine in Chicago regularly. Highly recommend this place. Pro tip: bring your own bottle of wine. The owners kids work here so they can't serve but you can bring what you need. read more

We stopped in Brady while traveling and my husband went inside Joe's to use the restroom. Next thing I knew, he was calling me saying that the people inside were so nice and cool, that he ordered us some food. He got pizza and said it was amazing and since I'm gluten free, he ordered me a Cesar Chicken Salad. My Salad was so good, the chicken, black olives and cheese, I could tell are real, good quality ingredients. Their prices are fair, their food tastes great and they're kind people. OMG. This place is amazing. Run by a nice Albanian family who knows how to prepare Italian food! I had the Chicken Parmigiana. To die for! Cheese was amazing and the pasta was great as well. The rolls were soft and tasty. Atmosphere is cool and unexpected for this small Texas town. My daughter had a cheese pizza and it was so good- tasted as good as any pie I'd had in NYC. We tried their pasta, pizza and cheese cake. Even the complimentary garlic breads are super tasty, they have literally melted in mouths. Loved the hospitality and staff is super friendly. We had a 14inch pizza with mushroom topping and chicken pasta made with white wine sauce they are simply extraordinary. It's been so long since I had something that blown my taste buds. What a pleasant surprise in Brady! We brought our own bottle of Cabernet and had a lovely Saturday night dinner of modesty priced solid Italian. Garlic knots were followed by fresh mushroom caps stuffed and topped w marinara and baked mozzarella. I had chicken piccata that the house added artichoke hearts to complete per my request, hubby had a combo plate to try a few dishes. Located in the heart of Texas at Brady, this little gem is worth a stop. We stopped on our way to the Austin area for a long weekend vacation. Atmosphere: From the old brick walls to the wooden floors, the restaurant is in an old main street store front, the place exudes small town Texas. 1 Star Food: Lets just start with the 2 biggest highlights of the meal. The pesto sauce that can be ordered with the amazing rolls and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were incredible. The pesto sauce was more of a olive oil infused with chopped garlic and herbs, but it had soooo much flavor! We also ordered some Calamari which was also quite good with some crushed red pepper in the breading. As a party of 9 we had a taste of most of the menu. The highlights included the marinara sauce and the baked ziti. The rest of the items were appetizing, but maybe a bit bland and uneventful. Take the meatballs for example, they were very large but just seemed very toned down in taste. If I add meatballs to a spaghetti plate, I want a good zing from the sausage and steadfast filling from the beef and herbs. These weren't that. Still good food. 1 Star Service: Let me just tell you about Julia. She was fantastic. She was funny and inviting. She made very good suggestions (she told us to get the pesto sauce) and described each dish perfectly. A real charm to have for a Sunday lunch. 2 Stars ------------------------ My rating system: Up to 1 star for atmosphere (Let's face it, I could eat Franklin BBQ on a dirty napkin while sitting in the bed of my truck.) Up to 2 stars apiece for both food and service (these are the two things that will either drive me away or reel me back in) 1 Star-Wouldn't let my dog eat here 2 Star-Below average-usually something really struck me as being bad and I doubt I would ever return. 3 Star-Average-Might come back. Joe's is my biggest weakness! We are EXTREMELY lucky to have this place in this itty bitty town. My husband is a local and had never tried this place until I was pregnant and had an intense need for GOOD pizza. Staff is great. Food is even better! The pizza is FANTASTIC! Lasagna, yummm! Anything with Alfredo, perfection! I could live off the stuffed mushrooms in Alfredo sauce. And have yet to have one of the chicken dishes that weren't amazing! It might seem a little pricey, but you could easily make two meals out of what they bring you. The meatballs are just a little smaller than tennis balls for those of you that like them.
