Went with two friends for lunch. Finally got the waiter to smile at us. The place was empty. Homemade potato chips are amazing !!! Fries are delicious!! Potato pierogies were great! Black and blu burger was not that great but all and all a good experience. Good neighborhood place. read more

So after hearing about this place from several friends we decided to go check the place out. The menu choices would look familiar to anyone from the Pittsburgh area. We ordered the perogies, fish and chips, and a salad with chicken and of course fries on it. I have to say I was not impressed with the perogies. They are served "dry" with a small container of sour cream and another container of what may have been butter. I had asked for onions, and when I questioned our waitress, she pointed to the butter looking liquid and said they were "in there". The fish and chips were nothing special, the chips were a batter coated french fry and I would have expected a bigger portion of fish for the price as well as a better choice of product for the "chips". read more

Worst pierogies I've ever eaten. They looked like flat greasy pancakes semi filled with some kind of potato and what tasted like Kraft American cheese. The dough was thick and raw tasting. There was just no flavor. Wasn't impressed with the chipped chopped ham sandwich either. Won't be back. The price of $7 for 4 nasty pierogies was ridiculous. read more

A definite Pittsburgh sports bar with all the best Pittsburgh food such as homemade peirogies, isaly's chipped ham (real chipped ham, not what what you get at the counter of Harris Teeter), and what looks to be a home made Primanti brothers sandwich. Been going here for a few years...bring friends and we do enjoy Amy and Lucian the bartenders. But today the male bartender was rude when I asked for my half poured Guinness that sat there for about. 6 minutes because he forgot...he said "can I get you some food" I had just asked for my beer first and then he rudely replied "well I was gonna wait 7 minutes to pour a Guinness". Yeah the perfect Guinness 20 ounce pour is 2 minutes. Then walked away an snickered to the other lady working there and never returned. Also their Guinness is a 12.5 ounce glass. Any who how we will just spend our money some place else...sucks for the people we do enjoy there. read more

A nice comfortable clean environment to have a beer, watch some sports, and eat some above average bar food, especially the pirogues and cheese steaks. I will defiantly be back when football cranks up. read more

We went for the half priced pierogi for lunch on a Monday. First, no one greeted us when we walked in. The lone server/bartender just looked at us from behind the bar as she was talking to someone. Since no one came to help us we assumed we should seat ourselves. Every table but one was dirty. When ordering the pierogi, you should know that the hot pierogi are served on top of sour cream. By the time it made it to our table the sour cream was warm and separated (not sure why this isn't served on the side?). The fish and chips were awful. The fries were fine, but the fish was saltless and tasteless. It had clearly been sitting under the salamander for a while because the accompanying coleslaw was hot. The teriyaki boneless wings on the other hand were so incredibly salty we had to remove the breading. While there we made it a game to see if we could use various items to kill the abundant flies that surrounded us. Probably a great place for a beer, but we did not enjoy our meal. read more

This is the only place in Wilmington with decent to good pierogies, but i'm spoiled having grown up in NYC with an actual Eastern European community who make outstanding pierogies. Alas i'm in the south, so this will do. It's nice enough for a lame sports bar, mostly because the food is quite good. Unfortunately there's some sort of Pittsburgh crowd and you hear the weirdest things. Some young girl is always there, short black hair, talking about how "Sambo" isn't a racist term because they make a white version of those Sambo statues up in Pittsburgh, too bad she can't remember the name. I have been here several time the food is good and sometimes great and the atmosphere is great. During the week only keep a count of your drinks they like to add 2 to 3 extra drinks. I was there for 1.75 hours and got a bill for 6 drinks that they were out of for over an hour. The staff fixed the billing, but it happens during the week and I and I mean every week. But on the weekends there is no issues. read more

This place has a great pub atmosphere and a menu that includes items you can't normally find in this area (i.e. Pierogies, Hot Pastrami) and their wings are the best in town and this is coming from a Buffalo transplant. It's definitely a Pittsburgh themed bar/restaurant but I'd take that over a Boston/New England theme. read more

I stopped in from out of town thinking I could eat and drink while watching the game. Go Steelers!! I only knew about the place because a friend of mine works there and told me about it. I don't know if their food is good or bad. I don't know about their drinks. I guess because a server was sitting talking to me, some woman who didn't smile, introduce herself, or indeed say anything AT ALL began to pile little cowbells all over my table. I can only guess that meant "get out" or " we don't want you here"? I have money, I was freshly showered and even had on a penguins t-shirt? Wtf? Not a nice place. It took the waiter over 20 min to take our order after taking our drink order despite getting his attention two different times. One person in our party ordered a steak fajita only to be told it's no longer on the menu, despite the fact that is is still clearly listed. OK changed to chicken. Another person ordered pierogis, a signature item, only be told they were out. Um, this is a signature item and it was Thurs and not busy....how can they be out. The only reason we went was for that menu item. When questioned he said it was because they sell them for $1.00 a pierogi on Monday.....hello this was Thurs. So we said we were leaving and he charged $3.25 for a $2.00 beer. When questioned he said that was the price, when instead he should have given the beer on the house. Why wouldn't a good server tell you ahead of time at 6:00 on a weekend night items they were out of at the time. If we didn't pay for a coupon on line we would never go back. This is a cute, clean looking place but don't be fooled! Worst meal EVER. The peirogies were flat, dry and tasteless. I got a Reuben which looked good but was so dry I almost choked, as well the presentation looked like they'd dropped it on the floor, scooped it up and slung it on the plate. What there was of the Corned Beef was good but such a tiny amount, hard to pay over $10 for a sandwich when it seemed to be more bread than anything and not the traditional Rye it's supposed to come on. The service was horrid, the waitress quite obviously hates her job....don't know if it's because of poor management or she's just burned out on it, either way, it's not supposed to be our problem. She never returned and asked how our food was, we had to flag her down for a couple more drinks; we had 4 total and were charged for 6 when the bill came. The server took care of it but without a single smile or apology Hubby had the Fish -n- Chips, greasy and an awful tiny piece of fish for a right high price. The food seems to be a good quality but they price it as if there are gold nuggets in it....and there were NOT! All in all, we paid over $50 for a miserable experience, will never try this again! read more

Went to the restaurant sunday 6/22. Place was busy due to usa world cupmatch. Surprised to see only one server and no bartender. Obviously no dress code as the server was wearing t- shirt 2 sizes too small and her bare stomach hanging over her jeans. Not too appetizing. The poor girl was doing her best as she was the only person working other than the kitchen guys. Took about 45 minutes to get our appetizer and food. The potato skins we ordered were over cooked and not fresh. Not sure what the turkey dish I ordered was but it had some strange sauce with old tasting turkey and under- cooked whole pieces of bacon. My wife did say her black bean burger was good but server never returned to refill her water. I will be surprised if this place is open very long as the owners obviously don't care enough to properly staff the place and pay attention to food quality. Needless to say we will never go back. P.
