This used to be my fav place to eat. The chicken modega is great. Tortellini is good too. There modega steak sandwich is a joke. They don't even cut the steak up so ur left with a hard piece of steak and some bread that it slips out of. So dumb. Also NEVER EVER get tots or fries from here Togo. The are 100% of the time nasty cold and soggy every time and trust me I've been coming here for years. Usually only get napkins about 50% of the time on Togo orders aswell. The wife and I stopped in on a recent Sunday because we were starving and needed some fuel to carry on with the chore of Christmas present shopping. It was a happy time because the kids spent the night at the in-laws. We'd been without them for nearly 17 hours so we were cheery and in a semi-hurry to eat and get to the last store so we could pick them up before the grandparents were thoroughly exhausted. It was sort of crowded, but we were seated promptly at a table by a lovely hostess. We sat and talked and watched some football. We watched waitress after waitress go past us and wondered when one would make eye contact with us or tell us that she was our server and that she'd be with us soon. After 10 minutes without being acknowledged, we'd decided to pass on an appetizer but we knew what we would order when that time came. After 5 more minutes, that time still hadn't come...nobody came to wait on us or tell us that they would be waiting on us in the near future. An exasperated woman at the table next to us told a hurried server that she was still waiting for boxes and their bill, and when the server retorted rather rudely that she'd be with them as soon as she could, I guessed that she would be our server if we stuck around, and I didn't want my Christmas joy sapped by an overwhelmed, pissy server. The wife and I both waited tables in a previous life, so we get it. Still, to not be acknowledged at all after 15 minutes was reason enough to leave on this day and maybe try it again some other time. We're all entitled to bad days or maybe it was just a bad moment in an otherwise fine day, but still, this particular trip was a fail. read more

Every time I go to Joey B's the food and the staff are great. So when I decided to order carry out I expected it to be the same. I was disappointed. I called in my order at 6:10pm and was told it would be 30min for a burger and a hot sandwich. That's not to bad. I'm Sure they were busy. I arrived at 6:45 and gave them my name for the order. After 10 min someone came over and took my money and then finally another 5 min later my food was brought out. The burger was cold, the tater tots were cold and mushy. The hammer was cold and hard as a rock and the fries were inedible. I will not be ordering takeout from Joey B's any longer. read more

This Joey Bs location has in the past changed hands between 5 or 6 times. The quality has varied as has the level of service. Now, I finally have a location much closer than "the Hill" to get great food from a wide variety of items on the menu. If you visit do NOT overlook the small part of the menu which is titled "Blue Plate Specials". These are very good food, large portions and reasonably priced. read more

Joey B's in South County was my first introduction to the Gianino family chain of restaurants and it was a pleasant one for the most part. I seem to be the only one who was unaware of the South County location because it doesn't seem to be struggling for business. I came here with my family on a Saturday night for dinner and we ended up leaving because the wait to get seated was too long. Undeterred, we came for lunch the next day and while still crowded, we were able to grab a seat at the bar while we waited. Joey B's design seems to be a cross between a typical South County bar restaurant and a more refined dining restaurant. The decor is modern and more fancy than a typical bar or chain restaurant. In this identify crisis, the Moscow Mule somehow got lost in the mix to my disappointment. I settled for a Schlafly IPA on tap instead. When we got seated, I ordered their special which was a Southwest burger with blackened beef patty, avocado, and egg. The burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. The egg was perfectly cooked and the avocado and pickles complimented the blackened meat very well adding a freshness and depth to the each bite. The burger itself was slightly overcooked than the medium-well I requested, but there was enough flavor and depth to the seasoning that it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the burger. I also tried the Jalapeno burger and the Sirloin sandwich. I wasn't as big of a fan of the jalapeno burger, which seems to be a popular choice, because I expected more spiciness given that the beef patty is stuffed with jalapenos and the cheese is a jalapeno cheddar. I could definitely taste the jalapeno flavor but none of the spiciness. The sirloin sandwich was too dry for me, but that may be attributed to it being well done. I would have still liked a sauce or something of that nature. I did like the garlic bread, it was nice and crispy. The service was acceptable, but spotty at times. I don't normally advocate for rewards programs, but Joey B's has a rewards card which earns you a point for each dollar spent and 10$ for each 100 points you earn, giving you a 10% discount essentially. I may have to come drink here more often. Overall, I would recommend checking this place out, preferably on off hours to avoid the rush. read more

I've been to Joey B's a few times. Always have a good experience. I've had the pizza a few times. Usually can never finish it and end up taking home leftovers. Since I met my wife here for our first date, it's a tradition for us to stop in every year for cocktails and a meal. We were here a couple weeks ago. I had the Rueben and fries and she had a burger along with a side salad. Everything was great. The service was very good and our drinks were cold and tasty. A friend and I decided to dine here for lunch. They are locate in the building that use to house Tsevis grill. They are located in a strip mall so parking can be a bit odd. We started with the fried ravioli. they were sooooo good. I got the Hammer Sandwich. For anyone who has ever had the Gerber at Ruma's will like this sandwich. It is an open faced sandwich. First they take a whole loaf of garlic bread, top it with ham, top that with provolone cheese. I added fried onion and mushrooms to mine. i had to take half the sandwich home due to humongous portions. Awesomeness is the only word I can use. The service was a bit slow, but it was a 12:30p and the middle of the lunch rush. If you want to sit on the patio get there early. The patio fills up fast and if you are adamant to sit out there you will have a wait. read more

The new location has a nice patio (that I planned on sitting on until I realized I would have to fight off the cicadas. Yikes.) and is close to my parents' house so I decided to give it a try. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The service gets an A+. They just opened and look like they have a lot of people in training - including our waitress. Usually when your server is in training, there is this other server following them around awkwardly. But at Joey B's it wasn't awkward at all. In fact, they both introduced themselves and told us that she was training... and they were super friendly and brought me a new drink every time I was low. Speaking of drinks.... I had an Arnold Palmer. I forgot how much I liked those. Hmmmm. The food was equally good. HUGE portions, but good. We had a ginormous stack of onion rings for an appetizer and I had the pulled pork sandwich for dinner. Delicious. We were looking for a good place with a patio. Having eaten here a few times before, we thought we'd try it for the patio this time. We were seated right away. It was gorgeous 72 out and immediately served water. Our waitress was attentive and the food was good. I had the turkey bacon wrap & tater tots. I really enjoyed my food. Hubs had Firecracker chicken & fries, which he liked as well. There isn't anything special about Joey B's, they have a good selection of different foods and the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. We haven't had a chance to try the alcoholic beverages, but the bar looks nice and they have a good selection of liquors. They could def do something to make themselves unique, but it doesn't disappoint if you're just out for food & conversation. read more

Not sure what all the ranting & raving is about this place. Had a co-worker mention it, so it was our first time, but I don't think my husband & I will be back. I ordered the roast beef w/ fries; He ordered the southern fried steak. My fries were room temp, and hard because of it. The roast beef was decent, but nothing amazing. Husband said the same about his- it was okay but nothing great. Said he could it make it at the house. Again- not terrible but during dinner we both had wished we had chosen somewhere else. I will say they do have lots to choose from on the menu, which is nice, but I truly wonder how much of it is homemade/made in house and not pre-packaged and frozen. Beyond the food, we were told a 20 minute wait and waited 40. Didn't realize the served a basket of bread until our waitress asked us if we wanted it now or with our food. I feel as if this should automatically be brought out, otherwise whats the point of a bread basket? I don't want bread with my main meal. After seeing it on anothers table, I could care less. Its sliced white bread with prepackaged butter. What the? Why even? A tad irrelevant but I do feel atmosphere matters, and the music selection was so awful. Eminem, bebe rexha, and halsey. I imagine the staff makes the playlist, if I had to guess. Not sure how the persistent & higher percentage of the older crowd we saw there stands it. The outdoor seating is nice I will say but we didn't choose it because husband was getting bit up as we were waiting outside. Maybe need some tiki torches or candles? i was fine but could see it being a concern. Above it all, waitress also wasn't even noticeable, pretty non existent. I dont think ive left such a small tip ever. Someone else had left a review about karaoke, and I'm assuming the responder is the owner saying they dont do karaoke so he has the wrong place. I came back today and on a very busy lunch rush we were seated right away, great service today and I ordered the Hawaiian chicken without ham, it says there is supposed to be terayaki sauce on the chicken but there was none, so the chicken was super dry. I didn't like this sandwich. The roast beef my cousin got looked fairly good. I always try something new each time I come here, they do have a very large menu. I just was a little disappointed but I would try again it seems like a local very busy restaurant that everyone likes. read more

Very good experience. We were there for lunch on a Monday- seated immediately in a booth - service was great food was great. WINGS: we got the trashed - they were REALLY good! Came out piping hot and the meat practically fell off the bone - great flavor, very crispy outside and juicy inside. Ordered the cheeseburger - medium - very juicy and flavorful- the fries were very good - just regular good old fries like the old days - no weird fry stuff. Ranch is very good - nice and thick. We were in and out quickly and still got to take our time. Service was great. It was definitely an older crowd for lunch today - very cute. read more

Here again tonight and the food was amazing!!! We started out a bit rough, we were sat quite quickly ....and then lost the n the shuffle of servers being let go for the night- seems we came just after the dinner rush hour ...boo!!! After asking for a server we lucked up and got one...she was nice enough but her approach to us was a bit uncomfortable---she explained that we weren't in her assigned area but she would help us out.......hmmmmm not an actual warm and fuzzy "yeah I am here and happy to be here".....however we love the food here and the from other locations....so we chatted a bit with the waitress. At the end of our visit I say the food was great as always!!!! The waitress never let the glasses run dry.....so we enjoyed ourselves well. I would suggest to this restaurant and very others 1 suggestion.....don't sweep when people are eating!!!!! It is so very rude to flip the floor crap up in the air while folks are enjoying their meals ......I get that one needs to clean an area after a mess was made .....but surely someone has invited a way to clean with a broom on carpet!!!JS read more

Joey B's is a great casual restaurant that offers a wide variety of menu options. I have tried several things and have never been disappointed. Several of my friends have concurred that everything they have tried is great. There is a very nice patio that is open during warmer months. Most recently I visited in December and the restaurant was very nicely decorated for the holidays. I always join the waitlist through the Yelp app and that way I am seated almost immediately after arriving. read more

I love this place! I began coming here about 3-4 years ago and I've never been disappointed. Their service has always been good and they have a large variety of selections on their menu.... anything from wings to pasta to sandwiches to pizza (home made) to fried chicken dinners. There is something for everyone. You can go with friends, on a date or with your family. They have plenty of tv's if you like sports. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and atmosphere. However, they tend to fill up quickly at peak times, so ho early. read more

Unlike my previous 5 star review(s),this trip to Joey B's was very different. If the food wasn't so darned good, I'd have given it a 1 or 2. It was a beautiful evening so we decided to wait for a patio table even though there were inside tables available. It took a while to place our drink and appetizer order but our waitress Jill did have a couple other big tables she was handling. We ordered another round of drinks and the Mojo wings. The patio was unusually loud as we had a table with a whining baby behind us and a table of ladies celebrating a birthday to our side. Nothing to hold against the restaurant as it's not something they can control(and we know what it's like bringing kids to a restaurant). It took quite a while to get our drinks and even longer to get the appetizer. Finally Jill came back and apologized for the delay in getting the wings and asked if we wanted to order. My wife and I got the Steak Modiga a my daughter ordered the ravioli stuffed with portobello. We also ordered another round of drinks. Shortly after we ordered the wings came and they were great as always. Our salads came out very promptly. After a very long wait our Steak Modiga arrived but nothing for our daughter. She said it would be right out so our daughter told us to start without her so our food wouldn't get cold. 15 minutes later her food still wasn't there and we were almost finished so we flagged the waitress down and my daughter said to cancel her order as the rest of us were almost finished with dinner. She apologized again and then 2 minutes later the pasta arrived. Jill didn't come back again for another 5 minutes or so and said "0h good your food came, would you like a box?" She said sure, and after another delay she came out with the box and a check which included the full price of the pasta that had been cancelled. We made a couple of comments and our waitress just blew it off like I can't control what the kitchen does. Since we had about $80 In rewards money accumulated I decided to use it as we may choose to eat elsewhere after this experience. read more

I expect it to crowded on a Sat afternoon so no complaints waiting for a table. But some of the food was cold or just not as hot as expected. You can call the pizza squared or round or whatever but does look like the menu pics. Nice and toasty baked cheese. Ours was barely melted cheese that did not seam warm at all. And just could not have been any thinner. Such a copy cat to other pizza places and obviously this is a copy cat of Joe Boccardi's. I just got a bad one and wont be back unless the pizza can grow some dough. Meatball sub looked good though. read more

This place has pretty much any food you want...in South County (respectively) This is one of the many Gianino's Family Restaurants...they serve you HUGE portions for reasonable prices. Joey B's is along the line of Billy G's, it's brother restaurant. A little more upscale than your average bar on one side/family restaurant on the other. A large variety of options to choose from and they are all (yes, I've probably had at least a few bites of most of the items on the menu) pretty darn good! If you are looking for a healthy meal, this is probably not your place (although they do have a vegan option on burgers and salads) but if you are looking for some good (not spectacular- but good) and good service, this is your place. Who on earth would venture into popular Joey B's on Father's Day? We did, it was packed, and we would do it again. The staff were all one synchronized, well-oiled, group-seating, customer-serving, cheerful machine. We ordered fried chicken salads, trashed wings, triple decker club, onion rings, and an off menu wrap by request. The wait was brief, service was friendly, food was delicious. Families we saw seemed to be just as happy. I recommend them without hesitation. We've always been pleased and we'll be back! read more
