Who on earth would venture into popular Joey B's on Father's Day? We did, it was packed, and we would do it again. The staff were all one synchronized, well-oiled, group-seating, customer-serving, cheerful machine. We ordered fried chicken salads, trashed wings, triple decker club, onion rings, and an off menu wrap by request. The wait was brief, service was friendly, food was delicious. Families we saw seemed to be just as happy. I recommend them without hesitation. We've always been pleased and we'll be back! read more

On a sunday, my husband and i planned on dining at hokkaido however the menu and price just wasnt what we were looking for. We are new in town, and had never been to Joey Bs so decided to give it a try. Granted we spent more at joeys than at hokkaido, however we both agree it was well worth the price paid. The portions were very large, and cooked well. We tried a little of everything, but mt favorite was the beer cheese soup.looking forward to a return visit. read more

Been there once before with my mom and sister - excellent food selection and got turkey wrap, very delicious! Went there again recently with my husband for a dinner date after the movies, it was very busy on that afternoon the day before New Year's Eve especially with families being in town for the holiday. We fell off coming to JBs for a while and decided to go by this evening. We remember why now. Nothing has been updated or changed since they opened years ago. Pastas are way to heavy. Chicken parmigiana has a thick deep fried breading. There are really no healthy choices on their menu. Salads are good but still had the inconsistencies they've always had. I'm glad I got the one lacking cheese. The other salad had probably 5-6 ounces which had to be left on the plate. Way too much to eat. One in our party also had soup. Very thick and not soup like. But pretty good flavor. Probably the best thing of all dishes ordered. read more

Joey Bs is what you would expect from a bar with a connection to The Hill - the place looks like a bar and grill, but the food is definitely a step above others. I've been here many times and have never had anything that wasn't very tasty. The item that stands out in particular though is their pizza: thin and crispy, covered in gooey provel and fresh toppings, cooked until a slight brown on the cheese, and rectangular. Normally I love JoeyB's not tonight my salad was drenched in dressing I ordered nachos and asked to hold jalapeños it came out loaded with them and covered in onions I just scrapped it all off nachos themselves were cold my husband steak sandwich was cold but we sent it back and got a new one which was great read more

Always great food, great service and did I say good. Went the other day with a friend I haven't seen in a while. So, as women do we talked, a lot. Our server I think her name was Bethany. She was just patient with us, because again we where talking and hadn't looked at the menu. She gave us sometime and we then ordered. I got the buffalo chicken pizza and my friend had the veggie. We both got large, because it's a bout $2 more. I love that the buffalo pizza comes out with celery on it. We got the gooey butter for dessert and it was fabulous, it also had a strawberry sauce on the plate that made it even better. read more

Excellent food. The pizza is among the top 3 I've ever had (and I've had a LOT of pizza). Thursday is live music night and the music is kinda loud but never bad. We've been back to Joey B's a few times now, so it's time for an update. The food is generally pretty good, but the service is spotty. Maybe I'm just a grump, but I get really irritated when the restaurant is on a wait, but at the hostess station it's party time. They could be out there helping clear plates, fill waters, bus tables, whatever it takes to move things along. Maybe I wouldn't mind it if was one person, but it was THREE essentially non-contributing employees in a packed house. This has been the case on a two or three occasions. We got the Shrimp Spedini. The shrimp were excellent - just perfectly cooked and seasoned. BUT they came on a bed of flashfried spinach. Great idea, but there was so much butter on it, it was really inedible. Every bite was like it came with a teaspoon of melted butter. Our daughter had the grilled cheese and fries and loved it. We'll probably come back because most of the food we've gotten here has been good. But it will probably be when we know it's not busy. read more

Joey B's in SoCo is way different than the original Joey B's downtown. Same food, good service, yet not a place I'd go to pre-gaming before going out on a Saturday night. This south county location feels more like a restaurant than a bar. This place you actually take kids. The buffalo chicken pizza is still my favorite thing to eat. Joey B's provides comfort food as decent prices. It reminds me of an Applebee's but with a little bit better atmosphere. This place runs the gamut of "American Food" without seeming to specialize. You can have wings, rings, skins, ravioli, pizza, grilled chicken, fried chicken, fish, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, steaks, pasta - WHATEVER! So, yes there is probably something for everybody but nothing stands out as being their thing. The fact that they call themselves an "Italian" place seems a little arbitrary. We went on a Tuesday trivia night which was fun and the bar was lively. I had the Firecracker Chicken, and my companions ordered a burger and the country fried chicken respectively. The place gets a nice bonus for portion size as nobody finished their meals but the food was just okay. The fries with the burgers were plentiful (like giant mounds of fries more than any human should ever eat!) but undercooked and the chicken was tender though not very flavorful - it was like a plain, unseasoned, chicken breast, then smothers in a house BBQ Style Sauce. The sauce was good but the meal as a whole was unimpressive. The country fried chicken has the nicest presentation and a nice variety since it came with 2 sides. The beer selection was also pretty crummy. Boring mass produced american beer on tap and then an okay selection of bottles, surprisingly which didn't feature much in the way of local beers which as both puzzling and a shame as STL has some fantastic breweries. They had a single Schalfly tap and a single 4 Hands can. This seems like a place where they could easily improve their selection. Ultimately this place isn't bad, it just ins't great. The food wont leave you dying to come back and if you like craft beers it doesn't provide that either. It's just a basic bar with fairly basic food - though it does provide a huge selection and abundant portions which is a plus. I would come back to this place on a trivia night for the atmosphere and if they have events on other nights I would check those out too. If I'm just looking for good food or a good beer selection there are a ton of places that do it better so this likely wont make my regular rotation. read more

Joey Bs is part of a locally owned sports bar/casual Italian restaurant chain. The decor is casual chain restaurant-esque with flat screen TVs. a bar. a large dining area, and a patio over the parking lot of a strip mall. The menu consists of standard pizza, salad, sandwiches and pasta fare. The burgers are big. The pastas are heavy and rich and the sandwiches are similar to what you might find in a restaurant chain (large and predictable). The sliders appetizer is a good deal with four decent size burgers and a large pile of onion straws. This is around ten bucks and can be shared between 3-4 people for a more than ample light meal. Unlike the other locations, this Joey Bs is kid friendly and is conveniently located in a strip mall across from Ronnie's (a large theater). So, Joey Bs is a good option for a family meal with a movie. Prices are a little high for the quality of food, but the portions are large and can be shared. read more

I've visited Joey Bs several times since this spring, and it's great for a group of people as there are many options. The atmosphere is nice enough if you are in a family or group setting. I met a friend there recently and enjoyed the patio for the first time. There was a musician performing and he wasn't too loud, which I appreciated. My disappointment came with my steamed broccoli and how it was served. I ordered their Hawaiian chicken sandwich which is DELICIOUS. But it came without the broccoli. When the broccoli was being brought to the table, I could smell that it was too old/rotten. The server didn't give me a chance to question - she dropped it and took off. After I cut into the broccoli I confirmed that it was too old and wasn't safe to eat. It took a few minutes for the server to return, and I told her the broccoli was bad and asked for french fries instead. She offered no apology and seemed miffed that I wasn't satisfied with old, smelly food. How could she not have smelled that it wasn't right when she brought it to me? So, I'm undecided if I will return. read more

Last Sunday we did the tour de sports bar trying to find a decent place to catch the Cards game. Our first stop was some place called the Upper Deck in South County. It was back off the road, above an ice rink and smelled of B.O. and failed dreams. Also it was closed, despite the sign saying "Open nightly until 1 am." I actually would like to go there sometime, just because it's such an oddball location and I think I saw a Golden Tee machine. But I digress. Second stop was HotShots South County. In a word? Gross. Gross smelling, gross atmosphere, gross old men hitting on waitresses young enough to be their granddaughters. Gross. We did one lap to look for seats and we were outta there. Enter Joey B's South County. This was my second visit here and I've been happy with them both times. The first was some random Thursday night and my only complaint was that when I came out of a bathroom stall, some 60ish year old woman in heavy makeup and gypsy jewelry informed me that God had sent me to that bathroom with a very specific purpose: to help said 60ish year old woman divorce her lying, cheating husband. For a full ten minutes I was trapped in there trying to convince her not to stab him to death in his sleep, all the while sure that I was going to be murdered and left for dead in a South County bathroom, just like my mom always said I would be. Again I digress. Having survived that interaction, I had a new found appreciation for sweet, fragile life and affordable drinks. Joey B's has a great bar, friendly bartenders and my glass never sat empty. It draws a good crowd for games, and it was fun to be at a place that was crowded, but not to the point where the service suffered. Food was pretty good, especially the firecracker chicken sandwich. To wrap it up: if you're looking for a fun, reliable spot to watch a game in the South County area, give Joey B's a try. Just be careful in the bathroom. read more

Just went again tonight after a hard Wednesday at work. Got there in time for a solid 1.5 hours of cheap vodka and soda waters (2.50)! Had the chicken pesto wrap again which was seriously delicious! But, this time we got the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was my first time trying it and wowie it was delish. Amy and I had dinner last night with Bill & Lynette. Celebrating Lynette's promotion they choose Joey B's. We waited 30 minutes for a table. We had drinks at the bar. Nice bar, lots of tvs. Amy and Bill had the Ravioli Prosciutto. They both enjoyed and took some home. I had Lasagna, pretty good, good size. Lynette had the Pasta Con Broccoli. WOW. Huge portion. Overfilled the serving platter. Easily a pound and a half. JEEEZ. Lynette really enjoyed it and took home 2 containers. We will go back. Wait staff was great. Katelynn was super sweet and efficient. This is a great South County place. We ran into our neighbors and old family friends that we hadn't seen in ages! We had a large party of 12 and decided to arrive early for dinner (5:30pm). We are definitely glad we did because there was an hour wait. There were a bunch of huge college football games going on and we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind and understood why there would be a wait. Food was pretty good. The portions are definitely huge. The batter on the onion rings could have been better. There wasn't much flavor in the giant donut sized onion ring. I got the house salad and loved every bit of it. Great place to have a good time with a group of people, but make sure you know what's going on in the world of sports before you go. read more

Very rarely do I give bad reviews because I know some things can't be helped but when I happened upon Joey B's today, I left an unhappy customer. Due to the world cup, I showed up before the rest of my group (3 people) did to get a table. The restaurant was practically empty, the bar had more customers due to the game so I was able to get a great seat. Our waitress, Jennifer, promptly asked for my drink order and I got it pretty quick. The rest of my party joined me about 5 minutes later and we got our entire order in because we were in a hurry as they only had an hour for lunch. We told her that. We didn't get out of there until 1 1/2 hours later, not by our faults either. Our food took a good 45 minutes to arrive at the table. I would have understood better if the place was packed but it only got more crowded once the food had arrived. One of our persons ordered brocolli; needless to say it was cold, the butter not melted and she said it was like eating it raw but knowing how long it took to get the food originally, we didn't say anything. By then we only had 15 min for the group to eat and go. Luckily I didn't have to be anywhere right away, I was able to stay as one left to tell them the reason why the other two would be late. It took awhile to get our checks then took awhile to get the checks back to sign. Note: please make sure that if you're sharing the special for the day, to indicate whether or not its the lunch special price or regular price. The two who ordered it were under the impression that it was the lunch price and turns out it wasn't. I understand that lunch time is hurried, hence why I arrived early. I understand that it gets more hurried during sporting events but that's not a great excuse on why we got our food as late as we did. We really enjoy the Gianino family restaurants, I hope the above can improve for the next time I visit. read more

Shockingly busy comes to mind - friends and I stopped in for a bite/drink before the movie at Ronnie's across the street, and almost didn't make it, even though we only had appetizers...although I guess we should count ourselves luck that we even got a table. By the time we left there were probably 30 people waiting to be seated - yikes. Appetizers were large portions & tasty and the drink was OK, but nothing super special about either. I definitely prefer the location on the Hill and would recommend that one, if in the neighborhood. read more

Busy. Very busy for lunch. Sat at the bar. Ordered Alfredo meat ball sandwich and roasted red pepper soup...YUM! Bartender busy but friendly. Soup was fresh and flavorful, very good. Was a little worried when I ordered the Alfredo meatball sandwich. But it wasn't too saucy, it had just the right amount of sauce and the meatballs were very good. And the best part is that they make them and partially flatten them so they are easier to eat. Great place for lunch or just to hang out. read more

Trashed wings had feathers fried on to them, I get it happens but that's bad quality control. The wings that didn't have feathers were soggy and pink. Asked for them to be removed from the bill and only took off half because the wings looked picked through like they had been ate when in reality I was hoping some of them would be edible but after the third one was pink I gave up. read more

The Joey B's on Hampton is by far the greatest! But we live in the county and wanted to visit neighboring places. We stopped in at about nine after the dinner rush. We were seated immediately and our waitress came right up for our drinks. They took a little bit, so we searched through the menu. The menu is full of so many choices, that we couldn't even pick when our drinks got there. The waitress was in a hurry and trying to get us to order so we just picked randomly. The food didn't take long and looked and tasted delicious as always. What we were waiting on is our drinks to be refilled throughout our whole meal. Kara, our waitress, was very friendly, but kind of a ditz. She took forever and asked tons of questions about our food. She works here but yes that's what we meant to order. I understand you get stupid people, but we are old enough to know how we want our burger. Anyways, over all the service was a little annoying, but the food was great!!!! :) We will try it again. read more

I've tried to give this place a couple chances because it he foods not bad but the place is always dirty and well the service isn't the best. I went to the bathroom and one was out of order, there was no paper towels, and puddles of water all over the basins. I came out saw my server and asked her for a box and noticed where the drink machine was was falling apart and looked moldy.. if that's what it looks like in the front I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like... I will absolutely never go back and will make sure everyone I knows doesn't go there.. it's not worth the risk.. looks like a disease breeding g ground.
