I hadn't read my license renewal notice so a week before expiration I discovered I needed an emissions test. Most of the state contractors had closed their emissions operations for COVID and I found one that only took appointments-3 wks out! Called John Paul's-receptionist was very friendly and apologetic that they were closing soon and I couldn't get in that day. Simple drive up, tech apologized that I had to wait-of course I had to wait, there were 2 cars ahead of me! I was out in 15 minutes! I would hope they treat paying customers at least as well. STAY AWAY!!! I could go into great detail about many problems at this auto dealership (like the show polish they used to cover up scratches in the paint job), but I am going to stick with only their body shop/collision repair center. ***Stay away from it at all costs*** I bought my vehicle there, so when I was rear-ended I figured if anyone knows about my make and model car it's these guys.. After all they are GM certified... That was my fatal mistake. Seeing my car after they "fixed" it, I almost wanted to break down and cry. Body panels were improperly installed, gaps were large enough that I could place my entire hand inside of them. My car also mysteriously began to die and have electrical failure, mirrors not working, windows not rolling up, etc.. They cut lettering from the old bumper and put that same lettering back on the new bumper (instead of ordering new lettering) with paste that looks like Elmers glue.. How do I know what the adhesive looks like? Well it was smeared all over the back of my bumper.. Yea... Even more frightening was the missing bolts I found when examining the under body of the car... I have yet to get a REAL body shop to do a full examination of my vehicle but I fear that there is more poorly or neglected work underneath the panels that I can't see unless I go digging around in there. For all I know, the frame could have been ignored. Ignoring a busted frame can be a safety issue if you get into another accident, so I could literally be driving a death machine.. I am so furious with the work that was done, they didn't just fail on one thing, they failed properly fixing just about anything they touched. I am being completely sincere when I say that a troop of chimpanzees with MS could have done a far superior job.. read more

I drive all of the way down to John Paul's from my house in Glendale because I do not care for the dealerships closer to my home. For the most part everything was fine with the experience (especially Phil the driver, that guy is outstanding!), it was afterwards where things began to fall apart: After getting home, my car started giving me a warning about the tire pressure monitor system and the back rear tire was not showing anything on the driver display for that tire's PSI. I called John Paul's, and talked to my service adviser, Robert. He apologized and advised that if I came back, they could take care of it right away. I came in later that day and Robert pretended like he didn't know what I was talking about. I think he was trying to be funny, but I was not appreciating his humor given that it's a 25 minute drive for me to get to the dealership for an error that the service staff made. I have been trying to deal on a 1 model year old car with 6000 miles (the add says 2000) on it for a month. They acknowledged that the price I would end up paying after financing it would be more than if I purchased a brand new 2020 with even more options. They seam to be very arrogant that they will find someone willing to come in with cash. The first offer I made them they countered with the window price. 2 weeks later they lowered the price. Another 2 weeks later he tells me they can't keep them in stock at that price. Hmmmm. It's clear that they are waiting for a sucker. My advice, do the math. Don't pay more for a used car than a new one. My example is a 2020 with more options and 0% financing would save me money and obviously have a better resale down the road. Don't be fooled by the purchase price when there are more factors to consider. read more

Went here with a friend looking for a car, being young we couldn't get a glance from the sales people. We walked all the way into the new car area to be told to go to the used car area for a car we saw. Some random guy in a golf cart shows up to try to sell us, doesn't know features, anything about it, basically is reading the sticker and we knew more research wise than he did. Test drive was similar, real awkward silence as we demo'd it. All in all it was a blunder experience, if Im going to pay 20k for a car I want to feel like the person selling it knows more or at least at par with what I do. Especially when the car is a recent GM and its a GM dealership. read more

I received a mailer stating I qualified for some financing and figured I'd check it out. I told them I was interested in what the mailer was talking about. They showed me a car I really liked but I wanted to know the deal with the financing so kinda kept asking about that. The sales people kept pointing out that they were no pressure people and that they were looking out for me which, you know, if you keep saying it it's probably not true. I had a really bad taste in my mouth due to the pushing and the fact that no one was telling me about the financing (seriously like four people were basically talking me into buying this car) so I said I needed to talk this over with my SO (I don't have one but I needed to flee). I then received calls for several months after which I ignored because I was pressured and I never got the 411 on financing. I know they do that to get people in the door but they need to slow their roll a little bit with the pressuring. read more

The procedures are the same as most dealerships but they were so conversational that it became enjoyable. I called John Paul's yesterday to inquire about a problem with my security system on my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. Immediately, the tech who answered seemed annoyed. I tried to explain my issue (problem with Passlock system, car does not start periodically, must wait 10min for car to 'reset' to start)..I got a mumbled 'hskhgihghjfdkd...$500-600 ". I say 'excuse me?'. He repeats something...I say 'ok, thank you', he grunts and hangs up. Since talking to him, I have researched extensively as to the cause of this problem. After hours of researching (I am a researcher by trade), I have found 4 possible solutions to the problem. The solution he gave me was the most expensive hands down..by hundreds of dollars. He never even suggested bringing it into the dealership to look into which of the problems it could be. Quoted the highest fix and that was it. Never going or calling there again..and I am buying a new car in the next 6 months. Quite a shame. read more

Lisa, our salesperson, was a great help. She guided us to a great vehicle choice and we are very happy with our purchase. Financing department was awesome and couldn't have been more helpful. Our only negative feedback is that the car should have been detailed a lot better. It was late on a Friday night and I'm sure everyone wanted to go home, but the following morning, we noticed that the interior was pretty dirty - certainly not as clean as it should have been after a detailing/sale cleaning. read more

Bought a beautiful Ford Escape from them today. It was the best car shopping experience I have ever had. Our salesman, Chuck was wonderful and the manager, Lou was top notch. The showroom, the waiting area and the garage area are so clean the salt water fish tank and parrot and cockatoo in the area are beautiful. Coffee, popcorn, snacks and soda are a very nice touch. Very relaxing. They answered all my questions and felt like I was the most important person in the showroom at the time. The bonus of free car washes and pit stop for the life of the car is really great. All of the staff greeted us and talked to us before we left and we felt like were really appreciated. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used car. read more

I purchased my used 2005 Honda Civic here after finding it online. The staff was adequate. It was pretty much what I expected start to finish. Pretty standard car salesman techniques, not too high pressure but just carefully crafted to put the car in the best possible light. The finance guy was friendly, but did try to sell me several insurance/maintenance type upgrades. My father is a little more experienced at car buying and helped me avoid all that. Overall, I am very happy with the car, and the staff/experience was what you'd expect from a used car salesman. Eager to sell, but not inappropriately aggressive/hard sell. I'd buy another car from these people. read more

I really had a bad experience with the shop. Its 10/02/16 and my vehicle is still there. I took it to have fix my air condition, pick it up the same day, afyer I left the shop I started feeling it weird, the next day had like a burning smell and then suddenly my vehicle stop working by "coincidense." The tow truck have to take it back to the dealership and when I spoke with them they use the work "coinsidence" and they dont wanted to be responsible for that. I have no choice but to pay over $14,000. I really had a bad experience by "coincidense." read more

I purchased my first Buick there a new 2000 Park Ave, My sales person was very informed regarding this and other models. In fact I just purchased a 2011 Buick Enclave there without any high pressure sales. Only when I inquired about the Enclave did we start talking about it. All of my service work both routine and other is done there. The service technicians are very good about informing me of what needs to be done, how long it will take and how much it will cost. For the routine work I wait for it to be done but when it will day a day or longer they will provide me with a vehicle to use. The facilities are warm and inviting. I feel comfortable being known by name by several people and by face by many more, All of the areas are clean and give a feeling of warmth which makes any wait seem short. When my vehicle is ready the service technician comes to get me and walk me over to the cashier. They will ask me if I have any questions and answer them if needed. When I get to my vehicle it is clean and washed. I would highly recommend this dealership for not only purchasing a vehicle but having any service work done. Phil Merlie read more

We had a terrible experience, the first day we got to the dealership no one came to us to help us. The finance man was very rude and belittling. Then the next day we had the check in hand and we waited for 10 minutes before someone interacted with us, which was the lot tenant. Then a week later my steering wheel started to turn so my husband climbed under the van and found the inner tie rod bolt almost off. They replaced the tie rod but didn't tighten it correctly inwhich could have caused a accident. And when management was contacted not one person returned our phone calls. My Significant other purchased a vehicle here a while back and was not blown away with the service and had some issues with the vehicle right away. The real problem came when we went to google to write a short review of the business only to find that someone (who we later found out was the salesperson that sold the car) assumed her identity, wrote a review under my SO's FULL NAME showering praise on the dealer and the salesperson. **When confronted with this evidence, the sales manager accused me of trying to extort him! A while later, when I had a flat, I found that they had sold me a car with a full sized spare with a CRUSHED rim. Totally undriveable on a shattered rim, so I was stuck in the rain with a flat. This place gives slimy used car saepeople a bad name. What a joke. read more

Best service I've received on my GMC Denali so far. John Paul's was the third dealership to look at the issue and the only one to accurately diagnose it. After receiving terrible service from Brookfield GMC and Ernie Von Schledorn (both of which I strongly recommend avoiding), I tried John Paul's on a friends recommendation. I experienced excellent service from the tech, Robert and Ron the service manager. The dealership is not exactly close to my house; however, this level of service is worth the effort to get there. Service center is horrible. I brought my Buick there because the drivers side window stopped working. The service Rep Salomon told me they were going to have the build a wiring harness because Buick doesn't make one so I called Buick directly and Buick said no that's not true. Buick then contacted the service manager and the service manager told Buick the opposite of what they told me and whats funny is I have it in writing of what they were going to do on the invoice when I had to pay $90 for a diagnostic fee. not sure if the whole dealership does this funny business but I wouldn't trust the service dept and for that reason I give them 1 star. read more

A friend from out of town with a warranted GMC Denali dually hauling 10-horses had a failure in the truck braking system. This was an emergency type situation. Called John Paul's in the morning 8-27-18 and they said they could not get him in until the next day....even though the situation was explained to them. Just unacceptable. It was an emergency type situation, the vehicle was a warranted GMC....and they could not even be bothered to at least get the vehicle in the door to look at it. And to think I bought a Buick from these folks last year...won't do that again and will definitely not patronize their service dept. Luckily a Chevy dealer was willing to look at the vehicle immediately as they understood the severity and emergent situation. read more

I have never been more disappointed with a car dealership. Sales promised free tires for life if we maintained our vehicle as the service department recommended. We have religiously done so for three years, and now that it is time for new tires, they deny us the tires. Wish we never would have gone to this dealership. In August of 2016, I bought a fully loaded Buick Lacrosse from this dealership. I had the car back in for service on 2 separate occasions because the hologram on the windshield does not display the allowable speed limit while driving on the interstate system. The car was manufactured in March of 2016. Needless to say when you buy a brand new vehicle, you expect everything to function the way it was explained by the salesman. Nick Harmon does not return telephone messages via voice mail. The secretary contacted him and I was told he was busy with a customer and he would call me right back. Found a rare low mileage truck online so I spoke with the used car manager to inquire about it and he said everything was good but it turns out it was not. I bought a 1-way ticket to make the purchase 1,200 miles away. When I inspected the undercarriage I found oil on the filter and covering half of the front axle from when they changed the oil but didn't clean up. The rear differential had oil residue but they said it was "seepage" and it was nothing to worry about. Also found a line which was leaking but they wiped it off and said that there were no leaks. I took pictures of my findings but they said it was more seepage even though one of their mechanics looked at it and said it was definitely leaking. I mentioned this to the used car manager and he said "leaking, seepage, whatever". Totally unprofessional. He would not fix/replace the leaking line nor would he deduct the repair cost from the sale price to have it fixed/replaced because he had already came down from the asking price. Although I had received very good service at John Paul's Pontiac/GMC in the past, this last service visit was very disappointing. First, the published price for the Pontiac Vibe 30,000 mile maintenance was $299 plus tax. I had a coupon for 10% off. However, my bill was still about $369. The second complaint I had, and expressed, was the dealership's replacing my wiper blades, and charging me about $30 for it, even though I had just had my blades changed by this dealership not long ago. To that complaint, they did refund the roughly $30 in unnecessary blades, but not before I had to wait several weeks; i had to make several phone calls; and i was told several stories. In the end, the dealership's accounting department informed me the refund was an easy fix they could have done the same day. I have been requesting my radio to be replaced, and I expected it to be replaced with the 30,000 mile maintenance. On the day of the maintenance, they informed me the radio was never ordered. Also on they day of the maintenance, I informed them that I was hearing what sounded like an intermittent scraping sound when I would drive forward to leave work. They seemed ambivilent toward this concern, and said they never heard of such a thing. The service representative then said "I guarantee it is probably the break rotors" [wearing unevenly]. This maintenance visit did not address that issue. Later, the service rep said "I have to check with Zurich to see if the radio's covered." After numerous weeks, I still have not heard anything about the radio from the dealership. They do not seem very customer oriented anymore. With regret, I guess I will have to find another dealership. read more

I took my car in for a coolant leak in October 2013. I paid $1200 to replace a cracked radiator. A few weeks ago, I noticed that the radiator was leaking coolant again. When I called to make an appointment, I was told that there was a 12-month warranty on the radiator/work, so that I should bring my car in to have it looked at. Again, the radiator was cracked and needed replacement. I was told that I would be responsible for labor, but that they would replace the radiator at no charge. Nonetheless, for two hours of work, I was charged $850. Within a day, my car was spraying coolant all over - which was compounded by the fact that I was planning to leave on vacation with my family that day...in the car. When I called John Paul, I was sent to voicemail. I called another Buick GMC dealer and was told that I should call John Paul again and ask to speak to the GM (of the store) who could go to the service department and tell them to deal with the call. I called John Paul again, explained the situation, and was told that they would not send me to the GM, but that they could put me through to service voicemail again. So, I left a voicemail explaining the situation and asking for a call back. After an hour with no call, I called the other GMC dealer and asked if I could drive my car in and just have them take a look at it. They agreed, so I drove in. They were able to diagnose the problem - when the new radiator was put in, not all of the connections were made clamped/tightened. They connected everything correctly, refilled my fluid, and ran my car to ensure it was operating as it should...at no charge. They also told me that $850 for a couple of hours of work (bad work, at that) was outrageous. I feel as if John Paul stole my money and I will not return, despite having taken all of my cars there for years. read more

DO NOT go to this dealership. We went to go look at a buick. Salesman was nice and not pushy at first. Gloated about how nice the vehicle was. "The vehicle is in great shape!!!" "This dealership goes over and beyond" "We care about our customers" The used buick was very nice cosmetically with a few minor flaws as a scratch here and there. The salesman told us they ALWAYS put new brake pads on each car unless they look new for safety reasons. He stated a new belt, diagnostic, and all fluids were checked. He assured us that buick mechanics do a very thorough job at making sure the cars are safe to take off the lot. We took it for a test drive and it drove nice. We decided to take it to a different mechanic just to be on the safe side. SOOOOOOOOOO glad we did. After a total of 6 hours of researching, test driving, time at the mechanic's shop, and $65 dollars later for a safety inspection/diagnostic/suspension check...we discovered the vehicle would need at least $3,000 and upwards worth of repairs. Things that needed to be fixed...... a new belt, new trans fluid and a flush because it was dark red which means it wasn't and probably hasn't been changed, the engine was leaking in a few different spots, gas lines were near rotted, brakes needed to be changed, the rear suspension was starting to give, 2 hoses would have to be replaced, power steering was leaking, and the diagnostic test came back with 3 codes, ect. How is it that a buick mechanic can let ALL of these things slide??? Not even change the transmission fluid, really??? From my one and only experience here at this dealership, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

Dropped off my car for a simple check engine light. After they read the code and readied my vehicle (code was for evap nothing detrimental to the car just for emissions). I got in my car to leave only to discover a used thumbnail size bag of weed with small remnants of said bag in the bottom of the cup holder in the center console. After I brought this to the service managers attention in shock as I was he said I must have did it because they drug test all of their employees and there was no way anyone there had done it all while some other service guy was hurriedly vacuuming out all the evidence. After I had left in a very angry fashion and supposedly chirped my tires on their lot I got a call from the Greenfield police when I pulled in my driveway. The dealership had called the cops on me for causing a disturbance!!!! I can't even believe this happened and I was there and the actual victim of this. DO not set foot on this lot if you value anything in life property or otherwise. read more
