I ordered from here a few weeks ago and got two chicken parm dishes and a slice of chocolate cake…read more I had been craving chicken parm for months and was really looking forward to it, which made the experience even more disappointing. When we got home, the food was very underwhelming. The chicken was clearly overcooked and tough. I had to cut through it several times just to get a bite sized piece. Even if I had dined in, I think it still would have been overcooked. The sauce also tasted overdone, like it had been sitting on the stove too long or kept under heat past its prime. The garlic knots were also lackluster and barely had any flavor. I could hardly taste any garlic, butter, or parmesan. Overall, both dishes tasted overcooked and not very well prepared. The sauce in particular did not taste homemade and seemed more like it came from a jar. The chocolate cake was the only part that was somewhat enjoyable. It was not bad, but it was nothing memorable either. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience and we will not be ordering again. I am giving two stars since I cannot speak to the service, as this was a pickup order.

The shop is a small, casual place located in a plaza. They had a good special on slices; two slices and a drink for $8. The person who took our order was friendly. I chose a cheese slice and a mushroom slice. My bf chose a cheese slice and a sausage slice. The food was ready after a short wait. Personally, I found the pizza to be pretty lackluster. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either. It was kind of floppy and soggy from the grease, the crust had a decent enough flavor, but just didn't have a great texture. The cheese was okay, and the sauce was lacking. Just not enough pop in any flavor or component. My bf had a similar opinion. Portion size was good though for the cost. Pizza is soooo subjective, so this is just my personal opinion. It was okay, the value was fine, but I don't think I'll go back.

I think that it bears mentioning that these people had never lived in New York or New Jersey and after trying this pizza, I woukd have to wonder if those who recommend Italian Village Pizza to me had ever even visited New York or New Jersey. As someone who was born and raised in New Jersey, I can tell you that the pizza that I had tonight is nothing even remotely close to the wonderful pizza that comes from either New York or New Jersey. No, this pizza was a complete letdown and left me regretting that I did not go to the shopping plaza next to this one on Chickasaw Trail and getting the wonderful Napoli's Pizza. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant enough and since this pizzeria is in a shopping plaza on the corner of Lake Underhill Road and Chickasaw Trail, there was adequate parking, though if you need to go east on Lake Underhill when leaving, it is a bit of a pain. I had asked for the pizza to be well done, but they overcooked it. The sauce wasn't bad, but the pizza also needed more cheese. I cannot recommend Italian Village Pizza and I can only give it two stars.
