A few weeks ago, my lawn service shredded the housing for an external electric cord that powers my irrigation system. I called Johnathan Brown Electric and they came within 24 hours to do the repair. Had an issue with outlets in our kitchen. A technician came out and explained cost for diagnostic and repair. Checked everything thoroughly and replaced GFI. A couple days later had a similar issue. The same technician came right and found another issue, fixed it and there was no additional charge. We will definitely call again if we experience another electrical issue. First introduction really does make a difference; meaning the first person that picks up that phone can make or break your business! Jonathon did several items for me with amazing and timely results. He replaced all the outlets in my home from almond to white, replaced two ceiling fans and installed a new ceiling fan in a room that had no wiring or attic. It's hard to find a good electrician, but Johnathon Brown Electric is so great, I'm already trying to find more lighting projects. After 12 years of tolerating the fluorescent light in the kitchen, the fella and I finally decided it was time to enter the 21st century. I emailed Johnathon Brown Electric to get a quote on putting in recessed lights along with pendants over the kitchen counter. They emailed me back within an hour and had an electrician out later that same day - a Friday, no less - for a quote. Ryan was really great at walking us through everything we wanted, what it would take to do it, how long it would take, and how much it would all cost. I asked a million questions, and he had to answer me like I know nothing about lights and wiring... because I don't. But he was so patient! He was able to give us a quote when he came out, and we got on the schedule within a couple of weeks. Each time he came out, we got an emailed schedule reminder along with a call when he was on his way. The job itself couldn't have gone better. I had Johnathon Brown do a repair job at my previous property in Pineville, NC. The electrician was courteous, professional, & explained everything well. Being impressed with that experience, I asked them to quote a much more extensive job at my new property in Charlotte. They came out two weeks ago & said they'd have a quote for me at the beginning of the following week. After not hearing from them, I called the following Friday for a status, and they said they'd get it out to me. Never heard back, so I called them again the following Wednesday - again no response. I am quite disappointed in the lack of communication. Update - The company apologized for the lack of communication. Johnathon Brown himself came out to gather more information; apparently the original electrician did not get everything needed. He was thorough in explaining all the known & potential challenges for the work that I desire. Hopefully I will get the actual estimate soon, but a decent service recovery effort so far. read more

Jonathan Brown installed a whole house surge protector and two wired, light timers. IMHO, Mr. Brown did an outstanding job. He was on time, explained everything he was about to do, gave me options as to what I wanted, gave me his professional opinion about the best choice but left the decision up to me and gave me an estimate before doing the work. The person on the phone and the tech were nice enough, however, I feel like they didn't do a good job the first time. The tech didn't have the right materials and then I got charged again when they came back the second time and I had to supply some of what they needed to do the job. We have an electrical issue (no outlets working on one side of our home) and called another electrician who promised to come within 24 hours but cancelled and would not reschedule. Looking on Yelp, we found Johnathan Electric and gave them a call at 4:30PM. The woman who answered the phone, Michele was very friendly and professional and told us she would call the owner to see if they could fit us in. 2 hours later Johnathan called us and came by at 7PM that same evening! He was efficient, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He diagnosed our problem in short order, fixed our problem and gave us good advice going forward in our home (which was built in the early 80's and not up to code in some areas). A few days later, they were able to work me in since I was without a stove. He is very reasonably priced. He was friendly and respectful of me and my home. On his second visit he recommended I install a surge protector. There was no pressure from him to do this, just a suggestion due to all the storms we'd been having. I agreed and had it installed because the first time I hired him was to fix outlets that had blown during a storm. I lost a TV in that storm as well.
