Had a very tasty lunch at Carino's. The salad was the star of my lunch. Carino's does an excellent house salad loaded with veggies and a cheesy, creamy tangy Italian dressing. I had a beef sandwich that came with a side of broth. The sandwich was average. Small but well cooked beef. Service was good, we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was fast and very well timed, our server was friendly, but I did notice that a young man which struck me as possibly being a manager or supervisor was helping our server quite a bit. It might of been a day of staff being short. The blackberry tea I ordered was really nice, the appetizer was $20+ and we got 3 very toasted mozzarella sticks, that I didn't eat unfortunately so I can't tell you about them. We also had some very delicious white cheese nachos and "some" calamari, and I say "some" in quotes because we literally got like 5-6 circles of calamari but the rest was MOSTLY deep fried breaded yellow peppers, the salad however was so fresh, perfect amount of dressing already mixed in, I didn't even need a drink while I ate it. My husband ordered a spicy chicken and "shrimp" dish, and unfortunately like the calamari the shrimp were few and far between, but my husband said the chicken dish was really delicious and flavorful, I ordered the Mama Mia Spaghetti, and oh my goodness,, it's a LOT of spaghetti, 3 very flavorful meatballs, and a sausage that I didn't get to taste because it was so much, the spaghetti was delicious, we ate spaghetti again that night and my husband had enough spaghetti left for his lunch. The restaurant was very quiet, everything seemed very clean and the atmosphere was really pleasant, so I guess the $100 check, including tip of course, was worth it read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food tastes like it was prepared from frozen packages. The service is poor, with one waiter assigned to about 10 tables. They never brought bricks or olive oil when asked. I am very disappointed, especially after traveling all the way to Waxahachie just for Johnny Carino's. I will never return. read more

I received a bag in the mail for free meal with minimum $5 purchase. The waitress was very professional and attentive. I ordered a beer which took forever to get. Even my bread and salad arrived before it did. I get that the bag is used to get more customers and they need all the help they can get. Only two other tables were occupied. The lasagna was delicious and the pasta was also. The five slivers of steak, two were inedible since I couldn't chew them, were not bad. I had three pieces of bread left which the waitress took away without even asking if I was done with it. The second beer was delivered in half the time as the first thank goodness. Today I went in for lunch. It was not busy at all. Got sat immediately. The server was super kind. The bread was amazing, I got salad with ranch and the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. It was pretty good. She gave me bread to go. Cost about 35 with tip. Kind of high but it was good. read more

I ordered it through Uber Eats and yes, I took into account time for delivery and all that but regardless of the fact that it was delivery I ordered the lasagna because Uber eats had to buy one get one free thing going on and now I completely understand why. I don't know what happened it's been Just about 20 years since I've been to Johnny Carino's and I remember the food being fantastic but this was easily the worst lasagna I've ever been served in a restaurant and it had nothing to do with delivery. It's the flavors. It's just so bland and disappointing. The bread was good. The dipping sauce was good we got Caesar salad salads that were decent but the dressing really wasn't all that great. We also got the calamari which was good, but sort of unremarkable, but yeah, based on that lasagna, I will never go back. read more

Bad service. Not enough wait staff. Good food, only IF you get seated and then have the patience to wait for it. The place was maybe 1/3rd full last night and they told us we would have to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. We passed! Stay away!!!! read more

I've always loved Carino's menu, but this location has the best service. The Happy Hour is fantastic and Bre provides the best drinks and hospitality. I wish this business was as good at its marketing as it is with everything else. We drove 77 miles to dine here, and we'll do it again soon. read more

We came at the right time only about six other people in the restaurant. That was a red flag that something might be off since we passed the Olive Garden that was packed. As for the food and prices not that great. The food is over priced compared to an Olive Garden. The salsa were good, definitely could have added more croutons. Lasagna was great Ordered chicken fettuccine, shrimp fettuccine, and the lasagna. The pasta was slightly undercooked. There wasn't enough shrimp in the pasta, nor Alfredo sauce. Very disappointing. Johnny Carino's has an amazing menu that is well executed by the chef. The Salmon was cooked to perfection , if it's not, you can count on the manager being somewhere near your table making sure you and others are being cared for. They are in need of staff, but managers helped out when needed. The team work definitely was my reason for giving them a 5 star rating. It made the experience one I would do again. We've missed this place!!! Loved it back in Rockwall TX. So happy to see it here right around the corner from where our daughter will be living. The best fresh bread around, with Roasted Garlic Oli for dipping. Excellent pastas, incredible Italian Nachos. The only negative thing is my wife's salad had some tuff chicken and the table was a little tacky/sticky but we were so happy to see this place we overlooked the little things. DO NOT come here!! The service is good, but that's about it. The restaurant smells a little bad, the floors are sticky, and the bathrooms smell terrible. The food is overpriced, yet bland! You're basically paying for a more expensive Olive Garden but it tastes worse. I got the fettucine alfredo with chicken, and I had to add so much salt and pepper just to get it to taste like something. And the strawberry cheesecake was just average cheesecake with strawberry syrup. But that's just the start of your problems. The next day, 90% of our party (of ~24) was afflicted with horrible stomach pains and uncontrollable diarrhea. I personally pooped five times that day. And none of them were enjoyable . In conclusion, we basically paid for overpriced, bland laxatives. I'm never coming back here and I don't recommend that anyone else does either read more

We haven't dined out a lot since the pandemic but we wanted to try this place out. I visited the location in Grand Prairie often before they closed down. This dish was "meh" it was cold and almost tasted like it had been cooked and sat out. The Caesar salad and bread (with the olive oil/toasted garlic dipping sauce) sooo good! Service was very poor. Waitress spent more time socializing with others and walking past our table. After receiving our waters, we never saw our waitress but once when she did come top my water off. Otherwise, others brought food and she repeatedly walk by. If she had stopped, we would have told her the Ceaser salad was the best part of our meals. Of which was by no means endless as I would have ordered a second, just for the lack of flavor in the entree. Between the lack of flavor and things being over cooked, the food was not satisfactory. The waitress finally came back only to give us a bill. Not once we're we asked about our 95% + un eaten entrees. I do not give reviews unless it is really awesome or really poor. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. The music was at a good volume. We were seated promptly and Jenny was our server. She was very friendly and pleasant. She answered our questions without hesitation and checked on our table regularly. The starter bread was delicious! Served warm and soft. We ordered the Dinner for Two - Calamari, Caesar Salads, Chicken Bowtie Pasta, Turtle Cheesecake. Each item was delivered at a great temperature and was visually appetizing. OK I have been coming to this place for a long time usually 3 times a year because I don't live as close as I wish I did each time. Though it seems like the quality of food is getting worse and worse today was another an experience that I would say was on the worst side the Italian nachos. Used to be my absolute favorite they were tasty always good full of flavor today. The chips were stale. The cheese was cold and it had maybe 3 pieces of Italian meat on them. It was not what I would recommend to have today not saying that they had a bad day or a good day but today was not a good day for Italian. Nachos so let's move on to the mozzarella sticks 10 out of 10 the best thing on my plate. Then we will move on to the calamari it was good. I'm. Not a? Big. Fan of it so I can't really be a great judge of it. But from what I tasted it tasted pretty good. The best thing they had and they always will have. Is the wedge salad? That was 10 out of 10 will always get last when at least the steak it was OK. It wasn't full of flavor but it was full of fat so not happy about that customer service. Absolutely not I have had some of the best customer service in the past couple of days and today was the exception to the rule. We didn't get seated for almost 15 minutes when there was absolutely only 10 customers in the whole restaurant once we got seated we didn't get any. Napkins we didn't get a very good greeting and once she satisfied. It took her forever to even take our order then she brought us cold bread to dip in the seasoning. I'm not sure if she wasn't in a good mood but today. Her customer service was definitely a 3 out of 10. So I'm not saying don't try it because the cost is definitely economical and in the wait time once you get seated was not long at all. So if you're OK with subpar customer service and mediocre food today would have been your day to eat here but again everybody has a bad day maybe. Haven't been to one of these places in years. Now I remember why. Ordered spinach and artichoke dip for an app. It was runny like milk, tasted 100% like greens (no cheese flavor) and the chips were wrought with a film of oil. So Nasty. Main dish was the Shrimp Scampi. Shrimp cooked perfectly in terms of texture, but the dish had approximately 50 mushrooms and the sauce was basically wine they didn't burn the alcohol out of but still added garlic to it. I mean, who doesn't like garlic flavored wine? Their bread didn't come out till I was basically done with my meal. Now before one might assume that they were behind because they were busy, there was one other table with customers in the entire joint. And the cap, the manager NEVER came and spoke to me. Shame... Save your money, go home and have pop tarts for dinner, you'll be happier read more
