Craving pizza for a Friday snack, we searched for options nearby and came across Jonny C's Italian Eatery. Based on the menu and reviews, we decided to order a Large Pizza--half Brooklyn style and half Queens style--along with a Caesar Salad. I picked up the order in 20 minutes and headed home. The pizza was good but not great, as it was a bit on the salty side. We've definitely had better pizzas elsewhere. That said, we will be back to try other menu options! read more

This is a hidden gem if you want some good Italian and a peaceful environment. It's off the main road of restaurants Bruce b downs so smaller crowd and definitely a family feel. I loved the chicken lemon piccata! This was a refreshing pasta with a strong lemon flavor which sweetened the dish perfectly. For any one with a gluten allergy, this is the place to try ! We have lived in Florida for 23 years. One thing I know for certain, Tampa does not do food! I can count on one hand the number of times I have taken my family out and spent over $100.00 on a meal and felt like the experience and quality of the food was worth it. Last night, at Johnny C's, our bill came out to about $130.00 - 2 adults and 2 kids, 9 and 12. Fried Mozzarella and Garlic knots, House salad and Caesar salad. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken X 2, Lasagna. Everything was beyond amazing! Very clean, great atmosphere, great service, great food. One thing though....We got there around 5:45pm on a Friday. One other group was there. One other group showed up when we were leaving around 6:30. That is crazy! Home-made food! Locally owned! Where were my fellow North Tampa residents? I ordered take out this time, but my review will be based on my 2 visits, the other one was dine-in. I ordered Linguine and Clams and it was some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. This is what I eat the night before a Half or Full Marathon, and I just ran my 188th Half Marathon, so I've eaten a LOT of Linguine and Clams, both locally and all over the country. I usually make it myself when I run a local race but ordered take out. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and I love the outdoor seating. My husband enjoyed his food as well. The service was quick and the food came out at a great temperature. Flavor profile was amazing. Only flaws were the garlic knots tasted microwaved but still very flavorful. Such a great first time experience! I worked with Howie to place a pick up catering order for my husband's birthday. Howie suggested some options and sizes, based on our party. We did have to change a part of our order however, Howie was accommodating and super helpful. The food was awesome! The sauce for the meatballs and sausage was great! Such good flavor! While hearing such great reviews about this place, my family and I decided to check it out. Being born, raised and lived in NY my whole life, anytime we hear a new establishment opening from NYC, we crave the taste of home and want to explore. Johnny C's is a cute small restaurant in the Publix parking lot on Morris bridge. They do have outdoor seating which is great to add to the 10 or so tables inside. Our waitress was attentive considering she was practically serving the whole place. Kudos to her. I'll start off by saying the Brooklyn pizza was tasty. The cheese pizza was ok but the crust on both was really good. Now for the entrees... disappointed. Unfortunately, this place did not hit the mark for my family. Everyone was underwhelmed with the food and some comments were the pasta wasn't drained enough (a bit watery), meatballs was dry and the sauce wasn't as good as we'd hoped. . As for me, my penne vodka was just ok. Have I had better, absolutely. Would I go back, prob not. read more

I'm always on the hunt for a great chicken parmigiana and this was a great find. Saw the great reviews and said I had to try. The location is kind of hidden in a small shopping center adjacent to a big one next to gas station. The staff was all smiles and couldn't be any nicer. Our server, Sydney, was amazing. From her smile to her menu knowledge and suggestions. We even met the two owners who couldn't be nicer or more welcoming. Now let's get to the important stuff: my Chicken Parm was Excellent! The flavor of the chicken, the ratio to the sauce and cheese, the quality of the ingredients, the way prepared: all perfect. My son had a calzone that was huge and he couldn't stop raving about it. When you enter an Italian Hole in the wall it should not smell overpowering of rotting FISH. My husband took me here , red flag we were only customers sitting to eat. I told him it's the smell, food can't be fresh. We ordered to keep hubby happy, food is heavily beaded, frozen is my guess. So we came in for lunch it was pretty quiet but it was early . We had a great waitress and very sweet . We ordered the fried mozzarella the buffalo garlic knots and the meat lovers pie or aka the Bronx I believe. Sadly the garlic knots were cold the fried mozzarella was hot and good . Now growing up in Brooklyn I love me some good pizza. The pizza just wasn't cooked Long enough to us and it just didn't have a lot of flavor . We really wanted to love it maybe we gotta come back when it's little busier or maybe it was just an off day . I'm not one to complain and send things back . Fantastic meal and great service! We had not been here before but we have found a hidden gem! We had a party of 8 and every one of raved about the food. Chef and owner Erik personally came to the table to welcome us! My hubs who insists on only homemade meatballs loved these homemade ones which Erik says is his grandmothers recipe! I really wanted to like this place. After all, its Italian food - my favorite. After a rough first time, I came back a second time later in the week to give it another shot, but it just wasn't meant to be. We went the first time because they had Frutti Di Mare on the menu. I've had it in Italy and have rarely seen it on a menu here in the states. Before you hating on me, I'm not trying to compare Italian food in ITALY to what we call Italian food in the United States. Back to my review - I was excited to see it on the menu where it stated that it was made with a piccanti (Italian for spicy) sauce. I don't mind hot, but this was overwhelmingly spicy. When you can't taste the seafood, that's too much in my book. It literally had my nose running like I had just ate blazing hot wings. My wife had the chicken piccata, apparently their best seller, but she found it to be over-seasoned with pepper. As we are walking out we see a table that's having a calzone. It looked amazing! That's why we came back just a few days later. When it arrived at our table, it was looking just as "de-lish" as what we had seen earlier. Cut a couple of slices - they were thick with cheese. Only problem, half of that was ricotta cheese. And that was cold. Almost refrigerated cold. Staff was very apologetic and they warmed it up, but by then, my desire for it had faded. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, but a complete strikeout on the food. Your taste might be different or other dishes might be fine, but I won't be back to find out. read more

We heard about the opening of this new Italian restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by how great the food was. When I moved here from NJ I knew that good pizza and Italian food would be something I would have to leave behind. About 6 months after moving here I found Pizza Mania which clearly was the best pizza in the area. But I had to drive all the way to Westly Chapel and all the way back, passing 1/2 a dozen pizzerias along the way. Imagine if Pizza Mania improved thier Pizza and opened a location at CrossCreek center about 1 1/2 miles from home. Well that is basically what happened except it's called Johnny C's. Apparently people are raving about thier entrées as much as I do about thier Pizza! If you decide to stay and eat-in you will find the service to be timely and pleasant. The servers seem genuinely happy to be there and enjoy thier job. Do yourself a favor, go try Johnny C's! read more

Your Eatery is very welcoming., we were looking for a true neighborhood Italian restaurant and from the minute we walked in door we found it. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and worked as a team. I didn't order garlic knots with our server, I asked a team member if he could tell our sever., He then went to kitchen and got the knots.. our dinner was phenomenal, true Italian cuisine. Our waitress, Sydney B, was excellent. She had great recommendations and such a nice presence. Also, the patio had such a positive feel. The patio also was so pretty; it had Edison lights and beautiful plants. The food was delicious-we had eggplant parm and Spaghetti and meatballs. I would definitely recommend the buffalo knots or any kind of garlic knots.
