Can't begin to say enough good things about Johnny Macaroni's! The menu is filled with dishes like your Italian mom or Noni would make. This isn't a gastro pub attempt at Italian food this is a family restaurant that makes dishes that make you think of Sunday dinner! The portions are large and the taste is even larger! The "gravy" or marinara sauce is fresh and delicious. The chicken parm dinner with pasta is like 2 meals I can't remember the last time I didn't take 1/2 my meal home. As locals, my new fiancé and i were soooo excited to try this restaurant that we have been driving by for years (and especially because this was to be the first time our parents/families would be meeting!) Unfortunately, that excitement only led to having 5 out of the 8 in my dining party wind up with violent food poisoning and one of our guests was a TODDLER who ate off of the kids menu!!! All but 2 of us that would up getting sick had different meals so it leads me to believe the problem was possibly in the kitchen not with certain food... Each of us were all sick for at least 2 days after our visit! To be honest, I wish I could give a higher rating because when we were eating, let me tell you! WE LOVED IT! it makes me so sad that after our experience we will never be able to return! Well we had reservations for 7:15 and didn't get seated or communicated to till I went over at 8 and said "We have been here for 45 min and no one has said a word to us"and this was to the manager he was very apologetic, I told him have the hostess communicate with the parties so they know how long it's gonna take, why have a reservation. We had the best waitress her name is Tenley she was right on top of things she was fabulous she turned our night around!!! The food is always worth the wait it's very good I always have leftovers you just can't go wrong they just were extremely busy! But if you can't accommodate don't take the reservation!!! read more

Quantity is not quality. There is so much food on each entree that you'll need to bring home some of it. Unfortunately, the food isn't worth eating twice. Marinara sauce tastes like pizza sauce. Baked ziti should not have said sauce poured all over it. It was like ziti in really thick cheese sauce. My wife's lasagna was okay but too much and too much dry ricotta with, no surprise, a sea of sauce. Everything was piping hot which always makes me fear a microwave oven. Might be good for kids or couples who want to share an entree but, despite this being 10 min from home, we won't be back. read more

If you are looking for very traditional Italian food, as I was, this is the restaurant for you. I got carry out and it was ready as promised, packed nicely, exactly as ordered and the person on the phone taking my order and getting my food when I arrived for pickup was very friendly and efficient. The chicken florentine was delicious with just the right amount of sauce, the baked ziti was also delicious. The garden salad was typical; lettuce, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, bread cubes and pepperoncini. After seeing this place on yelp for months, we decided to make a date night and drive 45 minutes to give it a try. We were not disappointed!! They were busy as it was a Friday night but we had a reservation and were seated at our time. We had the arancini appetizer which came with a huge cup of vodka sauce for dipping! My fiancé had the chicken combinazione that came with chicken Parm, fried ravioli and a meatball- huge portion but he cleaned his plate! I had a full pound of fettuccine with vodka sauce which was outstanding and the meatballs were wonderful! Service was great, the environment was very welcoming, the price was more than reasonable given the quality and portion size. The only negative remarks i have is that the load of bread they brought was cold- like just out of the refrigerator cold, not even room temp. The food is good and the service is good but trying to get a seat is nuts. I counted 15 empty tables and they have a ton of people waiting to be seated. They are telling everyone it's a 45 min to 1 hr wait. People are leaving because of this. How can someone allow $ to fly out the door like this bewilders me. Stopped in there for a takeout menu a couple weeks ago and was told "no take out by the hostess, only to have someone else come over and point to the take out menus a foot from the hostess. Had dinner the week after the grand openning at this location. They did a fantastic job of renovating their new location. The food was excellent, portions were large and the server was great. The wait was a bit long especially when there were lots of empty seats. We were seated before the wait time indicated. I chalk this up to being a new location. I will definitely be back. Overall we were satisfied, but not blown away. We had a reservation and a table was waiting for us on arrival - nice for a busy Saturday. We were seated in the front room. It was so loud we couldn't even converse with one another. We asked to be moved to take back room - no better back there. Service was fine and food was slightly better than average. I know it's not meant to be an upscale restaurant but I wish it was a little quieter. Too noisy to enjoy a nice night out. Next time I'll go to Carmella's. Big fan of JM's for years, but the experience at this location Sat was anything but a relaxing dinner. Extremely loud. Waitress rushing, bus boy running around so crazed that it was distracting. Trying to move move move, he stacked a large amount of dishes and they crashed on the floor. Got the lighter fair chicken parm. Expected same as regular entree just a smaller portion (say 1 pc of chicken instead of 2.) The chicken was very different, thin piece, which was burned on bottom and hard to cut as it was over cooked. This was 5 pm, I can't imagine how chaotic it must have been later in prime time. Give people a relaxing atmosphere so they are able to enjoy their evening and your yummy food. read more

So delicious. Ordered takeout as we live less than a mile away. Still piping hot when I got home. Chicken broccoli and ziti was so good, not too creamy but still hearty. Im not sure if the pasta is homemade but it tasted very fresh and al dente like it should be. Cacciatore was flavorful and full of chunks of white meat chicken with green and red peppers. Our first experience at the new Johnny Macaroni's was with a group of 10 adults, plus 3 kids. We had a reservation and were seated earlier than planned. A few family members were late but the hostess allowed us to sit and order appetizers. (A local Italian restaurant chain will not allow you to sit until your whole party is present.)Service was very good,but one meal came out late. They went over and above the call of duty. Since they were short a high chair, they got one from their original location. The bread and olive oil was delicious! Antipasto was average, the large was a good sized portion. Eggplant was very good with just the right amount of melted mozzarella, but the marinara sauce was only okay. I tasted the fish which was excellent. The chicken with ravioli,fresh tomato and white sauce looked amazing; chicken,broccoli, ziti wasn't anything special. Portions are so large most of us brought leftovers home. Prices are reasonable, which would have been even better if the Restaurant.com was still available. The back room is a bit noisy, since the ceiling is so high. My husband and I dined here recently-I must say the atmosphere at this location is far nicer than the 106 location. It was very busy the night we ate here and our waitress Julie was awesome!!! I had baked ziti which was decent. My husband ordered penne with meat sauce; I think our idea of meat sauce and Johnny Macaroni's idea of meat sauce are very different-the meat sauce was tomato sauce with what seemed to be pieces of a hamburger sprinkled on top. The salads were very fresh and the bread is delicious, so all in all it wasn't bad for local Italian. read more
