Having gotten Johnny macs for years I have to say everything is insanely good. The chicken broccoli Alfredo is by far the best and most consistent dish they offer. The takeout game is lacking, now I know take out is takeout. But Johnny macs charges a lot extra for lot less portion size. Terrible service! We waited over an hour for our pasta entree and when I complained the manager explained "they were busy" Rather than discounting the bill, as I had asked, she explained they were unusually busy for a Friday. There's no excuse waiting an hour for a pasta dish, and 30 minutes for a cocktail refill. The worst service ever. And the manager was very condescending. read more

Had dinner here for the first time last night. It will also be the last time. The meats were dry and the pasta flavorless. We were pestered by flies the whole time we were eating. Was there yesterday bar service was great! Had the Jmac appetizer which was good we ordered the two specials on the menu the one I ordered was a lobster tail and shrimp scampi. The lobster tail had little to no meat in it and was cooked to death and the shrimp was good but you only got two of them. Usually great food but get rid of this special. read more

I eat here from time to time and usually call it in. This time I decided to use the app which was a huge mistake. The manager convinced me it was a Grubhub problem and they just got the order after an hour after I put it in. The poor girl doing the takeout orders had no idea to respond when she told me it would be another 40 minutes and I wasn't having it. Work out the online order kinks and this will go to 4 stars. Food was hot!!!! And delicious! Got the bruschetta, chicken carbonara, and chicken Viva Marco - and they were all outstanding. Not sure why there is an up charge for balsamic glaze on the bruschetta. Service was friendly and helpful. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was classic small italian food spot. read more

That was terrible. Shrimp fettuccini Alfredo. Someone tipped the Parmesan bucket into my 4oz sauce. Never thought I'd say that about this place that has given me excellent dinners. Next time I'll say light Parmesan cheese. The shrimp are huge and cooked perfectly but the extra cheese sauce ruined it for me. The chicken parm was top notch and deserves an A. Plates are huge and more than sufficient for 2 meals. I'll have take the L on my meal. This place usually puts out some of the best Italian food this side of Massachusetts. No fooling. read more

They were pretty packed tonight. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in. We ordered the same things: Bruschetta, lasagna, and lobster ravioli... extra bread. Still amazing nothing has changed. Super happy they were able to accommodate us because honestly we're leaving with happy full bellies. read more

Fettuccine dish had so much Parmesan cheese it in that's all we tasted. It seemed like someone just dumped a whole jar of Parmesan cheese in the sauce. So salty. Ate a few bites. Threw it right in the garbage and was sick after. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for years. Never had it delivered. $19 for meal, $3.00 service fee and $4.00 tip. Meal arrived piping hot. The only disappointment, and if you have had the bread you will know why, only one piece of bread and no butter. Meal does look great though. read more

My wife and I Came here for dinner, and service was extremely slow and server hardly came to our table! We had to request service and waited for our food longer then any place we've been...And it was a very slow night!! There was a total of 4 couples in the entire dining room. Finally found the time to try Johnny's out based on other reviews. Dined out here on a Saturday night and I honestly would've missed the place as it's this little cozy spot on a dimly lit street at the time. The parking wasn't really paved, but whatever, that's besides the point lol Walk in , in this place feels like an Italian grandmother's home. It's real cozy and comforting. We grabbed a seat by the bar, not at the bar, but there's a few 2-seater tall tables right next to it. Our waitress was friendly. Tip 1: The only thing I would really suggest is if you plan on ordering an actual entree, you might be better off in the actual dining area: the tables we had were a bit small to handle 2 large orders. The portions here are huge! Tip 2: add pepper flakes to your olive oil to add a kick when you dip your bread. Tip 3: lose the belt. The cooks at Johnny's are cooking up good and hearty portions back there, show some respect and let that tummy hang haha. read more

Visited about two other times. Pasta is still consistently great. Service is always good. Beware of the desserts. We had ordered a cheesecake for a birthday celebration and left with upset stomachs and a very sad night on the toilet. Called to let them know they might have served spoiled cheesecake so they wouldn't serve it to anyone else and they person on the phone kind of just brushed it off with an "ok thanks". Don't think we'll be going there for dessert ever again. Other than that, good place when you need Italian food! read more

Went to an 80th bday yesterday. Food was catered. I said oh good no chicken parm (I'm ordering it for dinner tomorrow.) the nice man doing the catering was so personable. He called and checked to make sure it wasn't too late to call and order for the next day being a holiday. After going home I called and placed my order. Such great customer service. Well we have been a loyal customer since you opened. Always excellent food, service, amazing amount of food for the money. Waitress's work hard and always ready to make things right. Tonight ruined all of that. We ordered an entree to go. We ordered the small portion of an entree to go. Well, big mistake. Chicken cacciatore was always larger than life and enough for four meals as we are older hence the small. My husband picks up the entree and they are NO it is a large!! Well we ordered small,place was busy, someone else waiting for their order... Girl was you want me to take it back? Ah no we will take it because no big deal. Is there bread in the bag? Yes...she said. Well he gets home literally 1 slice of bread no more no less. Couldn't make even a half sandwich with it if I wanted to. The meal very chewy al dente pasta and tough chicken pieces. Barely any sauce, peppers, onions or mushrooms. I shouldn't have worried about mopping up sauce with my half of piece of bread. I know this is not their signature cacciatore. Off night, maybe late 8:30 Saturday night take out, who cares. I called and and he was polite with attitude. "Wanna" speak to the manager? Was it one entree? Well, yes it was but your kitchen took the order wrong and we were civil enough to "SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP" because not a big deal for the upcharge because we are loyal customers. He then explained you only get your one piece of bread small or large entree. It seems petty on both sides. I know the pandemic and costs have risen and the almighty dollar is supreme but an apology for the mix up or even a 2nd slice of bread would have gone a long way for your loyal customer. The food dissapointed, the attitude by your staff has dissapoInted, and my lot of gift cards still to spend have made us seriously dissapointed. The whole situation could have been avoided with a better response as I wasn't driving back for a piece of bread. A friend had recommended this place to me and I finally made it here tonight to try it out for the first time. The restaurant is bigger inside than it looks from the outside with a large dining area and a few smaller dining areas that are running off from the main dining are in little alcove type spaces. You enter the restaurant through the back door and the front door is for takeout customers. There is a small bar to the left of the hostess stand where you can have a drink and wait for a table on a busy night. We got there pretty early in the evening so we were seated immediately and our server arrived to our table very shortly to take our drink order while we looked over the menus. I expected to see mostly Italian food here but was very surprised to see that they also have a good amount of other choices such as steak, seafood and chicken entrees as well. I was in the mood for Italian so I decided to go with the Veal Parmesan. It comes in your choice of a small portion or a larger portion so I picked the small one but it was still enough food to take home some leftovers. So they do give you a good amount of food here. My dinner was served with a choice of pasta on the side plus I ordered a garden salad to munch on as I waited for my meal to arrive. The complimentary Italian bread that they serve was very fresh tasting and comes with both an oil dipping sauce and regular butter as well. They have a very good dessert menu with some nice treats on it such as Chocolate Lava Cake, Ice Cream Sundaes, Cheesecake, Tiramisu and Bread Pudding. I opted for the Tiramisu and it was about the best I've ever had. Very glad I finally got to try this place and everyone else in my party also enjoyed it and said they would definitely go back. read more
