The food is great, the prices are good, the waitress we had was good, and the atmosphere is nice. We will definitely be coming back again.

I don't even have words for how busy this place is ALL. THE. TIME. Even the new 2nd location is always packed. People around here love their Johnny Macaroni's. It's good--your typical Italian American carb-loading bog plate restaurant. Everything feels very rushed; I'm amazed the staff was as nice as they were on a Saturday evening. The food was good, but very heavy and oily. Portions are huge; I had 3 meals from my chicken buschetta. Drinks were excellent. I might go back on a Tuesday afternoon, but never for a dinner service. read more

Headed here on Sat night, put our name in for 35 minute wait, headed to the bar. Had drinks standing behind people, but 4 seats opened up and we grabbed them quick. Bartender was very good, but the food was very, VERY GOOD! We used to go to the older JMs, but haven't been for a while. What a gem this place is! Much better food than I remember the old one having. I had the Chicken Marsala over spaghetti, hubby had Veal Saltimboca, friends had Beef Stroganoff and American Chop Suey. All meals were tasty, fresh, hot, and large portions. My Stroganoff pal tried my Marsala and will be ordering the Marsala next time. We all left very happy and are looking forward to coming back. read more

We love this place! Great casual date night. The food is amazing and the staff are all super nice and accommodating. The portions are huge, so an appetizer in addition to the fresh bread isn't necessary, but their homemade fried mozzarella is delicious. Johnny Mac's has the best lobster raviolis. They are full of Maine lobster and served with an outstanding vodka cream sauce. It's probably the only dish on the menu that isn't massive, but that is understandable considering the cost of lobster. My order had 8 raviolis. Be sure to have some bread handy to sop up the leftover sauce. Also, the large chicken parm is huge and a great value at $18. read more

This was our first visit to Johnny Macaroni's but it surely will NOT be out last!!! Super nice waitress, quick service but what did you really come to check out???? Oh!!! I know!!! The food. Well it certainly does not disappoint. He had a dish that included chicken parm, fried ravioli and a meatball. I had to have a bite and it was delicious. I just have 3 words for my meal : Chicken. Autumn. YUM!!!! Limited time only dish of butternut squash ravioli, chicken, caramelized apples, cranberries & walnuts in an incredible, brown-sugary sauce. Portion size is awesome. What a great place! Nice wine selection. I had one of their specials. Lemon rosemary grilled swordfish in a light lemon sauce with baked potato, and roasted green beans. Fish was PERFECTLY cooked and delicious. My husband had baked stuffed scrod w/seafood stuffing, roasted broccoli and baked potato my friend had salmon in a spinach sauce with grape tomatoes and some other veggies. Looked great! She said it was. Served with ravioli. Her husband had chicken parm, 2 huge pieces w/pasta and their homemade sauce. Large varied menu, difficult to choose but everything sounded great. When you get too busy to answer the phone, or when you do answer the phone put the customer on hold for 10 minutes, you must be doing great. Although there may be a time when you need customers and the place I order from tonight, who has time to answer the phone and take my order will be getting my business. Kiarra needs a little customer service training. First call...Can you please hold (rhetorical, really because I don't get to say anything. 10 minutes later (iphone times the call...so that isn't an exaggeration...and I feel stupid that I waited that long!) I hang up Second call. Can you please hold...again, no chance to speak. I hang up and call back. Busy...busy for 10 minutes. Next call...can you please...WAIT, I yell. I've been put on hold twice and once it was for 10 minutes. She said, well we are very buys. I said I wanted to order food to go...and she let me know it would be an hour wait. Nothing like really discouraging someone from ordering. Thanks. Asked for her name which she refused to give to me and hung up telling me I was being rude. Called back...She offered me to speak with the manager who ended up being Benjamin, the kitchen manager who seems like a reasonable person...explained that they really were so busy with the restaurant and catering but didn't excuse her behavior. He tried to make things right, I'm sorry. I worked in restaurants and kitchens and you absolutely don't piss off the person making your food. He said that it would NEVER happen in his kitchen. When I asked if smoking was allowed in his kitchen, he said, "never!" I mentioned to him how once when picking up take out the chef was vaping. So...there you go. This is okay Italian. I mean, were in East Bridgewater, not the Boston "North End" so you need to keep your expectations in perspective. Food is decent, my wife ordered a chicken parmigiana dinner, and I ordered one of the chef's specials (grilled chicken of sorts). Both dinners were good, we enjoyed them and plenty of portions to bring home. Menu offers a very good selection with a wide variety of entrees at reasonable prices to appeal to even the most discriminating taste. To me, though, the atmosphere (at least at this location) is just "blah". Felt more like I was eating at a truck-stop diner than an actual nice Italian restaurant. It was crowded, loud, tables on top of each other; not really enjoyable If I'm being honest. Which made it even more surprising when the hostess appeared horrified that we showed up without any reservations. Oh the shame..... Going forward, I expect my preference will be to order take out. read more

I have been passing by this restaurant for over 15 years. I did not have a chance to try them because they were always closed on Monday which was my only day off. The last Tuesday was my day off so my wife and I decided to went in. We went to the original branch right next to the train track. The outside looks small from 106 but when you get inside, it's a decent comfortable size. Parking space is plenty out back. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 pastas. We were happy with all the dishes we ordered. Even had leftover for the next days. This is a very decent Italian restaurant. They have two more branches the next town over. Johnny Mac's is one of me and my family's favorite places to eat in Bridgewater! We order from here frequently and are never disappointed. They have dine-in as well but with 3 kids sometimes it's easier to just order takeout. The staff is always incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. I always get the Salmon CherylAnn but also love the chicken Florentine, and they have the best chicken fingers and fried ravioli as well. Really there is nothing I have eaten here that I didn't like! The kids love it too. The only thing I will say is they are incredibly busy so if they tell you 30 min for pickup, give them 50-60. This is specifically the West St location, I have never tried the others but I'm sure they're just as good! read more

This place was recommended to me before I moved to the Bridgewaters! After being here for the first 5 years, went with friends. I must have ordered the wrong meal, didn't like my meal at all! Went again 3 years later, had the scallop meal, Absolutely, amazing! Told the waitress to tell the chef, they were spot-on!! Just went today for my birthday, Festival of Italy, lasagna, chicken parm with sausage! Unfortunately, my chicken parm was a bit crisp on the edges, but the chicken was tender. Sausage very good and lasagna excellent! Definitely going back to try some salmon! The acholic drinks are fabulous, too! Chocolate Martinis!!!! I go here for two simple reasons: a delicious red sauce, and large portions that always guarantee me a great lunch for the next day (or two)! Yes, the sauce is not the most sophisticated sauce in town, but what can I say; it's just a great basic simple red sauce, and I love it! We always enjoy the Caesar salad served with a great tasting basket of bread, always love any of 'the parms' (veal, chicken & especially the eggplant) love the Specialty dishes like the Italian Combonazion. The pasta is always cooked 'al dente' which is perfect. We have ALWAYS had to wait for our table, but we know that going in. It's popular and busy...because the food is good! So, 15 minutes and 1 drink after we've arrived, we're sitting down to a delicious meal that I've been looking forward to all day. Sure, there are fancier restaurants with more sophisticated sauces and options and decor. But for my money, I know we're going to have a great meal with friendly and professional service at a reasonable price at Johnny Macaroni's, and it's worth my drive from 3 towns away to get it! read more

I've been driving past this place for much of my adult life. The impression that you get from route 106 as you whiz by is; underground bunker. What you're actually looking at is the back of the place, and what a surprising place it was. I went there for a family gathering of about 18, and while the seating was tight it was accomplished. They also have a narrow, but well stocked bar. We're Italian and often what was served at home was superior to what you could get out. But my sometimes picky family members unanimously loved our meals. Several got baked, stuffed shrimp and none would give me a bite, so I can't tell you if I liked it, only that they did. I had veal bona boca, replacing traditional saltimbocca's prosciutto with Genoa salami. I really enjoyed it and brought enough home for a second meal (not a snack, a meal!). All the meals were rather large portions. The bread served (and the garlic bread ordered) were particularly good. I'm glad to have finally tried Johnny Macaroni's, and I do recommend it to people all the time now. read more

I don't know how they have such large portions and low prices. I'm worried! And they make you enter through the back!! OK, I'm not really worried but I'm curious. The woman across from me was served her pasta in a bowl the size of a serving bowl. It was amazing ;) Was there with my bride and another couple. I have the chicken parm with eggplant on top. Nick R recommended it and I was afraid of going against such an expert. He and they did not let me down. The chicken was tender and the eggplant addition was a ncie thin slice right on top of the chicken. The 2 pieces of chicken were a good 4 inches long by a couple of inches wide. Each! And they came with 4lbs of pasta - just kidding - but it did come with a bunch of perfectly cooked linguini. (my choice) The taste was very good. The sauce was very good although I personally like just a little more grease/oil. But for a restaurant sauce it was an A. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala which was very good. She loved that they used fresh mushrooms and not canned. Again a giant portion. Our friends got the Steak Pizzaola and the Bona Boca Steak. I tried a bite of the Bona Boca and it was a nice piece of meat with lots of flavors. I really enjoyed the onion side of that dish. We started with Calamari and the Fried Mozzarella. The calamari was good but there was a lot of other stuff. It seemed like there were more tomatoes than anything. The fried mozz was very good. they were about the size of chicken fingers. The drinks were tasty and cheaper than other places. All in all we all enjoyed ourselves and give it a thumbs up. Please get some AC in the bathroom as it was about 108 when I went in there. Oh and the place was crazy loud and cramped. It was a saturday night but yikes! So 5 stars on the food but down to 4 for the rest. read more

We went to this place about a week ago... but since I recently gave a (well-deserved) crappy review for another local restaurant, I figured I'd even out my karma-- We came here on a whim, after my husband was finished getting a tattoo (It was on our way home.) We walked in, at 6pm on a Friday night and immediately got a seat at a high-top within the bar... Bar mix was waiting for us, and it was delicious!! We were greeted by the very friendly bartender.... started off with a beer for hubby and a watermelon margarita for me. I would give the margarita a 9.5/10... one of the best I've had! FYI-- there is no beer on draft here but the bar is exceptionally well stocked with other treasures!! We both ordered a pasta dish-- can't remember the name-- the "Uncle Abe", perhaps? SO. GOOD. one of the best italian dishes I've EVER had... and the portion size was EASILY enough for a very large dinner serving and dinner the next day!! Anyway, GO HERE. you wont regret it! I went here last for dinner with my cousin and it wasn't the greatest experience I have had at a restaraunt. The atmosphere was as if I was going into a 1980's restaraunt that hasn't been update since. Not the prettiest place I have seen. Plus last night was colder than freaking Alaska and it felt like the place hadn't turned on the heat since 1980. When you have to eat with your jacket on there is something wrong with the place. Secondly it took 12 minutes for a waitress to come over after being sat by the hostest and it wasn't busy at all. The waitress was friendly when she came over, but my recommendation would be to hire a few more waitresses. She was running around like a chicken with her head cut off for night that wasn't so busy. My cousin and I both ordered ceasar salads which were good. They were both served with homemade croutons from the fresh italian bread that they serve. Then we ordered our meals, I ordered a side or eggplant parm which was mediocre at best. The sauce was flavorless and watery and the eggplant was mushy!! My cousin ordered angel hair spaghetti with spinach, garlic and oil and it was massive. Michelle Obama wonders why this country is full of obese people these portions are why. It had to have at least 2 boxes of spaghetti on her plate. It was flavorful, I will give it that, but my god save yourself some money and lessen your portions. When we finished our meals it took the waitress again a very long time to box up our food and didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert, which we had to ask for a dessert menu. The dessert was probably the best thing I ate all night besides the Italian bread with the oil. We ordered a chocolate chip pie that came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge drizzled on it. It was great. The pie was like eating a big thick warm choc chip cookie.
