Once we arrived we were greeted with the friendliest hostess. Food was absolutely amazing. You get a warmfamily feeling when dining here!

We had the wings and grilled chicken Caesar salad hoagies which were great but there's something off with the Caesar dressing imo. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

Service is superb. The staff wanted to make sure I had a fresh cake. Their hard work with the display worked on me as I got a pistachio cake slice in addition to their special of salted caramel crunch vanilla. I think the pistachio one comes out the most for me because they used actual pistachios. The crunch from the other one comes from the nuts I think, but it works. With both cakes, the syrup texture felt similar and even though I liked the syrup, I didn't love it. I'm not an expert on making food, but this is what my palette was telling me. Maybe others can offer an opinion on their cakes as well. I also ordered their special of Ricotta Special Bread. They have a picture of this on their IG, and it's almost like a pizza, but it just works. The combination of flavors and the different type of ingredients, and the portion size is nice. This should probably be a regular on their menu instead. One of the ladies working there was raving about how she wanted some herself too- I wasn't sure if it was just her being a great employee- but no, it's the real deal! The staff here really want to make you feel like you're at home. I'm wavering between 4 and 5 stars here, and I think it comes down to based on what you order and if you enjoy it or not. I think some of their items will "knock you out of the park" and others are just okay. I don't think there will be anything people would absolutely hate unless they are too picky. They update their FB and IG, but their website doesn't have the current specials listed. Just me thinking about it, it sounds like a lot to update.

    Homemade Italian dishes!

We were in the area visiting from DE., found this place with good ratings, good reviews & great food! Everyone was friendly, accommodating & you can feel the Italian vibe in the air. We started w/appetizers: the meatballs & cheesesteak egg rolls. The egg rolls tasted freshly made & tasted like a crunchy little cheese steak. The meatballs...omg!!!!....these are the real deal, all beef, homemade! Side note: we met the owner table side, telling him what good food he served. In conversation, my wife mentioned she has food allergies & couldn't eat some of the items on menu. She mentioned how good the cheese steak egg rolls looked but they come from same fryer as shellfish so she couldn't have them. Johnny came back shortly with a cheese steak egg roll & grilled it for her, (so not to trigger her allergies), which she loved. It says a lot about what Johnny Paisano's is all about. A team working together like family. For entrees, I got the short rib ragu over fresh Pappardelle pasta and my wife got the braciole. Both dishes had home made Italian gravy that tasted so fresh, garden tomatoes, garlic, herbs & spices with a whole lotta love going into this sauce. The meat in both our dishes was flavorful & tender. I couldn't believe it, but we had barely enough room for deserts: The Chocolate Bomb & Crème Brûlée cheese cake. Looks can be deceiving; the Chocolate Bomb, filled with chocolate mousse, cream filling & Nestle Crunch crust, was 1/2 as heavy as the cheesecake. Both....were amazing! We live 1 1/2 hrs away, but Johnny Paisano's is locked in my favorite restaurants!

Food was delicious, came out quickly, huge portions, fair prices, clean space, and friendly staff. Also Johnny is hilarious! -UF Florida waterpolo team

Homemade fresh Chicken Pot Pie Soup

On this cold night, we are enjoying the Amazing Escarole soup, Chicken Pot Pie soup, and Chicken Caesar Salad. Over the top FRESH and FLAVORFUL. Bellissimo!

My Wife and I were looking for something quick to eat for lunch and came across this place and figured it was worth a try from what we heard. As soon as we entered it has a classic and intimate atmosphere. The staff was friendly and immediately invited us to sit down. They have an extensive menu of a wide range of Italian foods but I decided I had to try the Italian sub. The Italian sub was packed with so much flavor, quality meats, and all the toppings you would want on it.....it was overflowing. I took my time and enjoyed the experience.....I personally can't wait until I return.

Huge servings of delicious, homestyle Italian dishes served with hot, toasted garlic bread. Loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere (shout out to our friendly server, Bernie) and the wide variety of pastas and sauces. The dining room is small, so try a weeknight or arrive before 5 to get a table for an early supper.

When one door closes another opens and the Universe has done well for our local Restaurateurs, Johnny and Christine Minicozzi. You won't find the famous "Johnny Paisano" on Baltimore Pike anymore. Not even in a small location on Leamy Ave. Find them where Staples and Giant are at Sproul/Rt 420, Springfield Shopping Center, 751 Sproul Road, Springfield, 19064. Johnny's new location is now open, comfortable with pleasant personnel and still the very best Italian Food in the area. Great seating, plus catering, takeout and refrigerators stocked with soups and easy to take home foods. I used his catering for my Sister's Funeral 9/2023 and people are still talking about the quality food they delivered. Come back, I did with the juiciest mushroom cheese pizza steak. When I first stopped in here it was in a whim, and although they do have a selection of whimsical, sweet, dare I say, ridiculous and sweet coffee beverages, they were able to make me a traditional Italian macchiato. I had been unable to find a good, even passable REAL macchiato anywhere, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Not only was the drink silky, strong, and small, it was made with outstanding Italian roasted espresso that has a different character than the standard, heavier-roasted American palate has come to be used to. This alone would have been enough for me to return time and time again when I was in the area, but after getting breakfast sandwich on a whim, this instantly became a weekly stop; more than that, a destination. Fast forward a few years and the initial attraction of coffee, sandwich, and friendly staff has transformed into a beautiful relationship where I can easily walk in, everyone knows me before I am all the way through the door, and even knowing my idiosyncrasies, are still excited to see me and listen to me prattle on about whatever might be the story of the day. The time spent here has given me the opportunity to try nearly everything on the menu and try every drink available. Including all the dry goods, pasta for sale, frozen trays of delicious Italian staples, and more. I am not one to just stick to the things I know I enjoy as I am always on a journey for something interesting and exciting, so whenever something shows up I am getting that rather than something in my "comfort zone". This has led to me traditionally losing interest or finding that the quality of a place declines for myself over time, especially multiple years. Not the case here at Napoletano, it has only done the exact opposite and gotten much more rewarding and somehow even more delicious and embracing of people and everyone who comes through the door. This brings me to my most recent food adventures into the menu here, the newest additions for the most part, the added amazing hoagie list. I have had two. The first I tried was the Gondolier, which I was enamored with for weeks. I had been there too early to order lunch time and time again, and then FINALLY, one day it was about time for lunch to be available and Michelle, the wonderful woman running the front of house and so much more, was able to get me this sandwich just a bit early. It had it all....outstanding bread, roasted red peppers, seriously premium meats, both standard deli and cured. However, something just missed the mark for me. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what and I don't know why. I was immediately disappointed, likely because I had hyped this up in my head for so long and I have come to expect so much from Napoletano, I simply couldn't believe that this wasn't the best hoagie I had ever enjoyed. That fact has eaten at me for at least a month now, but today that all changed, and is possibly why I finally found my voice to put all my thoughts together an write this after so many years. During my visit to say hello today, I realized it was once again right around the time where I could order sandwiches. I toyed with the thought of the cutlet sandwiches or even the Cuban which is amazing, but after going around and around and around talking to everyone working about this and that, I finally decided on another hoagie; the Sicilian. Kris, another of my favorite people along with Fanny (who was on vacation) helped me inch toward this one based on my description of my whole previous experience, and tbh is sandwich is so interestingly unique. Topped with lemon and orange zest, it doesn't sound like it would work, but once you take your first bite, you begin to examine your entire existence. Why have you never had a specialty Italian hoagie topped with citrus zest??? The question has been running through my head all day since lunch, and I still cannot understand why I haven't been enjoying something like this my entire life. So many years lost of amazing sandwich experiences.....this sandwich was so divine, despite looking slightly barren and strange, that it blew apart my entire disappointment I had been holding since the gondolier. I will absolutely try the other four in the list. I would have anyway, but this definitely took that mission off of life support and put it front and center. There are so many reasons to go to Napoletano. I could spend another thirty paragraphs writing about what is great about this place, the people, the drinks, the space, all of it. But instead of doing that, you should just go here. Even if you're not close, and enjoy!

Of course, I had to pay extra to get "extra" meat on my sandwich and you can't even ask for just white meat. If you don't pay extra, you have zero chance of feeling as if you got a turkey sandwich. The last time we were there (and I see no reason for it to not be our LAST visit), the guy at the counter actually agreed with me that it is actually a stuffing sandwich (as opposed to a turkey sandwich with stuffing on it)! I paid the extra money again, but got no more meat than the usual scraps, which were a mix of mostly dark meat, and some dry, hard bits of white meat. Atrocious. Are all the locations this bad?
