Lariele had been sitting on my "must-visit" list for a long time. Every time I checked their online menu, all I noticed were pizzas and a cheesesteak stromboli. As a result, I never made the trip. On this particular night, something told me to keep scrolling. Good thing I did. Buried farther down the menu was an entire cheesesteak section. I'm glad I found it. You're glad I found it. The woman working that night was fantastic. I had plenty of questions, and she patiently answered every one of them. They make their own pizza dough in-house but use Liscio's rolls for their cheesesteaks. Naturally, I asked the important question: "Should I get the cheesesteak stromboli instead?" Her answer was immediate. "No. The cheesesteak is very good." I respect that kind of confidence. I kept digging for information and learned they also make their own pizza sauce. That sealed the deal. I ordered a pizza steak with pepperoni and no peppers. Sidebar: Peppers on a pizza steak completely threw me for a loop. I wasn't emotionally prepared for that menu option. I took my cheesesteak over to 2SP Brewing in Aston. Sadly, there was no Fuzzy Math on tap. I'm not sure what I did to deserve that level of disappointment. Maybe they hate me now. Came in for restaurant week and April was our server. She had a packed restaurant and was the only server! She managed to take amazing care of us during our dining experience and got our orders in in a timely manner despite the packed restaurant with multiple large tables. Food was also great! Came in out of the rain and had a decent dinner! Smallish interior that's kind of got a slightly fancy vibe, given the white tablecloths. Got the arugula beet salad, chorizo pizza, and chicken tenders with fries. Nothing was too salty, everything was well seasoned and tasty. My main complaints were: 1, the pizza was soggy in the center so I had to eat the pizza with a fork and knife (it did taste yummy and fresh, though) and 2, service was a bit slow even though there was only one other dine-in party besides us. There were many takeout orders, though. My husband really didn't like that the pizza was soggy but I thought the chorizo and cheese combo on the pizza was pretty delicious. read more

I've walked by Lariele dozens of times in Media, and have always been intrigued - so glad I got the opportunity to check it out during a recent midday lunch early in the week. We were seated promptly, and our server, Jenna, was incredible throughout the meal. Friendly, attentive, quick with a recommendation or a refilled water glass - fantastic from the jump. The vibe inside is simple, clean, and lovely. The food is all made to order, but everything came out quickly and perfectly. The Sicilian wings my friend ordered looked and smelled delicious, but I took the recommendation and loved my chicken parmesan over spaghetti - a triumph. The chicken was breaded and cooked perfectly, and was flavorful and not overwhelming. The pizza also looked and smelled incredible - I'm going to have to go back and try a few of their original, yummy choices. The price was right, and it really was a pretty perfect lunch. I came here with a group of people and it was amazing service! The food was so delicious! We were able to get garlic knots, bruschetta, and a couple of different types of their pizzas. Got the vodka pizza and chicken parm. Pizza was completely cold when it came out. Flavor was okay but since it was cold + okay flavor it's not worth $22 that I paid. The chicken parm itself was good and hot but the pasta that came with it was horrible, the pasta sauce was so watery and the pasta was soft, again not worth the $22 that I paid. Had a great dinner with a small group of friends on a weeknight during Media Restaurant Week. The restaurant had a nice vibe, safe spacing, and the food was delicious! BYOB is also such a great thing. We all opted for the Restaurant Week deal: $25 for salad or meatballs, personal pizza, and a slice of cheesecake but we also were not shy with appetizers! The meatballs were good and also pretty large. Caesar salad was very decent and a good size. Also ordered the egg rolls which were tasty but I wish they had a different sauce. Truffle fries were also enjoyed. The pizzas we had were margarita, pepperoni, the nanny (I recommend!) and a vodka pie for the table. The personal pizzas were thinner than the normal sized pie but just as delicious. The Nanny was a unique pizza that's not a true white pie but the balsamic and tomatoes added nice acid. The vodka pie was also delicious!! It was a very doughy pie so I think I would have liked more sauce but the crispy prosciutto was great. The Restaurant Week deal really was the way to go. Great spot for a date, family meal, and pizza that's nicer than your average pizza shop. They do a lot of take out but it's just as nice sitting inside. read more

I'm usually not one to complain about bad experiences anywhere, and I like to think I'm considered a low maintenance customer, but after the awful experience me and five of my friends had last night I need to vent. We made a reservation earlier in the week for 7 PM when we first got there the waitress approached us asking for our name, then proceeded to say that our reservation was for 630 instead of 7pm. My friend who made the reservation pulled up her confirmation email and said no it was for seven not 630pm. The waitress then said "you called earlier to change the time". She told us that she could try to quickly flip a table, but that we should go next-door to have a drink and wait. After a half hour we went back and she acted like we were an inconvenience and started talking about us to other tables. After waiting another 25 minutes at the table, not being given wine, glasses or menus we decided to get up and leave. We've never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome in a place before. No one took accountability for the messed up reservation or said a simple "I'm sorry". My friends and I had a great dinner at Spazzo's that night instead and couldn't help but tell the story to everyone we saw (most people have been there before and bad experiences as well). read more

We had a large (30 people) gathering here and everything was perfect! Pizza was amazing (we had almost every type and each one was really good), and so was the bruschetta and garlic knots! We had dinner at this BYOB in downtown Media. There is metered street parking which is enforced Monday through Saturday until 6pm. There aren't many tables so I was glad we'd made reservations. April gave us good suggestions for our meals. We started with prime rib egg rolls. They had a good ratio of meat to cheese with a delicious horseradish crema. They were crispy and not greasy. We also had the ala vodka pizza. The crust was perfectly crispy and the toppings were also a good ratio to the crust. We really liked that it was BYOB plus they serve Coke products. We were in the city earlier and weren't having good luck finding a decent restaurant that would take walk ins. We left the city and headed over to Media. I was able to make a quick reservation online and our table was ready by the time we arrived. I am giving 4 stars due to this place being BYOB and the service being a little slow. We split the ceasar salad which had homemade croutons and it was delicious! We also ordered the Alla vodka pizza which had prosciutto on it and the traditional roman red. The experience here truly was just ok. It looks like a cool spot, modern wooden tables & chairs. Their pizza oven is the main attraction, and looks pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the pizza didn't really live up to the hype. They really did a nice job advertising the oven and the pizza, but the quality wasn't all there. The sauce was pretty mild, had a heavy tomato taste, not much herb/spice - didn't feel homemade. The dough also could have been cooked more to be a wood-fired grill pizza. Hardly any char, and it was chewy (not like thats a bad style of pizza, just not what I was anticipating.) It was good, but would be open to trying pizza from one of the other many pizza joints on the main drag there. Their menu was great though - lots of options just for pizza variety, but they offer other Italian entrees as well. They also offer beer & wine! In addition, we ordered the truffle fries, which again, were good, but nothing to write home about. This is just one example that shows their menu is a little more elevated than just a corner pizza shop. If you live close to this spot or are looking for speciality pizza, then I say go for it & give it a try. If not, I would keep your options open. read more

We were not served until 20 mins after being seated. After placing our orders, we waited another 20 mins to flag down a server and ask where our appetizers were. The server then delivered our cold appetizers. We sent then back. After more waiting, our entrees arrived... luke warm. After finishing our mediocre food, we again had to flag down a server for our check and remind them to bring our dessert. Upon opening the check, I discovered a 20% gratuity fee is already included in my total. I ask to speak to the manager who says that automatic gratuity is used for tables of 6+ people, not the 2 people we had. She fixed the issue and assured us it was a mistake. Working as a server myself, I know this was done intentionally. The server likely told a manager she thought our table was not going to tip her. She was correct, but the awful service did not deserve a tip. The staff attempted to trick us into paying 20% after serving us cold food. I will never return to Lariele and I will tell everyone I know this amusing story. There's much better Italian food on the same street in Media. read more

We have visited this restaurant multiple times and the service was always poor. We tried it again for medias dining under the stars and the restaurant had a set menu offering all you can eat for $30. This consisted of one appetizer and either a pizza or pasta dish. The wait time was ridiculous for getting your meal and then when ordering more was even more ridiculous and instead of the same portion you got a quarter of it which was simply not enough. My daughter and their husband and 5 little ones ! originally called informed that they may not be open on Sunday, but they would call us if they decided to open. Which was very lucky for us. My wife and I were excited when restaurants were able to open back up again. We love to support our local businesses and haven't been able to explore as much as we would like. We were happy to see Lariele is following all of the Covid rules. The staff was super friendly and thankful for every customer that came in. Now let's get down to business, the food! We started with the baby spinach salad... Amazing. This is something that will bring me back. It's light and refreshing which is perfect before you dig into pizza. Next we had to try the truffle fries. They were on point. Honestly, I don't know if i've ever had bad truffle fries haha. The pizza was good not great which is the reason for 4 stars. Worst place I ever dined and I dine a lot! Waited forever for our server to come to our table. My niece ordered the pasta fazool for an appetizer and it tasted very bland like hot water and tomatoes. We ordered 3 different pizzas and they had no taste as well - like sauce on a piece of bread and the crust was not cooked. It was soft and chewy like it was cooked in a microwave. My sister in law ordered the lasagna and never got her order and my fiancee ordered the chicken parm which was bland as well. To top it off, it's BYOB which is fine, but I wanted to at least look forward to a cocktail since our food and service was under par. Our family loves this pizza. Normally we get with the traditional or the margarita pie and add a meat (sausage or pepperoni). Our kids love the fries (of course). Wings were oven roasted were good. I didn't try salad but everyone else said it was very good. Two pizzas ordered. The margherita and the poppy which was sausage pepperoni and mushrooms. Toppings were delicious. The crust was awesome and tasty. This was the kind of pie you just keep eating until your stuffed. So consider yourself warned. Will definitely be back to try other types of pizza. One other interesting note. You can order drinks from Stephens on State and bring to your table to enjoy. "Their way" is a "good way"... I tried a pizza and a salad take out. The recurring theme I realized is that everything has a slight twist from what I'm used to and Everything works to create delicious food and I will be back to consume more. Pizza crust is a nice thickness, not too thin yet not too thick. Slightly chewy but with a little crunch on the edges. The crust has a slight smell and taste of yeast in every bite. Went early in the dinner hour. The place was empty and the manager was yelling about staff on the phone in the kitchen. The server was very pleasant. We asked about the daily special posted on the website. We were told that there weren't any such things. We ordered the meatball appetizer and the arugula salad, which was supposed to feature prosciutto and aged cheese. There was a bare dusting of cheese. As to the prosciutto, i couldn't find any. I asked the manager, who appeared both defensive and dismissive, and she said that there were prosciutto " crumbles". I couldn't see or taste anything like that in the salad. I did finally find two things that crunched at the bottom of the plate, but one of them was an olive pit. Poor customer relations, poor management attitude. read more

I cant even describe to you how amazing this place was. Pizza was so good & crispy. It had just the right amount of crunch to it. The sauce was perfect. Not too tangy, not too sweet. We tried the alla vodka & pepperoni abruzzi! Little tip... sit at the pizza bar if you can. The pizza guy talked to us and showed us our pizza before serving it to us to make sure it was crispy enough. I stumbled across this pizzeria yesterday while walking down State Street. The pie I saw a couple in the window eating looked fantastic so I had to come back today to try it. While waiting, I learned this is owned by the same people who own Stephen's On State in Media and TWENTY9 in Malvern. I went to their website to call in advance but the phone number didn't work. That is right. The phone number on their website didn't work. Turns out calls were bouncing to a manager at their Malvern location TWENTY9. She mentioned she thought they fixed that. A MAJOR maketing FAIL. But I was determined and drove there to order in person. The space looks nice - open with light pouring in through the windows - with the wood burning oven in the back center. Unfortunately, it looked like the AC was either not working or turned on. I grabbed a large plain roman old world square. Baked in a 900 degree oven and cooked the way I like it - more to the well side with a slight char on the outside. Every pie seems to have cheese bubble burns as I watched the pizzaiolo work. Unfortunately, the take out box has no holes to allow the pizza to breathe so there is a danger of CARDBOARD taste contamination. They also should use some wax paper. When I finally got the pizza home to taste it I was very impressed. The pizza is Trenton style with cheese on the bottom and tomato sauce on the top with fresh shaved locatelli cheese on top. The sauce was awesome. The crust light and airy with crunch at the end. Immediately this pizza became a serious contender for BEST PIZZA OF DELCO along with Gaetanos and Ravanessi. . This pizza ROCKED! Cost was around $15. I was surprised they didn't cut me a break since that phone problem I pointed out to them could have been costing them MAJOR lost business. read more
