This place was all over the place. Burgers and shakes, video games, sports on big screens and a centralized full service bar. And chandeliers to boot! Food: Excellent shakes. What don't fit in the serving cup, they give you in the blending cup. Onions rings are goooooood! Like Jack In the Box! Mushroom burger, greasy. Like they added butter on top of the toppings and bread. Service: Our server was on it! She was very efficient and friendly! Food came out fast!!! Watching the game: Can't miss a thing! This review is gonna be kinda short. Decided to bring the kids here before our 715p movie and they had a blast. I mean they're 10 year old boys so ofcourse they will have a good time. I do wish they would have a little more games to play. Anyway, first time eating here and the route 66 was bomb! Yall should give that burger a try. We come here quite often. We like it ... nonetheless the service is CRAP!!! Not the people working the front ... rather, whoever is scheduling them. I've come numerous times during peak lunch hours and there's only one person working the front tables and counter. The servers take the brunt of the ire from customers but really it's not their fault. They are running around like crazy trying to help every table ... today there were 10 full tables. *First timers! My husband and I have been wanting to come here to try their food and bring our daughter for the games. Cool ambiance, pretty similar to Dave and Busters (although they don't have any eat and play deals). However, the prices weren't too bad at all! My family and I walked in right before a rush came so we didn't have to wait to be seated. We walked in at the same time with a couple of other families, was welcomed and greeted, and was sat to our tables. We have a 1 year old so we asked to be seated at a booth rather than a table with regular chairs, accommodation made with no problem. Our server was very friendly - she gave us some recommendations, made small talk, and took our order. But that was it...after we got our food, we weren't checked up on to see if we needed anything else. And as we're almost done with our food, another server came to give us our check (although we weren't asked if we wanted anything more, which we did). Our food was delicious and it came to our table quick! My husband ordered a philly cheese steak, I got a rocket dog, and we shared an order of chili cheese fries (which was more than enough for the both of us). We also got an Oreo shake with chocolate syrup to-go after a round of games. The games weren't compatible for a 1 year old, which we were pretty bummed about. She rode on about 2-3 car rides and a carousel. All the other games are more for the older kids and adults, which makes it more like Dave and Busters (they also have a bar). Their credit system works like the ones in Fun Factory where you purchase and load your own game cards. We had a good time - definitely a place we can come back another time to dine. I found out that Johnny Rockets opened in the Ka Makana Ali`i Shopping Center and so we decided to try it out for lunch today. We got there at 12:30, no one was waiting in front of the 2 hostess' and there was one open table. They looked at me and I had to ask them if we could be seated for lunch (pointing at the open table). I was told that I need to put my name on a list and take a buzzer. I did that and we started to look around at the games. We were then told that the party before us had canceled and so we were seated. Our server was fine and took our order. The fries with cheese and bacon were yummy. Another server came to deliver our burgers and he was super nice and friendly. I traded my bacon burger for the kids meal (two mini burgers on sweetbread) and added the veggies from my burger. I think I enjoyed it because I also added some ranch sauce from my other kids chicken tenders, lettuce, tomato and onions. The onion rings were also nice and crispy. It turns out that my son didn't like the bacon bkourger and he ended up eating the fries. I got to try the strawberry banana shake which had real strawberries and was on the sweeter side. The chocolate shake was okay...but I think I'd rather have it from an ice cream shop. We took awhile to eat and so I was able to notice the different servers. The others were more personable and one also told the table next to us that at Johnny Rockets, they give service with a smile...and presented a plate with a ketchup happy face. I think little things like that would make customers more happy and comfortable. Overall the food was fine if you like burgers and fries. The restaurant is also kind of loud because of the game machines, but not to the point where it's annoying. The hostess need to work on greeting customers and it would've been nice to have a more friendly server. We weren't super impressed, so we'd probably go elsewhere if we had to choose a place to eat at Ka Makana Ali`i. The bf and I had to make a stop at the mall and were STARVING. What to eat? Panda's? Nah, the bf wanted a burger. Five Guys? Hmm, he's doesn't really like their fries. As we made a right by the move theater, we see big red umbrellas and flashing arcade lights. "Oh, Johnny Rockets opened over here?!" To our surprise and delight, our dinner prayers had been answered. When you walk in, half of it is the arcade and half of it is the restaurant. We realized that in this Johnny Rockets, you have to wait to be seated. Once seated, we got our menus. We knew we wanted burgers, so that was an easy decision. I got the Route 66 and the bf got the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. We also shared an Oreo shake. Everything was good. Burger was small, but well-cooked. My bf's burger was a good portion and full with lettuce tomato, onions, cheese, and lots of bacon! The fries were cooked well. I think my fave part may have been the Oreo shake - big chunks of Oreo and LOVED how they gave us the extra from the metal cup. Win! Sure, it's a bit pricey. Most things are Ala carte. But service and food was worth it. Our waiter Carson was friendly, efficient and remembered everything that we wanted (he didn't write our orders down, what!!) For the service alone really, the bf and I would be back. Although they looked short-staffed, the waiters took care of everyone around them. Will be back. Just had my sons birthday at Rock n Fun in Kamakana Ali'i and our server was amazing! So helpful and didn't rush us at all.

Multiple servers at the restaurant did not wear properly fitted masks. One male even had his mask about an inch away from his face. I observed the servers touch their face and head numerous times with zero hand hygiene. In healthcare we wash our hands between patients, I don't think it's too far of a stretch to wash your hands when serving food. Our server pulled his mask below his mouth to talk to the kitchen staff. This would probably be okay if it wasn't over our food that was under the food warmer. I lost my appetite and did not want to eat after I witnessed this. There were also patrons walking around unmasked drinking their alcohol. read more

It was my first time for my wife and my twins to be part of a birthday party inside here ever since it opened and we always made plans to one day check this place out ensure enough we got the opportunity to be part of this venue at a party and this place is amazing because it has a little bit of everything for kids of all ages even for toddlers that are one years old for those that are just barely walking and taking steps because they have games that are at the height level for them to play games with joysticks and games with racks, and also games with automobiles where they can drive and turn the cars and steering wheel, as well as Car games where they can sit inside in the car. I would move with a small little bump, making it feel a little bit more realistic when the kids drive it. The food is great especially the chicken wings, salty, chicken wings and then of course their french fries so to us it looks like a small version of Dave and Buster's but I think it's a little bit better only because there are less people and then not as crowded and also the seating arrangements are wide enough to fit double strollers, and for people to walk through with enough space between dining, and the restroom itself is nice and clean, situated all the way in the back away from everything else over this place is a great And we are looking forward to going back in the near future. read more

That smokehouse single burger with extra sauce got me going crazy, crazy, crazy. I still talk about it, hours and hours after Ive had it and I will continue to do so because it was that delicious. I didnt even need the fries because the burger itself got me so full and satisfied. Rarely get that feeling of being full and satisfied. There are plenty times I feel full but cannot say satisfied with the food I ate. For Johnny Rockets, I can totally say I felt both full and highly satisfied. The chilli cheese fries wasnt all that, I wouldve enjoyed more if the chilli and cheese were hotter in temperature and with some seasoning on the fries or salt maybe. I didnt really like it, tasted similar to Wendys chilli fries- not all that but not all bad either. Thank the men there for excusing my hungry self who walked into their restaurant with a box of popcorn. The following is my true life for real 100% accurate reflection of my experience at Johnny Rockets at Kapolei Kamakana Alii Mall. This really happened. The lady who seated us look irritated when we walked in. Asked how many I said two she grabbed the menu and just stood there. I looked at her and asked where do we sit? And she rudely says 'just pick wherever you wanna sit'. I was very bothered however my husband loves the Pearl City location and was looking forward to eating a burger here. So I went with it thinking maybe she didn't mean it. When we picked a table the waitress literally throws the menus on the table and just walks away without a word. Bruh. At this point I was even more upset and wanted to leave but my husband insisted he craved it all day. I agreed to stay but I completely lost my appetite and just picked off my husbands food waiting to go eat anywhere else. My thought process is like this: we live in Hawaii where the cost of living is ridiculous and we bust okole to make our money. If I'm gonna spend my hard earned money somewhere I don't need royal treatment but I do expect common courtesy or at least NOT to be spoken to like I am irritating you or have my menu thrown on the table with a snobbish attitude. In literally the FIRST minute of being there she was rude on another level - that is unacceptable thus the 1 star. I figured at least the food will be good. Came here for lunch on Saturday and it was very busy. While we waited for our table we walked around and played some games. I was playing one of the claw games because my niece wanted a stuffed animal. One of the animals was sticking out and looked like it might be easy to grab. I went to add money to my game card and saw one of the employees move the stuffed animal, making it harder to grab! I get that they need to make money but really over a stuffed animal?! I only came here because my son nagged me to go inside because of all the games. The menu looked okay and we were starving. The menu shows a burger with sliced onions, leafy lettuce and tomatoes. Came to watch a fight. I liked that each booth has its own TV. However you can barely here the tv as the arcades games were extremely loud. But good place to get cheap beer I guess. Food is junk. We got the nachos and I must say 7/11 nachos is wayyyyy better. The nachos had little bit of sour cream, chopped tomatoes and cheese that you can barely see on the nachos. Today was a wonderful day I spent with the love of my life Aimee and all of our grandchildren. We decided to take them all shopping at Kamakana Alii and what an adventure that turned out to be, lol, while walking around we walked in this establishment to get the kids some lunch and let them play with all the games and different rides they have to offer. We both were so pleasantly surprised when we were informed that they offered a full bar and a wonderfully wide variety of kid friendly foods our server was very knowledgeable and patient with us , and trust me with four grandchildren running around taking orders was a little difficult, our server after speaking with us called the manager who was extremely knowledgeable about this establishment , it's history , the menu, the owners who came up with the idea for said establishment and a lot more , lol our experience there was spot on , the kids had a blast and my love enjoyed herself as well and we both enjoyed a well deserved break in the middle of mall shopping with our four grandchildren, it was our oasis in the desert and we all Look Forward to coming back to this business. read more

I really can't review the food since we didn't get to even sit down at a table. While the restaurant was less than half full, the hostess said they couldn't seat all 13 of us together. That was fine with us. We told them that we didn't need to be together. We can do a table of 2, a 5, and a 6, anywhere. The host said he needed to ask his manager if that would be ok. Manager said no they want to keep us together. So we were told that it would be a 15-20 wait. In the meantime, people are arriving, they're seated, & they ordered. 30 minutes later we cancel because of their incompetence. I can understand their wanting to even out the distribution of diners to server but this was ridiculous!! When we left the restaurant there were still many tables open in the front. This burger joint is one of a handful of burger joints that have the option to have your protein in either beef, chicken, or veggie. Sweet! I've only had their veggie burger here and I enjoy it. It's light, packed with flavor, and the price is reasonable. The inside has a huge arcade area where kids can be kids. It's in between a Chuck E Cheese and DnBs. I only say this because they have a cocktail menu and happy hour too! The staff are all nice and attentive; Always topping off our waters and asking if everything is going well. The burgers aren't served with fries or sides automatically and have to be served as an add on. We tried their onion rings, to my surprise they were crispy and lightly battered. I thought it was a little bit expensive but I figured it was kind of like Dave and Busters so it would be a little more expensive. The main reason we came here was for the games. My son loves Dave and Busters and this was a nice closer alternative for us since we live in Ewa Beach. The games were kind of expensive, but I suppose that is to be expected with places like these. Also, I kind of thought the games were harder than the ones at D&Bs. I did like that they had more kid games like the kid sized air hockey and motorcycle racing thing. Mu husband and I spent double what we normally spend on games here for my husband to get 2 toys. Lame. BUT... it's about the fun my kid has. My BF and I went here because the idea of Johnny Rockets when you are a child seemed to never fade. I guess you can say we got our hopes up. We ordered an order of cheese fries. What we were expecting, shoestring fries covered in melted shredded Colby jack or cheddar cheese. What we got - slightly undercooked fries covered in nacho cheese that tasted like you were licking your fingers after eating nachos at a professional basketball game. There was so much cheese that we were struggling to find fries not completely smothered in it. Maybe it wouldn't of been such a problem if the cheese wasn't so awful. I heard good things about this place so I took my daughter and a friend to try it. The place is clean and has a fun and energetic ambiance. Unfortunately, the organization and efficiency is less than mediocre. First, we put our orders in and my daughter and friends order came out. They finished their entire meals and had the dishes cleared off without our server even noticing that my meal wasn't brought out yet. My friend mentioned it to the manager who was cleaning off the dishes from our table and when he went to check on it the kitchen said they hadn't gotten the order and the waitress said she had proof in the computer that she had rung my order in. No one took accountability and no one tried to rectify the issue. I decided to just cancel the order since my party was done eating already any way. Then, we decide to go and play the games. We shared one card and played various games. The games were fun, however, the point system is electronically added to the card BUT when we went to the kiosk to check to make sure that the correct amount of points were being added, we were shocked to find that we were ripped off about 550 points. Fortunately, we had the proof. We played the claw game with the tickets and when the worker opened up the case, our tickets were in the drop box so she just added it. What would have happened if we hadn't checked? Overall, I'm not impressed and wouldn't recommend this place. If you're going to spend the amount of money we did last night, we may as well have gone to Dave and Busters. There's way more game variety and more food selection. read more

Are server introduces herself and I swear she saved the night. She was so friendly and just plain awesome at her job. We ordered our food and drinks and waited about 15-20 min for our food. The food itself was just ok. The fires and onion rings are good. The burgers were pretty dry and the chicken tenders were just ok I probably won't come back for the food. The milk shakes though were amazing. We got the strawberry Oreo shake and chocolate banana. Sooo good! Overall this place is alright. I'd rather take my kids to Chuck E. Cheese. I was surprised to enter the restaurant and see games for kids and adults! This place is like a small Dave and Busters, with video games for kids and adults. I even saw adults walking around with alcoholic beverages. My two kids (age 1 and 3) had a blast running around and experiencing the games even if we didn't put money in! The restaurant side was very busy with the limited staff. We came in at 5pm on a Sunday and waited 10 minutes for our seat and 15-20 minutes for our food. We did ask to see the manager, showed him the sandwiches' his answer was we are new. New has nothing to do with product going out these burgers are pre-measured. He offered a new burger and a shake we declined the shake as we were not looking for a free meal just what we paid for. The second burger comes out... just about the same size but the bun was covered and I mean covered with grease... Gave my kid a sore stomach... The fries were tasty kinda strange though you get the fries like they are an appetizer instead of with your burger. NO we will not be back ! Burgers are a rip off... service was good. We should've ate else where... We came on a Saturday night about 6:45pm and the mall was really busy. Inside was busy but not as busy as the neighboring restaurants. We were told it would be a short wait so we were given a buzzer and we played a few games. As we played some games I noticed quite a few tables empty and not being cleared. The games got really boring real quick. Not to mention they were on the pricier side. We went back to the hostess to see when we can be seated. That's when they cleared a table for us and we sat... I wondered how much longer we would have waited if we didn't ask. We ordered burgers, bacon fires, a salad and a kids meal. We also got shakes and floats. I guess if you don't order water you don't get it. Burgers were ok. Salad looked really plain. Kids meal was a so bland my daughter didn't even want to eat it. Bacon fires were the worst. Unsalted fires and cold cheese do not mix. The server on the side of us clearing a table looked at the tip the previous customer left and said out loud "they only left 2 dollars". Real professional. After we noticed how she interacted with her customers and weren't surprised she got a 2 dollar tip. Yep... won't come back. I wouldn't be surprised if this place closes soon. Expensive and you get less than a handful of food for a meal. This is not the place to go if youre hungry. Also the burgers are over loaded with mustard.. Tiny meals and tiny appetizers.. We came here before and actually got fries with our meal, I guess that's not a thing anymore.. We ordered the kids burgers and they got 2 mini sliders and exactly 6 tater tots.
