It had been a long time since I went to Johnny Rockets, and I have to say that they've really gone down hill. I ordered a Route 66 burger to go and found out that fries aren't included anymore. No problem, I'm always willing to pay for fries. The food was cooked quickly which was nice. But the food was awful! The fries were extremely bland and mushy. I started to eat the fries as I was leaving and was extremely disappointed. Had t add a few packs of salt( which I never do) to make it okay. The burger was also disappointing. It tasted really greasy. The mushrooms and onions barely had a taste. Every bite tasted like oil. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone not to I think I'll be back. read more

When I was younger, I really liked Johnny Rockets. Now, I prefer a really thick piece of meat, cooked rare. There are some hamburger places that I have reviewed, which are exactly what I like. Johnny Rockets is only good to go with kids. If you are seeking a fast food joint, you can go here as well. I remember the coke with cherry flavor being really great. This time, I think the server put the cherry flavor in first, then the ice, then the coke. The price point is good for what you are getting. Went here over the weekend and easily the worse one I've been to! It took someone almost 10 mins to address my group (group of 7). I would have left but i was with a group. Fyi, we sat at thebar so you COULD NOT "MISS" US. I had to flag him down for a re-fill as well. Anyway, they had no icecream which is a huge deal their shakes are good. An absolutely exceptional diner warped out of the American 1950s, where the sensation known as "feel good Americana" reigned in the citizens, the culture, and their grease filled chow. This hot spot located on the second floor bleats music from that era of abundant muscle cars and milk shakes, all thanks to classical juke boxes that are supplied to each booth. If you ask nicely, you can get a few nickels to jam in an old time tune into queue. White tiled walls are adorned with classical Coca Cola advertisements and host a number of delightful signs like "Ron eats here." A neat looking bathroom is located in the rear, but just keep yourself in good hygiene and composure as there is only one private john for all. Seats are scarlet in color and their hovering tables are always in clean condition, even during cramped peak times (in which they usually are all in part to this business' success). A waiting line will most likely form during such times, but take my advice if your hungered by both stomach and sight - just take the bar; it's spacious and slime free. Customer service is alright here. Sometimes the always occupied crew will forget a shake to blend or pass on painting an expression constituted of ketchup, but the friendly folks that work here will get your orders done to your specifications. The chow here is worth the greenbacks and taste, with an ever expanding selection of burgers, malts, sides, and other potentially dangerous edibles (as in horrid for one's health). Cowiches include rocket singles (which can up to triple; by number of beef patties), bacon cheddar burgers, patty melts, a scrumptious combination known at the Route 66, the award winning Stream liner, and my favorite - the Saint Louis burger. There is no soda fountain, but the sacrifice is in vain for the several milk shakes like the chocolate shakes, root beer floats, butter finger concoctions, strawberry malts, and much more. Sides come into tasty existence in either french fries and/or onion rings. Most of the time, your server will "paint" up a smiley face in ketchup and open up that cool looking straw dispenser. Give them a tip and a regard if they do! Periodically, the crew will halt their service, flip up a vibrant song, and dance for your entertainment - I've seen some customers join in too, just for your interests. I don't know about the other Johnny Rockets, but this one is not great. I've been here a couple of times in the past. The salad I got the first time was mediocre, I've had better at fast food places The burgers are nothing special, and quite boring. My friend got the cheese fries, they were plain fries with sliced American cheese on top and it was not even melted. While the fries weren't spectacular (tasted like they've been sitting in the pan for awhile), at least the burger was very good. Kind of a strange place because while you are sitting to relax you get the constant feeling you are being rushed. Too much happening and when they break into song and dance its uncomfortable to have to watch and have people dancing while you eat. We have been here about 3 times and the first time the burgers and food were excellent and brought us back. But the next 2 times have not matched and it is pretty costly; We had malts and black and whites and while the malt was good the black and white was disappointing and sub par. The size and taste of the burgers went down and we never approached that "wow" feeling that visit 1 had. The manager was pacing all over the place staring at you so he can get more customers in and helped make that "rushed" feeling even more so. Dont expect a come back to this place. read more

Cheap eats, nice atmosphere. The food is what you would expect from a chain store like this, nothing great, but not too shabby. The real allure is the desserts! Hmmm. How many ways can I say "yuck"!! I just ate in this restaurant at the Palisades Mall and I probably won't ever eat here again. I ordered the promotional burger called the "Houston" with cheese fries and my girlfriend ordered the sliders. The burgers were over done and had no flavor. The cheese on our "cheese fries" weren't even melted. And when the bill came. They charged us $2 for the cheese and $2.49 for club soda!!! Come on!! CLUB SODA!! REALLY!!!! And the flavorless burger was $7.89. I reluctantly ate this greasy mess and still left a tip. I can't blame the waitress for the restaurants dismal failure. We left the restaurant and went upstairs to the food court and got some cheaper eats with better flavor. read more

I ordered the Philly steak sandwich well done and I loved it! They made it exactly how I asked for it. I had to wait a little while for the food because they were busy. Had a Groupon so tried this place located in Palisades mall. Double Hamburger was ok but very greasy and cost almost $10 and $3 for a drink( although they do offer free refills, which is of little value with an absentee waitress) . 2 burgers and and 2 sodas came to almost $30 without fries. this j.r. is located at the palisades mall and my main reason for coming is for the shakes and seeing the staff make fools of themselves singing the johnny rocket tune in those funny looking uniforms . thankfully it's not crowded yet on a friday early afternoon and i have my pick of any booth. it's burgers , fries , shakes , hot dogs , ,etc so the malt shop theme is in play. the gal who took my order was super nice and gave me extra time to order while my niece and her friends were still at the movie theater watching the purge . finally i can order and it's a vanilla shake , fries and we'll done cheese burger which is my monthly limit for guilty pleasure eats . The food ain't bad especially the burger and I asked for no salt on fries and they made no mistakes with my order . So I will start this review off by saying, although the updated "look" of the place was refreshing, the burger I received was NOT!! Also I am 5 months pregnant and my hair is naturally curly, so my review is not biased. I have been to 3 different locations within a few years and I've never experienced having a LONG STRAND OF STRAIGHT HAIR IN MY BURGER!!! YES IN MY BURGER. Now that upset me and I did not make a huge deal out of the situation and to be quite honest, I shouldn't have to in order to have something done about the situation. The only thing the manager did was switch my food for another meal.........when the bill came everything that was ordered was still there. No discount, no drinks taken off.....NOTHING!!! Also, I switched my drink out because for 1 the machine for drinks did not work and they only had shakes, lemonade and coke or Diet Coke as a selection. The lemonade was very bitter and although I switched it out for a coke (which I barely drank) I was charged for the lemonade as well as and extra $.59 cent for the strawberry syrup. I NEVER plan to go back to this location for as long as I live. Being I was in shock, it didn't dawn on me to take a picture until I left. I'm sure if I would have acted an ass they would have gave me my order for free, but I guess deciding not to have the customers know what was going on with my food and possibly happening to their food, the manager decided to switch my burger out as if it was not well done. Went to this location because my friends and I were in the mall and we wanted to end the evening with milk shakes to celebrate my birthday. We were seated immediately and served by a wonderful woman (I wish I got her name). I told her that I really wanted a milkshake and was very upfront about my food allergies. The server asked me first what my allergies were and then explained how the shake machine worked. She told me only one blender part of the shake machine was used for nut-based shakes but would check with the manager anyway to make sure it was safe for me. I picked an Orange Creamsicle shake. After talking with the manger, she told me that they would make it separate so I had nothing to worry about. Talk about accommodation. I told her about my encounter with a certain OTHER restaurant and how they refused to accommodate for me. She was shocked.
