I walked in explained I did not have my receipt but I should be in the system as I was part of the rewards program. The first assistant could not be bothered what so ever . She half heartedly attempted to enter my email in her system but was unable to find me in her system. She was very rude and basically said she was unable to help me without my receipt . The second assistant was very helpful and willing to help me and work with me and she was able to locate me in the system. She said it would be totally fine for me to exchange the faulty jeans for a new pair in store. After finding a pair that were comfortable she came back to the fitting room and said I could no longer exchange the faulty jeans. They could patch them up for me ! A multi million dollar company is offering a patch up service on faulty jeans. This was the decision from the store manager at this branch who was sadly like a robot. No customer support and just a very lame Attitude to me as the customer. This store is possibly the worst experience I have ever come across in my entire life. To be saying one thing to a customer then only to retract the decision was highly unprofessional and totally sub standard. Madewell in Corte Madera turned out to be a shopping nightmare.

It's a cute store in one of safest outdoor shopper centers in the Bay Area, about a 15 minute drive from the northeast quadrant San Francisco. It's quite a long drive for me (over an hour at the least) to get to the store and I need to plan around my work and appointment schedule for errands, so I called the store the next day to ask if the same-day claim applies to my item (namely, is it currently in stock there or if it would take them time to order it), so I can plan my drive. Bear in mind this is a 3+ hour trip for me without traffic, so I can't just do this at the drop of a hat and need to plan well in advance. The woman's answer? Rudely, "I dunno, I have other stuff to do." I told her I'm not asking for an immediate pickup alert, I'm trying to understand if the store has the item in stock or if it needs to be shipped. Still rude, and she says, "We have no way of knowing." Everything is online (and mobile!) and sorted by SKU these days, and associates can check stock on their phones in real time, so I have absolutely no idea why this woman was refusing me service. I most likely will not be purchasing anything from Cuyana after this interaction. It's the worst, rudest and disingenous customer service interaction I've had in quite awhile. And honestly, with a bunch of other shops nearby with similar items, customer service is really what sets physical stores apart. Big thumbs down.

During one of our recent visits, we were searching for a couple of specific items but had difficulty finding the correct size. We asked one of the associates, a young man who was organizing shelves, and he was quick to help us get what we needed from the back room. As it sometimes happens, after our visit, we had to return to exchange one of the items for a different size; again, not a problem. The associates were all very helpful in getting us what we needed. So, nice store, good location, excellent service, and good products at reasonable prices!
