I called on a Thursday and was able to get my dog in on Saturday for a bath and trim - which was awesome. When I arrived my dog, Mimi, and I were greeted by the front desk gal. She was super friendly, held Mimi and made her feel comfortable. My favorite thing was that they let Mimi play with other dogs during her stay. I was really satisfied with how Mimi looked when I picked her up. Mimi didn't want to leave! She was happy and active when I picked her up which was a great sign for me. BEST GROOMER EVER!!! The people who work here are the sweetest people. I'm usually very skeptical of who is grooming my dog but I 100% trust the employees at Alo's. When I brought my dog into them it had been about a year since he had been groomed last. Needless to say, it was LONG over due. They did a perfect job with his cut and listened to everything I had wanted done. On top of it all, my dog had the biggest smile on his face when I picked him up. Alo's Doghouse is hands down the best groomer I've been to in Gilbert. I have had my puppy for 2 years and gone to so many different groomers in the area, but was never satisfied (horrible cuts, hard to schedule appointments, rude staff, etc.) But once I found Alo's Doghouse, I have been going here ever since and have never looked back. Lisa, the owner, is so friendly, kind and helpful. You can tell that she genuinely has a passion for what she does. She knows both my dog's and my names and greats us as soon as we walk in the door. Her grooming skills are top notch. She listens to any suggestions or requirements I have for the cut and always incorporates them. Also, her prices are great! Alo's Doghouse is so adorable. The colors are bright and fun. The building is very clean and doesn't smell like poo or other nasty smells. I also appreciate that she doesn't cage the dogs, but rather let's them roam free in a contained area with other dogs. I called Alo's on short notice one day because I had been short on time and one of our dogs was way overdue for a grooming. Now I wouldn't want to ever go anywhere else. All three of my dogs love it here.. they actually enjoy going to the groomers. Everytime I pick them up they are happy, tails wagging.. have been playing with other dogs. It's like pet therapy :) One of my puppies was scared at first.. had never been to the groomers. Lisa the owner was wonderful with him. He comes in wagging his tail and playing now. I brought my 9 month old Giant Schnauzer to Alo's after another local groomer was unable to groom him because of how much energy he has. They were so helpful at Alo's. They recommended some calming treats and that I drop him off for a couple of hours to relax and get comfortable. They called me when he was ready and he looked great. We have a sweet little hyper Coton de Tulear and have used Johnnys Doghouse for grooming and boarding. Always have been happy with grooming and Gus loves the open, secure play area however we were a bit nervous boarding Gus at first but was so pleased to know that Johnny & staff take great care of all the furbabies for their overnight stays. Johnny himself or staff checks on the dogs, walks & plays with them several times after business hours up to 11 pm. Johnny also has cameras on the kennels and plays calm soothing music thru the night. Which has been great for Gus and reassuring for us while we are away! We love Johnnys Doghouse!! read more

They were extremely friendly, and spent time with our standard poodle while we were sill there, to make her feel comfortable. It's very evident that they really care about the pets that come to be cared for by them and you will feel comfortable leaving your pet there for their services. It was great that our dog was able to play and exercise while waiting for us to pick her up and wasn't stuck in a small room or cage. Alo's doghouse is the ONLY place that you need. Trust me on this. Give them one try, and you will never take your beloved pet anywhere else. If you want to know the details of my experiences with Alo's Doghouse, read the below story. My husband and I adopted a 4 year old dog at the end of August named Prince. We didn't know much about his history.. All we knew is that he had "issues" especially when it comes to strangers. He also has major separation anxiety from the one or two humans he lets himself trust. We had only had him for a few weeks and our annual 4th of July vacation was coming up. Prince still had not quite adjusted to our home in the few weeks since we got him, and we couldn't take him on the trip with us. We had NO idea what to do, or who to ask about watching him. We almost didn't go on our trip actually because we knew he wouldn't do well at a boarder, and even worse at a family member's house. But, my sister (who has one small male dog of her own) convinced me to let her watch him. Looking back, I know I shouldn't have left her with the responsibility. We dropped Prince off to her on Thursday night because we were planning to leave around 5am Friday morning. She called me late Friday morning when we were still driving to California... We hadn't even arrived at our destination yet. She was in a panic. Prince was extremely aggravated at her house... Barking and crying uncontrollably, not eating, and marking his territory all over her furniture and cabinets. To sum it up, she could NOT keep Prince during our vacation and we were going to be gone 4 more days.. Frantically, I called the place that I knew of and explained the situation. They did have a policy that they couldn't take any new dogs until they had done an "orientation day" at the place... But they told me they would make an exception for me. All I had to do was send my sister to drop Prince off with his papers. I was extremely grateful, sent the address to my sister and told her to take him over there. About an hour later, my sister called me frantically and said that Prince bit the caretaker at the boarding place and they refused to admit him. I asked my sister what happened and she said that the woman attempted to grab prince out of my sisters arms. I was surprised because I explained to the woman on the phone that he doesn't trust strangers. Anyway, we were SOL again and my sister was again stuck with Prince. At this point I we had reached our condo and I had to give the phone to my husband and let him take over the situation so I could go into the bedroom and attempt to not panic and ruin our vacation. Apparently my husband searched online for the closest pet boarding place to my sisters house and found Alo's doghouse. He called, explained the situation to Lisa, and she was so understanding and kind... She said she would take him and to bring him in any time, and that we could just pay when we got back into town. After hearing word from my sister that Prince had been dropped off successfully, and had not bitten anyone, my worry was completely alleviated and I was able to enjoy the remainder of my vacation (although I missed Prince!) When my husband and I picked Prince up a few days later, I was amazed at the facility. Walking into Alos, it smells so clean and is just such a cute and nice place. Lisa is so friendly and told me how much she enjoyed having him. She also told me that he was no problem at all and was a very nice boy. I picked him up, and he smelt so good! Lisa gave him a bath AND clipped his nails... I just couldn't believe the generosity and heart of this woman. Prince had a great time and was so exhausted when we brought him home. I know that he had done some hardcore playing with the little buddies who were also staying at Alo's. I started following Alo's on Facebook the next day, and to my delight, Lisa had posted a cute pic of Prince from his stay. ALSO- Lisa somehow got Prince to start eating hard food. It was a miracle!! I was spending a fortune on soft food since I adopted him because that is what the previous owners fed him and I couldn't get him to start eating hard food. All it took was Lisa having him for a few days and now he only eats hard food!! So thankful for Lisa! The second time I took him there for boarding I wasn't any less impressed. And this time, Price was very very sad to leave. He was crying in the car when we were driving away. He loves this place! Alo's Doghouse is $25 a night for smaller dogs... The other place that would not take him is $40 a night.. and that place smells horrible inside. so glad we found Alo's! read more

My Golden Retriever came out looking so incredibly handsome today! The staff was really friendly and engaging with my boy. He's had a couple of bad grooming experiences in the past, but he was relaxed and happy when I came to pick him up. Other groomers have cut his coat too short, to the point where he ended up looking more like a lab than a Golden. Not at Alo's! He looks absolutely fantastic! I have been searching for a good grooming place in Gilbert and I finally found the best place! Lisa and her family (the owners) are such great friendly people and I can honestly say I trust them with my little ones! I never feel bad for leaving them here because I know they really take good care of them and they are all really good to each single pet there. They also always ask to make sure what type of cut you want and it's always perfect every time! We received many compliments and I've been telling all my friends to take them here! What I really like about this place is obviously the customer service, the staff but also the fact that they let the little ones run around & play with other dogs (usually the smaller & behaved dogs). They are not locked up in their crate for hours like most pet groomers. They do ask for vaccination papers and the place is always clean so that is another big plus. They also provide boarding service for $20 per night per pet which isn't bad either. My dogs love it here and I love the staff here so I'm not going anywhere else!
