I've been going here for several years and have had good experiences. The new front desk girl is super friendly, acts like she is listening to you but then never passes the information on to the groomer. Friends have had same thing happen here. Groomers are great, but are kept in the dark on owners instructions. Extremely unhappy with my puppy's haircut. Brought him in early, showed her with my fingers how long to leave his hair, about 2 inches. Because he is so young, hadn't had rabies shot yet, she was told firmly that he may NOT be playing with other dogs. Second conversation with her about this and she said no problem, bring him in first thing! Pick him up and he was shaved all the way down like a poodle, and had been playing with other dogs. This is the same place as Alo's Doghouse, and as I have read, they claim to be new owners. They have the same negative reviews as previous owners, and the comments from Johnny are the same attitude as before. Even the new review comments from Johnny are offensive and negative. They do not give a bit of care when you are not satisfied. All they say is they wish you the best in the future, which means "DONT COME BACK, WE DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS". I wouldn't go to them if the service was FREE, AND/OR, IF THEY PAID ME TO GO. Don't fall for the BULL they are handing out. There are so many groomers around here that really care about the customer. These people are not them, no matter what name they change themselves to, they can't change their attitudes. read more

Johnny's Doghouse was a great grooming experience for my 9 month Goldendoodle. I sent a message through Yelp after hours and was shocked at the speedy response. Today I took my Pomeranian around 12:40 and the groomer didn't give me a time to pick up my dog, and that was my mistake for not asking, she just told me she was gonna call me 20 min before my dog was ready, I left the place, and I called like at 2:40 to ask how longer they would take with my dog, they said an hour so it was 4 no one called me, so I just showed to the place and I was there for like 30 mins waiting and they finally give me my dog, she told me my god wasn't cooperating or letting her do her job and she was like has she ever gotten a haircut before? And I said yes, and she is always good, anyways I paid $65 and honestly that's not even why i'm taking the time writing this review, the reasons are because after I picked up my dog she is being sad all freaking day and my Pomeranian is never like this after I take her to her regular place, she is a happy dog and I think you guys forced her or I don't know what the heck happed but she is really sad, and honestly I believe that you guys forced her or I don't know and I also would like to know why you guys took almost all day to get my dog ready?????? If my dog wasn't cooperating like she said I would've prefer you guys letting me know and just give her a bath over seeing my dog sad! but I feel like you're guys don't care and don't want to loose money, this was my second time at this place and I was gonna keep it in mind for next time, but screw that! Never again, it's not worth the time I waited, the money because the haircut wasn't nothing special to take all day, and to see my dog sad all freaking day, that's not worth it! You guys should communicate more with your costumers. We have used Alo's a couple of times for boarding and I always feel at ease leaving our previous dog Bella. She is shy at first, but after a little while, she seems comfortable there. By far one of the best pet grooming places we've taken our dog to. We have an Australian Cattle Dog, 5 years old, about 30 pounds. The woman who helped us had great service and was very friendly. She introduced us to something we've never been offered at any other grooming place, a "deshedding treatment." She explained that's better than doing a cut, especially for the type of breed our dog is. It will help keep her coat soft. We were impressed with the treatment, she didn't shed as much like before! This stuff works. They took about 2-3 hours to get her groomed. The space itself was very clean, roomy, and didn't have the loud blow dryers and such by the receptionist which is something that we'd experience before. They accept card & cash (another plus). They gave us a complimentary bandana for our dog. We paid $65 for a wash and the deshedding treatment. We will definitely be returning again! read more

This is an amended review of Alo's Doghouse. I have been a long time customer of Alo's and had given a 5-star review but feel the need to update due to our more recent experiences. I know that Alo's has new owners and that the previous owners left computer notes and printed pictures of my dogs ( a Shih Tzu and miniature schnauzer) to ensure a smooth transition and consistent outcome. So I am confused as to why my dogs have ended up with haircuts that varied from way too long to way too short. The dogs are normally groomed every 4 to 5 weeks but after today won't need a cut for 7 to 8 weeks. The last visit I asked them not to cut the Shih Tzus face as the previous cut was so short she was just starting to look normal. I gave them several chances but am frustrated with the inconsistency. read more

I chose Johnny's Doghouse based on the other reviews and was fairly pleased after initially calling to book. They were super friendly and knowledgeable on phone when booking and provided confirmation follow ups via email & text. Once leaving our two puppies (9 month old Golden Retriever & 10 month old Australian Shepherd) we knew they were In good hands. We received videos of them out playing during the day and if we had any questions, we would just call and always got response. Been looking for a groomer for over 2 years. Been in and out of shops and never fully satisfied. Until I found Johnny's Doghouse. From setting the appointment, to the end of the groom, it was a great experience. And they are THOROUGH. There's a liability waiver and they want vaccines - which tells me they number one care about my dog and number two care about the dogs that would be around mine. I just can't say nice enough things. Alo's was the first place I was able to request a quote and make an appointment through my yelp! app which I thought was pretty cool. They responded back to my request very quickly and got my dog booked in the following day. They did a great job on his cut but having made a 2:30 appointment he wasn't ready to go until 730 which I thought was pretty ridiculous besides the time it took his cut came out really good and he smelt great. Took my Australian shepherd Cruze here for a puppy cut for the summer and swimming. Pick him up and was very impressed with the quality of his cut. Our dog, Oakley, stayed a couple of nights at Johnny's and it went well. He seemed extremely happy and energetic. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because he was extremely sick the night he came home and I wasn't sure if it was because he was homesick or ate something wrong. Additionally, when trying to call to check on him, I was unable to get through which made me nervous. They sent photos of him to my mom who was my emergency contact but not to me directly. I can't say a negative thing about this place. Our pup needed to be boarded for the first time and I am so glad we found Alos. Our pup was here for 5 nights and I think it was harder on us then her. They sent us pics of her playing and gave updates when I nervously called to check in. They treated her and us like family and that made it so much easier to leave a part of us with them. They don't lock the dogs in cages all day nor do they charge extra to let them out to play and be loved (which a sad amount of other places shamelessly do).
