Lola is a regular there and goes a couple times a week just to socialize and work off some energy. I also have her groomed there and they do a great job. So my appointment got forgotten because I made it via email and the staff on duty didn't know I was coming which made me a little nervous at first. But they still honored my appointment time. I have a short haired dog, so the appointment itself didn't take long at all. All the dogs there looked happy as can be and when I picked up my dog she was in good spirits, happy, and smelled good and trimmed perfectly. Toenails cut to a great length, the only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the scheduling confusion. Overall I would recommend, but maybe schedule on the phone. read more

They will book an appointment and then they change the time on you or even the date without asking you first if the new time or date will work for you. I've decided today that sometimes companies make mistakes and other times they take advantage of the client and take the client for granted. I looked over at my dogs today and felt bad that the owner ever convinced me in a phone call to delete my post. I gave them another chance but it happened again. 1st time was last year the groomer burned my Maltese's testicles and the owner only offered a free groom; first of all it's not about the free service, second, I wanted empathy for what happened to my dog. The 2nd experience was a few months ago I took in my other dog and my dogs eye was poked and shut completely. They claimed "fur" got in his eye but he was like that for more than a week and it bothered me so much that the owner despite giving me a "free groom" due to my other dogs BAD EXPERIENCE he still charged me for that horrible hair cut and injury that they caused on my 2nd dog. This place always has different groomers, no wonder why. They take more than 4+ hours to tell you your dog is finished only to find out that when you get there they're still not done with them. It shouldn't take 4-5 hours to work on a small dog who is still during the process. I've noticed the owner always replies back to the negative comments in such a way that makes it seem like the client has had a "misunderstanding" and enough is enough I will not delete my review this time. I love my fur babies too much to have let this owner who lacks empathy to ask me to delete my post. I wonder how many times he's had to ask clients to delete bad reviews. I've gone to a new groomer which has stable staff, finishes in less than 2 hours and have empathy and I realized that there are places out here that truly focus on keeping it not crowded, don't hire just to have staff they hire ppl who genuinely know the art and skill to groom dogs and it has been a life changer for me and my dogs. I do not recommend this place take that extra drive and go somewhere else! read more

Terrible experience! Was recommended this company by a neighbor who has a small breed dog. I have two large dogs and take them to get groomed regularly and wanted to try a smaller business instead of a corporation. I reached out to the company to get a quote and was advised for my dog breed-size they charge between 120-150. I asked if it would be more than 150 or if that was the max expected, as I currently pay 120/each. They asked me to send pictures and dogs weight, I sent them both as requested and they advised me that they would honor the 120 each and we then scheduled. I drove 40 min away (which is not an easy thing with two large dogs) get to the facility and instantly greeted with a disgusted look the minute we walked through the door. The two men at the counter asked what we wanted done, we explained and showed a few pictures. The one man (I believe the groomer) looked at the front desk guy and was giving him a look, which I could see! I already knew at this point I should have already said Nevermind but we were already there, they said okay we will call you when ready. Left the facility and got a call 3 min later stating regardless what we were told they need to charge us more. I then just went with my gut feeling and picked our dogs up. It was very poor customer service. First being greeted the way we were, the looks, then not honoring what was stated previously, all was unacceptable! read more

Best experience ever! Both my groomer & front desk ladies were super helpful. They made my dog feel & I safe and comfortable with it being our first time. My doggy (molly) has anxiety when it comes to these things so i was very nervous at first but I have nothing but GREAT THINGS to say! Not to mention the cute necklace at the end. The staff at Johnnys Doghouse was so friendly and welcoming! I brought in my chihuahua who is not friendly and semi-aggressive towards strangers, yet she was welcomed in with open arms! The rates for bathing/nail clips/ear cleaning are very much affordable. My piper smelt so amazing and her teeth and breath are so much better. When I picked piper up she did not seem upset she genuinely seemed like she had a good time- especially for being a irritated dog. Just like many of you have mentioned, this is definitely not the same owners and the new owners make sure to make that clear. I've been back a few times after the new acquisition and today was by far the worst. I was given the 2pm appointment on 11/26. Arrived a few minutes ahead of time. Asked for longer hair as it is cold out and also showed a picture of a previous cut. I was told he was going to ask and even took a picture of my picture to show the groomers. Also asked for the teeth cleaning. Left but also mentioned to desk attendant that it smelled really horrid in there. Almost vomit like. I couldn't wait to leave. I should have taken my dog with me and followed my instincts. Picked her up at 545pm. It should never take this long to get a simple bath and cut. Because I clearly did not get what I had asked for. I payed, tipped 20% and left. But I will not be back simply because the new owners Do Not Care. They don't care about their building and image, they don't care about the services they provide and they clearly don't care about your dog! My doggy used to be happy to go in and now she shakes and has and attack every time. Will drive further out and will pay even more to never go here again. read more

Originally I had a good experience here with our other dog but we took our havanese here because he had knots in his hair and immediately when we picked him up I realized he was traumatized. I know sometimes working with dogs is hard but based on past reviews this seems like it isn't the first time this has happened. We came home and found him shivering and shaking and clearly he was in a lot of pain. We looked all around his body and found a razor burn bump mark that was very red in his backside area.
