We love Johnny's! They have the best donuts. My husband has been coming here since the 90's. We now live in Livermore but we still always get our donuts from Johnny's. Super delicious donuts! We've been coming here for a while after a recommendation from a family friend and this place is amazing. Everything is always fresh and so tasty. I love that they fill donuts on the spot with the real custard type cream. So good! They also make a perfect French crueller, which is so hard to find. And their apple fritters have that perfect crust around the edge but with a fresh, doughy inside. Everything we've had has been so yummy! Today was our daughter's birthday and instead of boring old cupcakes for preschool, we decided to get a couple dozen pink sprinkled donuts and they were a huge hit! The lovely owner was able to accommodate the order over the phone and our daughter was ecstatic! We definitely recommend Johnny's Donuts! read more

I used Yelp to find a doughnut shop that was open early and close to our hotel. This place opens early at 5 am. My mom and I went at 6 am. As we entered, there were a few people inside having coffee and doughnuts. We got a dozen doughnuts, 2 small coffees, a bottle water, and an apple juice for my daughter. These doughnuts are delicious and freshly made. We were greeted by the nice lady up front. Total came out to $22 for all that we got. We got mostly glazed, twists, chocolate and sprinkles. So good and delicious. Inside was cozy and there were tables all around. You can dine inside or take your doughnuts to go. I definitely would come back if we were near the area. I came here around 8 am and they had a pretty large selection of donuts still. I was craving a huge bear claw, and the bear claws here were definitely huge. They are twice the size of average bear claws. The bear claw was about the size of both of my hands combined, they had a blueberry filled one that sounded really yummy. Only $1.50 for a HUGE donut. The donut was fresh, and the blueberry jam inside it rounded out the pastry pretty well. It was pretty sweet, especially since the entire donut was glazed. Other donut shops come here to sweep the crumbs off the floor to make their donuts. Every person I know that's a donut "connoisseur" that's tried one of these always says "wow, these are really good". Load up a dozen and feed them to those you love. I did the Yelp thing and searched doughnuts. With that search it pointed me in the right direction and landed here. I got a mix of treats.... My favorite was the custard filled (they fill it for you on the spot), maple them the other one (sorry I forget). They have a wide variety of choices and they all looked damn good. You may ask why not 5 stars.....I gave 5 stars for a place called Voodoo in Denver. These are the best I've had in CA but not the best I've ever had. read more

My newly discovered favorite donut place per a friend's suggestion for the best "old fashioned" in the area. It did not disappoint with fresh baked aroma, distinctive shape, crunchy glaze, perfect texture, and a taste bud explosion culminating to a desire for more. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I've gotta say this is still my favorite donut shop. I moved to San Ramon in the early 90's and didn't even know what a donut was. My immigrant parents never deemed it necessary for me to be introduced to such an American delight. After discovering the Donut Hole it quickly became one of my favorite sweet treats. Fresh donuts, cheap coffee and a great place to read the paper and even get some Yelp time in on free wi-fi. Johnny's has been around since 1969 which means they've been baking fresh donuts daily for almost 40 years. WOW. read more

Excellent donuts. Very fresh (and this was at 10:30 in the morning), no stale oil flavor, soft. Even the cake donut (not my favorite but my daughter had to have the chocolate one with sprinkles) was better than average. Nice and fluffy rather than being a dense, greasy hockey puck. Cruller was good too and bigger than the ones you can get at Christie's (I like Christie's more though). Nice variety of donuts and pastries. The croissants looked really good. It is much bigger inside than you would expect before you walk in the door. Plenty of comfortable booths to sit at. Perfect for taking the kids and enjoying a donut there. Only downside: coffee was really weak. But I don't expect great coffee at a donut place. read more

First time ever trying this location last weekend and I definitely will be back for more. The owner is so nice and extremely generous which is why I don't mind driving further out to Dublin to get donuts. Great selection of donuts. My go to is the glaze and trust me, I've had some terrible tasting ones from other places. It's the perfect amount of sweetness. I've traveled to many states and even all over California and have yet to find a better donut shop. Try the maple bars, the frosting is unlike anything I've found elsewhere, it's creamy not dry and crusty like at most donut shops. read more

I stopped by recently to pick up a birthday treat for a friend, and a pistachio cannoli for me. They packaged everything separately in a cute bag. The pistachio cannoli was good but the pistachio filling tasted a bit artificial, not sure what they use, maybe a syrup. Their hours are great too. I believe I stopped by around 6PM and they still had plenty of desserts in the display case to pick from.

I recently visited Johnny's Donuts at 7355 Village Pkwy, and it didn't disappoint! I used to enjoy coming to Johnny's Donuts, but I think they must have changed owners recently. The quality has really gone down -- the donuts are just average now, nothing special.
