Based on another Yelp review, I decided to try this place for the blueberry cake donut, which is my all-time favorite flavor. I love this type of donut so much that when I travel I try to find a shop that sells it. I base my review from eating blueberry donuts at the popular SoCal donut shop "M&M Donuts ". Johnny ' s is busy. I found out why. . The donuts were delicious! ! The blueberry donuts were really good. I gave Johnny ' s four stars because the size of the blueberry donuts weren't consistent. The three I got ranged from 7 inches to 8 inches. At the price of over $1 each, I got a little disappointed when I looked in the bag. I have never set foot into this shop. However, my husband and daughter occasionally bring home donuts when they go out for breakfast on Sundays. I have tried enough of their donuts to write a review. We were passing through town on a Sunday and wanted to stop here, as this donut shop had received great reviews. Johnnie's Donuts is located in a older strip mall; when we pulled up to park, many others did the same. The place is popular! We went inside and was greeted by a nice young lady. It took us awhile to decide what to order, and she was patient with us. Always a plus. I told the kids "one donut only", and they were thrilled, as they proceeded to select the biggest cinnamon roll and chocolate bar I've ever seen, and then had the chocolate bar filled with custard-they do it on the spot to order. How cool is that? I selected the buttermilk bar and an apple fritter, my favorites, and they were perfect for the drive home. Johnnie's is a must the next time we are in the area. read more

Hot Diggety! I picked up a dozen and a half of donuts for a coworker who was leaving for a new job. Everyone at the office raved about how delicious they were. These remind me of true East Coast style donuts. Soft, a bit of chew to them and nice flavor. Maple Bars are delicious. At work my team rotates who brings donuts and today was my day! I decided to try this place because of the good reviews and I'm so glad I did!!! Everyone at work loved the donuts, they were super fluffy and soft and didn't feel super greasy. I have tried every donut shop in the Tri-Valley area, and Johnny's Donuts are hands down the BEST DONUTS ever!! I won't go anywhere else for my donuts. The chocolate bars are a generous size, I can only eat one per sitting! The donuts are fluffy and well balanced with the frosting or glaze. I also love the pumpkin cake doughnuts they offer (might be seasonal, but not positive about that). Seriously though, they have the MOST AMAZING doughnuts, grab a dozen!! Also, their Covid safety measures made me feel super comfortable, they help people one at a time and have you enter and exit through different doors. Seating: There is plenty of seating for you and your company to enjoy donuts and coffee!! Pricing: Fairly average for a donut shop. Their dozen donut holes is $2.20. Parking: Since the donut shop is located right in the middle of a plaza, there is no problem finding parking here. Overall: Johnny's Donuts is the best donut shop I've been to and I constantly come back here (at least twice a month). My sister asked me to take her here one time after she got off at Dublin High. This is a wonderful little place with friendly staff. They had some variety still left to choose from by the time we got there which was almost 3 in the evening. The guy behind the counter was being extra nice to us because I told him it was our very first time so he actually gave us extra chocolate donuts to try. Probably because they wanted us to come back often and try the other donuts they have. Absolutely delish!
