Bomb. Dot. Com. We love poke, but honestly it's so hard to find good poke around here. Nothing like…read morethe fresh stuff in Hawaii. But this place is very good! We had it Sunday at the farmers market and again Thursday at the farmers market; it was that good! It's simple, not overdone. Which is perfect. Fresh ahi, sesame, avocado, onion, sauce. Over rice, or your choice of base. It's a little pricey but it is 100% worth it. When comparing to other poke places around, it's a little higher but the quality smacks those in the face, so it makes sense. The fish is so fresh tasting, melts in your mouth. Highly, highly recommend. So nice to have a nice light, refreshing food truck option in lieu of all the fried stuff. Plus, the guy who runs the truck is so friendly. So nice. Reminds me so much of being in Hawaii and getting that ohana treatment. The truck looks clean and well taken care of which makes me feel good about the cleanliness standards he holds. You won't be disappointed; check it out!

You also have to pay more just to get rice with your fish (if ordering a "poke boat") which feels like a rip off in my opinion. Ahi tuna ($14 for 1/2 lb) itself is solid and good quality for what it is in this area. The sauce is described as a sesame soy sauce with spicy mayo. It's on the sweeter with some savoriness, light on the sesame, and not so much salty. I do like the flavors, but the poke isn't marinated long enough for them to seep through the whole fish chunks. Has a very slight kick from the chili flakes.

That said, their pulled pork was technical perfection. I had most of it down before I realized I hadn't sauced it! This place is run like real BBQ place. They were set up on the corner of 1st and Old 1st, in the little dirt lot by the mural that says "Welcome to Downtown LIVERMORE". I ordered a Tri Tip sandwich with grilled onions, peppers, and BBQ sauce, with sides of corn bread and baked beans. Total was $17.50, and I paid by Venmo. The people running the BBQ were kind and easygoing. I told them I'd be taking my food home in a backpack on my motorcycle, and they assured me it would be wrapped up tight and bagged for safety. After I got home, I opened up the bag and found a nice warm sandwich wrapped tightly, and my two sides packaged in little plastic containers. I was a little surprised when I noticed the corn bread and beans were cold, like they'd been refrigerated. When I opened up the lid on the corn bread, the nicely browned crust peeled right off with the plastic. I think they should probably wrap the corn bread in a little wax paper to prevent that from happening. After microwaving the corn bread and beans, I got down to eating my lunch. The sandwich came in a nice thick roll, which I liked. It was a little crunchy, so I think it was toasted. I thought the Tri Tip was decent. The meat was nice and tender, with a slightly smoky flavor. The sandwich had a lot of veggies on it, but I found those to be a bit watery and not super flavorful. For grilled veggies, I would expect to see some charring and to get some of that smoky flavor, but these looked and tasted like they had been sauteed with no seasoning. I liked the BBQ sauce, and I would have liked a little more than I got. Probably best to get some extra sauce on the side. The corn bread was good, but really sweet. I think I'd prefer it with less sugar. The beans were delicious. Overall I'd say it the food was alright. Could be better in several areas, and I'm sure they will get better as they receive feedback from local diners. BBQ is certainly popular in this town, but you still have to mind the details. I definitely didn't regret my decision to get BBQ instead of my original plan. I got my lunch from a local street vendor out in the sun, rather than an air conditioned franchise restaurant, and for me, that's always a nice change of pace. I look forward to trying again.

They looked organized, but they had to go find my order and I had to show them my email receipts because they didn't have my order on file...took a little longer but that was fine. They also gave out flowers for Mother's Day which was super nice! When we arrived home I unpacked & cleaned everything, and noticed I didn't get a Chardonnay, so I emailed Cabana Dave's right away to check to see what to do. I followed up with another email on 5/13 with no response. UPDATE Dave called me back personally today-he explained that they've been swamped & he said sorry for not getting back to me sooner. He has the wine & I can pick it up tomorrow! I love that they are helping local businesses during this time, and really I'd give more stars if I could get someone to respond to my question. I'll defiantly order again, mistakes happen but it's great when they are fixed! Thanks Dave!

She laughed at and corrected me during our brief conversation, making me uncomfortable and quick to move on to another caterer. I am sure she had no ill intentions but as someone who has worked in customer service for seven years this was an unacceptable way to be treated. It came across as rude and thoughtless. I am giving this two stars instead of one because I hate to poorly effect this catering company's ratings because of a phone call, but I was very put off by this interaction.

The ambience always is great, good music, good crowds, always something to watch for those who just want to kick it and have a drink. The reason for the three star review is that I cant help but notice that the quality and portioning of food has diminished from prior experiences i had here in the past years. To make it worse, prices have only gone up due to inflation. We had the rednexican nachos, burnt ends, sliced brisket ends and fried oreos. The nachos and the fried oreos were great as usual, but the entrees, not so much. The temps were off and the taste was not there, it has not been for the past two visits for us. Not sure if it's the product itself or the preparation of it, but it's just not the same quality i was used to. It's still a good spot to visit, but I wouldn't recommend it as a go to BBQ spot in the Livermore area.

I really wanted this to hit, but this paella is all surface and no soul…read more The rice tastes like it was cooked in a basic seafood broth and that's pretty much where the flavor journey ends. No depth, no layers, no real saffron punch. Just yellow rice doing the bare minimum. The bigger issue is how it's assembled. You can tell nothing is cooked together. The rice goes in first, then they literally count out the seafood and place it on top so it looks loaded. Shrimp, mussels, clams all just sitting there instead of being worked through the dish. Because of that, the seafood tastes like it was boiled separately in broth with no sear, no color, no character. Paella should be cohesive. This feels more like a rice bowl with seafood garnish. It looks good in photos, but once you dig in, it's very one note and very mid. For twenty bucks, I expected more technique and more flavor. This is basic street food execution dressed up to look generous. If you're craving real paella depth, this isn't it.

The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced--truly one of the best paellas I've had. Oscar, the owner, was there in person and couldn't have been friendlier. You can tell he takes real pride in his food and in connecting with customers. The freshness and quality really stand out, and it's such a treat to have this level of flavor at a local market. Highly recommend stopping by if you want fantastic food and genuinely warm service. A definite must‑try.
