I heard the buzz that Gregory's was opening in San Ramon and have been watching as the store began to take shape. I went in for the soft opening on Tuesday, July 20th and purchased 3 desserts that I will definitely go back for: the Apple strudel Cheesecake, Lemon Bar, and Chocolate Chip cookies with walnuts. I actually purchased the lemon bar for my husband but he ate and thoroughly enjoyed the cheesecake instead! There was a chocolate layer cake in the case that I also had my eye on; but decided I'd try it this week. The customer service is great! Welcome to San Ramon Gregory & Team. Regretfully disappointed! I was so excited to finally try Gregory's Desserts since I have not yet been able to make it to the Oakland location. Unfortunately, I was left underwhelmed. The coconut cream pie was definitely our favorite. The crust was great and the coconut cream and whipped cream were not too sweet, it was a light and delightful dessert! The red velvet on the other hand was not great. The cake was extremely dry and dense and the whole thing just lacked flavor. The peach cobbler cheesecake was okay. The peaches were fresh and juicy but the cheesecake was nothing special. Lastly, the peach cobbler banana pudding which was honestly, inedible. The texture of it all gave goopey glue. The flavor solely comes from the peach cobbler because I would not have known that it was even banana pudding. Service is alright and prices are not suprising for the area. Is it expensive for the portions? Definitely. Is it worth it? That's up to you to decide, but for me it has to be a no. I did however try to give them a second chance, as I went back to get a slice of Apple streusel cheesecake. The slice came out of the freezer and we had to let it thaw for almost an hour before it was "edible" but was still semi-frozen... that solidified I will not be back for a while. Wow an amazing dessert spot! We tried their key lime pie and the banana cheesecake which was recommended by the worker. The service was quick and speedy as they had slices in the fridge. I will say the banana cheesecake was on the sweeter end for me. The key lime pie was great too but the cream on top was too much for me so we scrapped 3/4 of it and the tartness really came through. I'm excited to try their other flavors and the expresso cookie next time! read more

Let's start off by saying that this place has the absolute best cheesecake I've ever had. We tried the apple crumble and the ube cheesecakes and they were amazing. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the products and answered any questions that we had. The store was in its soft opening so they are still working on the inside but it was clean and well laid out inside. Will definitely be returning soon and trying different things. I visited Gregory's before my 9 am dentist appointment on opening day. Due to the limited offerings so early in the morning, I decided to take a brownie ($7) to go for later. Wow, this was the best brownie I have ever had, it was rich and had a hint of coffee flavor. My brother is an Oakland police officer and has enjoyed many items from the original location. I had seen this place recently opened, and I wanted to check it out. Much closer to my work and I decided to check it out before work. I had went on a non soft opening day, That meant it was not open but only open Weds; and Saturday 10-6pm. I guess it was until they were fully had staffed up. I did however go the next day and they were open and had lots of options. From Cookies/ Cream pies, and other goodies. I had bought an Ube Pie slice and a slice of Coconut cream pie. I did not eat it until the next day, but it so delicious and rich. Not too sweet but the crust on the Cream pie had a nice graham cracker crust shell. People who worked there were super friendly and helpful. Waiting to go back another time to try more of their varieties of pies and desserts. read more

I remember hearing the buzz that Gregory's was opening in San Ramon but didn't know when. It wasn't until I saw it on one of the local community sites that I follow that it opened this week. I was renting a car at Enterprise and it was an excuse to check it out (LOL). It is located next to Emerald (locals know this as the former Sh'Boom). It's a small walk in with two display cases. - No seating available - cheesecake is their specialty - There are pies, cakes and cookies available! - Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended the ugly duckling (lemon cheesecake) and I convinced myself we need the blueberry crumble cheesecake and the dark chocolate espresso cookie (for the road tomorrow). Parking lot is undergoing construction but there is a parking garage. Lot of tight spaces and blind spots in the lot. Definitely worth checking out before they close at 6pm! read more

I don't know why but finding this place was difficult with the address. But best way to describe where it's located it's literally above the garage. The parking lot is have some work done but once it's all done I am sure it will be easier to park. The workers are super friendly and are really accommodating. Shout out to my chiropractor office for mentioning Gregory's. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I tend to be a little picky when it comes to pastries and cookies. Wow and Wow! Stopped by today during their soft opening and picked up a few items. Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Pie, Jerk Chicken croissant and Banana Pudding. Dug into the cinnamon roll first - It's still warm and unbelievably soft and delicious. By far one of the best one I've ever had. The jerk chicken croissant is full of flavor and a great spice to it. Welcome to the neighborhood, Gregory's. Unfortunately, your prices are a little too high and desserts just didn't wow us enough to justify a trip back. First, it is still the soft opening, so offerings are limited, but they have another location in Oakland so the products I did buy are what you will likely get after the official opening. We bought a blackberry cobbler, slices of chocolate cream pie and peach cobbler cheesecake, and brownie. This all came to about $45. In this day and age, that isn't that shocking (sadly), but none of the items really met or exceeded expectations. I brought everything home for everyone to try (we had 5 adults in the household that day) and no one went back for another serving. My friend is a cheesecake lover (especially with fruit) and he said it was just meh. After I told him one slice was $12, meh changed to NO. The chocolate cream pie was really really sweet with (IMO) an overly thick crust. The blackberry cobbler also had an overly thick crust. I'd rather have more cobbler topping than a crust on a cobbler. One thing I was surprised by was that they sell croissants, but no plain/regular croissants. All are savory (pastrami, turkey and cheese, etc.) but the toppings are all mixed in. I wasn't about to spend another $12, especially because they didn't look that exciting on the rack. They had some lemon bars and cut up cookies to try. Unfortunately, once my friend who was with me tried them, she told me to stop ordering because she wasn't thrilled with any of what she was trying. I've been eagerly waiting for Gregory's to open, and I finally made it in today. So worth the wait. The staff was warm and welcoming and walked through all the different treats available. I tried the oatmeal raisin cookies, oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon roll, apple streusel cheesecake, and the peach cobbler. Every single one was incredible. Having this place just down the street is going to be dangerous for me. My favorite was hands down the peach cobbler. You could taste the fresh peaches in every bite, the crust was perfect, and the sweetness level was exactly right, not too much, not too little. Can't wait to go back and try more. read more

As I and a customer right after me had asked for the cinnamon rolls, the girl at the counter said that they were out of cinnamon rolls before 12pm. As a bakery well known for their cinnamon rolls, it's not a good start trying to enter into a tough business. Tous Le Jour, is half mile away and thriving. Soft opening currently. The staff were so nice and helpful! Gregory's had sooo many beautiful options to choose from. The cinnamon rolls looked seriously amazing. There are pies, cheesecakes, croissants, cookies, brownies, etc. They were sampling cookies and brownies when I stopped in, and, oh my, both were so delicious- but the brownies were over the top! So rich and decadent!! I took home an ube cheesecake slice, and it tastes as heavenly as it looks. Gregory's is in a little storefront with no tables and chairs, but parking is easy. I wish I took more pictures for you all, but just go! It's so worth a stop in for a yummy sweet treat in the Tri-Valley. After all the hoopla and write ups about the Trivalley Gregory's we decided to try them. What a let down. I had the yellow cake with chocolate frosting and hubs had a walnut chocolate brownie and shared it with me. The yellow cake was super sweet and otherwise had no flavor at all. Honestly it tasted no different than what you can buy at the supermarket across the street. The brownie was so overly sweet it hurt my teeth and it tasted burnt but not in a good way. I only had one bite and threw the rest away. It was that bad. If our experience is typical of what they bake they will not survive in the Tri-valley. There are much better bakeries around here. I am puzzled how a store can have such publicity and then the food is so disappointing. read more

Oh no! Great texture and balance of peaches to filling to crust but the peach cobbler was so sweet it was inedible! Could not swallow more than a single bite! And the in-store sample of coffee cake (handed to me on a fork, no napkin, no trash bin in sight) was extremely dry, as if the cake had been sitting in the case for days.
