My sisters and I decided to stop by for breakfast since we live close by and thought the breakfast menu looked like a really good deal. When we walked in, we weren't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or just sit wherever, so we stood there for a bit waiting for someone to acknowledge us. A few staff members looked right at us, but no one said anything, and we felt really uncomfortable and awkward. Eventually, one of the servers turned around (there were several servers just standing and talking in a circle by the way) and said, "Sit anywhere," but it came across as pretty rude. Since it was our first time there, we had no way of knowing that it was self-seating. A simple "Hi! You can sit anywhere" would've made a big difference. We ended up leaving because the whole interaction just didn't feel very welcoming, especially on a holiday when we were just trying to enjoy breakfast together. I would consider this an outdoor dive bar. The indoor area really is just to cover patio. It's full open air there isn't enclosed kitchen area for staff. The bar is pretty big with good service. They're waitresses running around everywhere. It seems like a sit anywhere type of situation. I got a breakfast hangover burger which is served on a French toast bun. Came here with some friends to watch a friend play a set. The parking can get full and it definitely was when we got there so I was glad we carpooled as we parked in the only spot we could find. This place is a seat yourself wherever you find a place and the server will come to you. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. We initially sat outside because the weather was nice, but it seemed like the servers didn't really venture to frequently out that way so when a table opened up inside, we moved and the service was instant and much better. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrapped with grilled chicken, pretzel bites and curly fries. The curly fries were good. Although my friend said she wished they were more curly so there's that. I split the buffalo chicken wrap with her and it was fantastic. We did ask for mild and fair warning it was a bit spicier than we anticipated but still very good! The pretzel bites with the beer cheese were also excellent. Drinks wise it's what you would expect for a bar. I ordered a Paloma and it was pretty good. Entertainment was great. Lunch time today was at Johnny's, it was early before 12pm so seating was not an issue. Server came right away and took our orders. I ordered the Chilli hot Dogs basket, 2 hot dogs with curly fries. The hot dog was good, chilly was good, I don't have anything that really stood out about it. Also ordered the Barbecue wings, they were not crispy enough for me and the barbecue tasted like just a regular sauce, lacked flavor, I didn't like them. Johnny's Other Side has a fantastic vibe and seriously delicious food. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. My party and I happened to go during a time when they were offering half-off menu prices, which made the experience even better and let us try more dishes without breaking the bank. That said, there were a couple of things that took away from an otherwise great visit. When we walked in with water bottles, someone at the entrance rudely told us there was no outside food or drinks allowed. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude bc this could have communicated more nicely to us. While we were there, we noticed several other people walk in who also didn't see the sign, which suggests it probably needs to be relocated or redesigned so it's more visible. They also lose another star because the food took longer than expected to come out. Overall though, the quality of the food and the atmosphere are excellent, and with a couple small improvements to service and signage, this place could easily be a top-tier spot. read more

We came here after a good experience by someone in our party and we were looking forward to it. If you come during brunch, you are only able to order from that menu. Also, it is first come seating, so you just sit where you find a table. It was busy when we got there and it took a very long time for us to get our server to stop by. All other servers ignored us and didn't acknowledge us to tell us if we needed anything. We finally ordered some drinks and placed our order. We got the deviled eggs (a bit hard), a pancake, chopped cobb salad, Johnny's breakfast sandwich (it was good) and wings (they were on the dry side). Wanting a good burger and not wanting fast food, I decided to stop in at Johnny's Other Side this afternoon for lunch. This place is always packed in the evening and on weekends, so a last day of winter on a sunny Wednesday afternoon was perfect for sitting outside. I ordered the cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle with a side of curly fries and washed it down with a pint of Guinness stout. When the bartender asked me what I wanted on tap, I told her that I did not go out on Saint Patrick's Day, so I may as well make up for it with a Guinness. I do not stop in here often. But when I do, the food and service is always great. And like I said, Johnny's is always busy in the evening and weekends. Especially during football season. I've been to Johnnys fillin Station and Other side many times, but never for brunch. I was AMAZED!....everything on the brunch menu is 50% off on Saturday from 8-11am. Maybe 9:00. Not exactly sure what time they start. That half off includes liquor! They offer pour your own Mimosas. You can buy the bottle for 1/2 off of the $18 it normally cost for $9!!....i made a pig of my self and ordered 2 complete brunch entrees and finished both. I had a bacon and cheese omelette with crispy potatoes. Fantastic. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy. While I've had much better sausage gravy, the bacon is thick and not overcooked. It also came with 2 eggs cooked perfectly over medium and those delicious crispy potatoes. It was very busy but our server was outstanding. Big smile and happy to be there. If you've never been to the Other Side, it's kind of outside so if the weather is nice it's perfect. I was reluctant to spread the word because this is the best deal in Orlando for brunch on Saturday and I don't want to have to wait for a table. It had been years since I had been to Johnny's Other Side. We decided to go one Sunday to watch the football games. Overall, a great place to watch Sunday football, as they have the NFL ticket. Kid friendly too, however, since it is "outside" so smoking is allowed. Food - not many items on their menu. However, on the weekends they do have a brunch menu too. Brunch is served from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Food was decent and came out quickly. I had the turkey Rueben. Drinks - they have drink specials on the weekends aka "liquid brunch." Plenty of beer choices to choose from and a huge selection of bourbon if that is your thing. They also have the Heineken 00 which is a huge hit for me while being pregnant. Last few times we've been there the service was awful. Short brunette lacks personality and is always a little snippy. The one with drawn on eyebrows acts like she's better than the women at the table, but is playful with the men. The music is so loud you can't even have a conversation. Not sure what's going on with the "reserved" tables these days, but my husband and son went there last week for dinner and sat at a table that was NOT marked reserved, and the little brunette came up and rudely told them it was reserved, even though not marked. Didn't bother to help them find a non-reserved table, just walked off. You want good service after working all day. This is definitely not happening here these days. read more

I have to say, I was very sad when they changed their pet policy to no longer allow dogs on the weekends. Always get the ranch here, it's great. I love this place!!! The outside seating is wonderful and it's mostly covered. There fans and misters too. The food is just regular sports bar bites. The turkey sandwich was pretty good, but definitely could make the same one at home, it's just nice having someone else make it for you. The mac & cheese bites were also delicious. I believe they are made from scratch, but I'm not positive. We have gone for brunch and I got the corn beef hash and it was delicious. I think about it all the time. I went once a long time ago but since coming here Recently during football season, I have taken my parents here twice and it will not be a place I take anyone coming out of town to. I like that it's in a unique area, nestled just outside the SODO area. It isn't smack dab in the middle of downtown so it's a little easier to get to. I love the fact that it is an indoor/ outdoor venue. The area is somewhat covered but if it rains hard, you're getting wet! They have a good happy hour that differs each day. My parents and I tried a pulled pork sandwich which was very good. They have live entertainment and last time we were here they had a really good acoustic player. So we watched golf highlights while watching live music. It was great. I'm looking forward to seeing other bands play here. I will say, I wish their bar was bigger. For me, who doesn't have a. Big family and lives life at the bar instead of taking up a table, they have a very small bar in the front that is always without a doubt packed to the brim. What an absolute STEAL I got this meal for - you can't beat it! We went early and beat any crowds. The iced coffee was great with the perfect amount of sweetness, and the crispy potatoes were perfectly crisp and a unique take on breakfast potatoes. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich as well! I will say, if you're in a hurry - this might not be your spot. My family had lunch at Johnny's Other Side today. Our server was very pleasant throughout the meal. She was very attentive to our twin four year old grand daughters and was very patient with them as they gave her their orders. The food tasted excellent. Portion sizes and prices are excellent. At lunch today, my grand daughters gifted me some cards with the twins' and their older sister's handprints pressed onto the papers. My daughter also gave me a bag with a few birthday presents. With the hustle and bustle of last minute good byes, I left the bag with the girls' handprints and gifts at Johnny's Other Side. I didn't discover that I left the bag behind until we were back in Palm Beach County. Immediately I called the restaurant. Yes, the bag was still there. I told the lady who answered the phone that I was in Palm Beach County. She asked me if someone local (to Orlando) could pick it up for me. Right away, I called my son who picked the bag up in about 30 minutes! I can't say thanks enough to the server(s) who turned in and held the bag at the restaurant. This was my 2nd time here I was in town for work and I enjoy their wings. The ambiance is a cool dive bar feel with nicknacks and things hanging from the ceiling. I came to Johnny's Other Side today to celebrate my daughter's birthday, expecting the same positive service I'd had before. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. When my husband first arrived, he was told we could push two tables together for our large party. But shortly after, a younger server came over and said she didn't know why we were given that option because she still had tabs open at one of the tables. I explained we weren't expecting our guests for another 30 minutes, but she dismissed that and suggested we sit outside instead, adding, "It's hot right now, but when the sun goes down it will be nice." I never agreed to move outside, but I didn't mind the idea because it would have given my son space to run around. Still, the server insisted there was a working TV out there so my husband could watch the Cowboys game. Once we checked, another waiter told us--rather condescendingly--that the TV was not working and added, "Maybe she didn't know." The entire interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. What should have been a fun birthday dinner turned into one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences I've ever had. Sometimes I hate posting about places I love. The selfish part of me wants to keep it to myself! Johnny's Other Side, is a phenomenal bar and bistro. The outdoor venue with open seating and an unshaded grassy patio is the perfect spot for a casual dining experience. There are plenty of televisions and 9/10 live music is being played. I've now visited a few times for the Saturday brunch and I want to cancel all my weekend plans just so I'm able to go weekly. The food is amazing, the staff like Ava and the bartender whose name I can't recall are sweet and helpful. I'm almost positive the Chef Felix who we had the pleasure of meeting, is the reason for the perfectly flavored food. Every item is cooked to order, so be patient and kind to the staff. Stopped in here with a friend to grab some food. Place wasn't too busy, but we also arrived around 9pm. Bartender was friendly, and came immediately over to greet us. Got us our order of drinks and we asked if the kitchen was still open. She said yes. While we were looking at the menu, someone came over to tell her kitchen was about to close. So we were rushed a little bit to order. Food came out ridiculously fast - but it was good. Tater tots were crispy, and his burger was hot and fresh. My wrap was good, just was dripping with whatever sauce comes on it, I think maybe ranch? Next time I'll order it on the side. We ate our food, and bartender came over a few more times to see if we "needed anything else". I think they were just ready to close and get out of there. Their menus are great (I've been here for weekend brunch as well as lunch and dinner), and feature the usual bar fare. If you're looking for a recommendation on their brunch menu, the shrimp and grits are full of flavor (with an amazing sauce) and the espresso martini is an absolute indulgence. This place blew me away. We arrived at about 6:45 on a Saturday night and the band was setting up to play. We grabbed two of the last seats. The atmosphere is casual and fun. Lots of big parties enjoying the food and drinks. Ava our server was great. She was very attentive and friendly. The drink list was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. We wouldn't usually feel good about ordering seafood at a spots bar but as we saw the trays of food pass by - everything looked fresh and appealing. Ava told us the fish of the day was Red Fish and said it was her favorite. We took her advice and ordered the blackened Red Fish in creole sauce with peppers and onions. Oh my!! It was delicious. I felt like I was in New Orleans. Great portion and very fresh. I opted for the mashed potatoes and they were fantastic. What a fun evening. Great food, service and live music.
