This place blew me away. We arrived at about 6:45 on a Saturday night and the band was setting up to play. We grabbed two of the last seats. The atmosphere is casual and fun. Lots of big parties enjoying the food and drinks. Ava our server was great. She was very attentive and friendly. The drink list was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. We wouldn't usually feel good about ordering seafood at a spots bar but as we saw the trays of food pass by - everything looked fresh and appealing. Ava told us the fish of the day was Red Fish and said it was her favorite. We took her advice and ordered the blackened Red Fish in creole sauce with peppers and onions. Oh my!! It was delicious. An offshoot of Johnny's Fillin' Station next door, successful in it's own way with its outside-ish venue, live entertainment, and so far as I can say one of the last few spaces, places you can have a few beers on the way home from work and not kill a day's pay. We love coming to Johnny's Other Side restaurant, especially on nice weather nights! The drink specials are outstanding! All day everyday they have specials on draft beers, including craft beers and bucket specials on craft cans. The selection is very large of beers and they have one of our favorites, the Cigar City Florida Cracker! The menu is pretty large and they have a lot of options. I got the jacked-up turkey wrap tonight and loved the chipotle ranch on it but wish there was a little less tomato. There are a ton of TVs and can't wait to come back on Sunday to enjoy the drinks and watch the NFL games happening that day. I definitely recommend coming here for a fun night out with live music. If I could go no stars I would. I have an ADA service dog (ADA, not ESA!! ADA is protected access by federal law). Since arriving they treated us poorly and after we had been seated for awhile they said I was not allowed to have my service dog with me on the wooden patio deck. I explained he was an ADA service dog and not an ESA or a commonplace pet, but they continued to double down and eventually stated (after being told I would happily take this issue escalated to the DOJ as is required for denial of access) and then said I could continue to have him there with me "just this time". I would've left but I was there for my little sisters birthday and did not want to ruin her birthday dinner. My service dog is a medical device and was completely well behaved, quiet, and not a distraction. I have him due to a combat injury I received in the line of duty and am appalled by how he was treated and how we were all treated at the restaurant. read more

My nephew and I went to dinner at Johnny's Other Side on Sunday, December 15th. We sat at the bar and ordered our food. After a short period of time, my nephew's order arrived, and I waited and waited and waited for mine to come. Coincidentally, Kevin, the shift manager on duty, came around and asked " if everyone was good on food". I told him twice that I was not good. He either didn't hear me, or ignored me, then walked away. I followed him to tell him what happened, and I asked him why he would ask us a question, only to not listen to our response, then walk away. Kevin was completely dismissive of my issue, then proceeded to turn it around on me because of the way I reacted to him. I went back to my seat, then Kevin approached me to give me his version of the situation. He either could not, or refused to, understand why I was upset (I still had no food, and he was still dismissive). This only made me angrier. Ultimately, he refused to even get my dinner. No food for me! All of this could have been avoided, if Kevin apologized for the restaurants mistake, and checked to see why the kitchen never received or made my order. The next day, after speaking with Andy, the general manager, he ultimately blamed me for my angry reaction to Kevin for dismissing me. Of course, Kevin had a completely different story from the previous night. These people need to take a course in customer service 101, because they clearly need some guidance. Awesome place! Visited for a little event and was blown away by how wonderful the service was. There were two girls, one's name was Sage, and I forgot the other one. They were prompt and very attentive to everyone at the event. I took one star off bc some of the plates were dirty, but they quickly replaced with clean ones. The food was delicious, the chicken tenders were awesome and they gave a lot of different sauces for you to use. The veggie quesadillas were phenomenal! It's very difficult to have a delicious vegetable quesadilla but you really didn't even miss the meat! They had great turkey wraps and pretzel bites were delicious too. The tables were clean and you can tell that they were turning out everyone's food very quickly. This is a drinking and finger food review as we didn't order any food off the menu. We were there for a celebration with a fairly large group. They had some food out for everyone (chips and salsa, fries, tater tots) which was nice to munch on while we drank. The drinks were all handled individually so credit cards were flying as people opened tabs. The wait staff was hustling and I don't know they kept track of which drink went on which tab. Jocelyn was awesome and checked on us many times throughout the night. As soon as a glass was empty (or almost empty), she was asking if we needed anything else. The place was busy, there was a live band just starting as we were leaving, and the drinks are cheap, which is refreshing. It seems everywhere I go, drinks are over the $10 mark. Not at Johnny's. 20 Oz drafts starting at $3, Mules for $6, and a huge assortment of bourbons and tequilas (some of which could get pricey, but not as crazy as some places). It was a beautiful evening and the outdoor atmosphere (covered) was pleasant. Parking can be challenging (we were lucky) and if your a non-smoker, the people smoking "outside" the wall-free area can still have you smelling like an ashtray when you leave. Everything about the food was marvelous. Only issue was they had a slight bee problem. We went near sunset and for whatever reason there were multiple bees hovering around the table and landing on our food. Mentioned to the waitress and she said they were working on getting it solved. The bees went away at nightfall. Other than the bees it was a great experience. The restaurant is open air so it's automatically COVID friendly. It was a little crowded when we got there but our table was spaced out and away from anyone. Staff was wearing masks. I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. The looks and taste of it blew me away. Didnt really fit the vibe of the place, which was more of a bar feel, but was still a great meal nonetheless. Pretty much, outdoor seating because it's an open dining atmosphere. I can count 13 TVs from my seat. Most seating is covered, but there is an area open to the sun. Started off with a few drinks. They have a number of specialty drinks. From a Spiked Mimosa to a Manhattan. The list of bourbons, rye, and whiskeys will make sure you get your flavor. Fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. I ordered the Turbacon with tater tots and Shannon ordered Pulled chicken sandwich. Two excellent choices. Turbacon was on the order of a club, but way better. The pulled chicken was awesome too. Big Fail at Johnnies today for brunch. Waited 30 minutes for some one to even bring a menu. Several tables around us were waited on after we sat down including the table next to us. The waitress who finally brought menus informed us she was not our waitress but did take a drink order. 30 minutes later our waiter came over and asked if "she" took our food order. We said no we were leaving. He just walked off no apology not offer to take an order even if we had wanted to order. The waitress who took our drink order was very sweet and apologized and explained they had servers call out. However, every table was being waited on around us. This place is an upscale dive! Is there such a place for an establishment like this? Probably, but far and few. Why do I say as much? Well, part of the dive is the look and the fact it's a Steelers Bar (Note: I'm from the PGH area and this place pulls characteristics like a typical PGH bar). Don't let that be a downer though as I like a dive as much as the next person. The reason why this place is a little bit upscale is due to the extensive menu of food and drinks that it has. Seriously, there is a ton of alcohol of all different tastes. As for the food, wow, from truffle to different cheeses, to different meats and sandwiches, this place has alot got it going on.
