Who serves an egg sandwich with just egg, tomato and mayo? John's does. I had to ask to add lettuce and cheese. Yes of course they charge extra. They will charge extra for anything they can. Yellow chilies most places give for free, they charge $0.50. We also ordered an egg breakfast burrito and guess what? No cheese yet they advertise on the menu it comes with cheese. Coffee is watered down too. I understand owning a business you need max profits but geez. On my way out some poor lady came in and asked if they would warm up her food in the microwave, they said sure it's $0.65. She was short 20 cents and they didnt budge. So sad. They burnt our fries, we had missing items and their California burgers are like happy meal dollar burgers. Uuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnreal! I promptly left and went down to Fresco and paid $25 bucks for the same order. No wonder this place was empty they are out pricing their customers. Picked up a John's Chorizo Breakfast Burrito this morning. Nearly $11.00 later I'm seriously regretting this choice. In the past I would give it a solid 5 stars. Today the 2 star review is generous. I go here about twice a month for breakfast and every other month for dinner. I order the egg and potato "no meat" breakfast burrito for $8.99. They were overcooking (overheating) the egg for a while making the egg have a green layer. It started to gross me out even though it is edible. I stoped going for a few months and returned about a month ago. The egg is no longer green so that is good. Today I ordered the "egg and potato breakfast burrito," that's what it says on the drive thru menu board. You have to tell them the "no meat burrito" otherwise they don't know what you are talking about. They charged me an extra $2 because it has egg. BTW this was not posted. The egg looked like it was scrambled for the first time. Perhaps from a carton which is fine with me. I opened the burrito and there was some meat in it. As a vegetarian I'm sure you can imagine that I was not pleased. Maybe I'll try again in a few months to see if it improves. I gave it 3 starts because it is good 60% of the time. Horrible decision The zucchini and mushrooms were burnt, the fish sandwich tasted funny, they forgot one of my water bottles , and didn't give me my BLT I asked for. They didn't include any napkins. I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this before but I try to sneak to this place when I have my nail appointment because it's not something I would eat every day but they also close at seven so sometimes it's hard for me to get there but I love their veggie burger because it's an original garden burger patty with everything on it it's not like one of those impossible burgers that's trying to taste like meat. I don't like impossible burgers like I do the garden burgers and since I quit eating McDonald's fries because they're so bad for you. I rarely eat fries at all but the fries here are so darn good. They are as addicting as McDonald's fries and taste way better!! I've gotten different sandwiches for my boyfriend, but he's not very picky. He eats one of them that has meat on it but let me tell you the menu here is humongous. You can go here every day for six months and never eat the same thing. I pulled out food and seen that all my fries were over cooked and I called to ask for them to remake my order and they said they would remake the fries only. I then proceeded to explain that I live 10 mins away and my burgers would be cold and soggy being that I drove home 10 mins than back to restaurant 10 mins and wait fir fries and back home 10 mins till I get home to eat and they would not remake my 2 burgers. So most of the negative reviews here are because they charge a credit card fee and not for the food. Why are you basing your reviews on $0.75??? I used to go to John's Burgers when I went to Bakersfield High School- they have since relocated but this new location is even better! My friend and I had the Cowboy Burger, grilled cheese, fries, and onion rings. Everything was great and just how I remember it. The things that stand out to me are that they use shredded lettuce on their burgers (great because it doesn't come out in one huge chunk) and the crinkle cut fries (the only place I've had crispy crinkle cut they are so good). The onion rings are huge and crispy. Grilled cheese was buttery and had perfectly melted American cheese. My friend loved the burger. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town! read more

I had the veggie burger combo ( which is a veggie patty). Combo came with fries and a drink. The fries were actually different from what I remember. Didn't care so much for their fries either. After hearing the total, I considered changing my order, but against my better judgement, I proceeded with the order. I told myself for that price, surely they would be big burritos that would justify the cost. Sadly, that was not the case. The F street location consistently has kind, cheerful workers and delicious food from an extensive menu. Today we had Melissa who was so efficient and friendly, even as she was doing double duty and training a new coworker. Tried breakfast a few days ago. Ordered French Toast, side of bacon and a glass of OJ. After going back and forth on my order a few times I thought we were all set. I had mentioned the bacon at least 3 times. When I got home, no bacon. The juice didn't have good flavor. The worst was the French toast. It tasted of bell pepper. If I didn't hate bell peppers, which I do, it still would have been pretty inedible. They must have cooked a Denver omelette right before my order and didn't clean the flat top. All in all it was a pretty bad experience. They get a second star because I still think it's a good burger and fries joint. Won't be going back for breakfast. read more
