This is a cute little place, very fast service. There was a steady flow of customers both eating in and taking out. Onion rings and fries were very good. I asked for extra cheese on my Original Cheesesteak and it seemed like just a regular amount of cheese. Maybe other places have been more cheesy. This place uses provolone, but I'm more of a Cheese Whiz girl. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it had cubed chicken, possibly from US Foods. The sauce and cheese were ok but not something he would order again. Overall, it was a nice lunch but we were happy we'd only ordered half sandwiches since we didn't neccessarily want leftovers to eat the next day.

Crazing their fresh tuna sandwich and it just felt like summer. Beautiful day, fresh tuna salad sandwich with amazing soft bread fresh lettuce & tomato. Chips and a drink rounded out lunch!

Quick and delicious cheese steak sandwich with lots of options. I'm not a cheese steak connoisseur so I can't really say if it's the best in town, but it hit the spot for me and just so happen to have the Eagles game on at the same time. Lots of interesting beverage options and small little dining area with outdoor dining as well. I'll definitely be back to try some other options. I got the half mushroom cheese steak sandwich and it was huge.

    Another happy meal at John's

I told you they are the best! Great value, happy people making the food. RIP Cosmic Subs

Steak or ground beef? It looks and feels like ground beef. I asked for extra half meat. Taste good. But I was expecting thinly sliced beef.

I must say i had many many good philly cheesesteaks but this place has made one of the best i ever had and i mean it! Get the the large, its soo much good stuff going on here. I ordered the number 4 "the works" and it was just fantastic, also got an order of onion rings which was good to and comes with ranch. They have a couple of TV's inside to watch games and they have a nice outside seating area. The bread was soft and plenty of meat inside with green peppers, mushrooms, onions and hot peppers, just incredible. The customer service was great and friendly. I got soda from the fountain machine which was flat and they corrected it right away changing what needed to be change to make it fresh tasting. John's is located behind the mc donalds so if you're coming down PCH its behind it. Definitely a place i will be back to try other items and you should to! You won't find a better philly cheesesteak!

This spot was BOMB. Came in with my husband and toddler for a spontaneous lunch date. Located in a low-key maze-like plaza, it wasn't too difficult to find and there was plenty of parking. We tried: The Godfather Sandwich - I decided to try this one and, guys, IT WAS SO GOOD. Hearty and spicy, loaded with meatballs, sliced hot Italian sausage, and a whole blanket cheese. The bread is amazing, soaking up all the greasy saucy goodness. The marinara sauce was thin and a perfect compliment to the savory and rich meats. South Philly - my husband ordered this one as he had never seen a cheese steak like this one, and I could tell he had his regrets. The steak was delicious (in fact, everything was) but the marinara sauce just didn't hit for this sandwich. He still ate the whole thing though. Grilled Cheese - an inverted roll stuffed with tons of cheese and toasted on the griddle. My toddler can be pretty picky even about things he loves, and he DEVOURED this. Half a sandwich was good for him. Fries - thick cut, salty, and piping hot. These fries were flawless. Fried Zucchini - little medallions of deliciousness. Super fresh and deceptively hot. Pretty sure I burnt my mouth on these, pretty sure I don't care. Their ranch was yummy too. Their half size is MASSIVE. The price point is excellent for the quality. Service was friendly and accomodating, and the space while dated was pretty well kept and clean. We will absolutely be back.

Yum! Great Philly steak made to order and the customer service is out of this world. If you have an event they also cater.

I could tell the gentleman was on the phone when I arrived, but he made it clear that my order was going to be priority. This goes a long way especially in today's society. They've got an enclosed patio that looks like it would be a dope lil spot to catch a game one day while eating. I needed to get some work done so I logged on and sent an email or two. I promise my food was ready before I could get to my 4th email. Hot, great tasting cheesesteak. I really want to know where the french bread came from. Man! Can't wait to go back

I wanted this to be good. I came in expecting a decent smash burger. First look had me fooled…read more Glossy bun. Sauce peeking out. Browned edges. It looked soft, rich and ready. For a second, I thought it was about to hit. Then I picked it up. I drove to a shaded spot nearby and ate it right away. No long ride home. No delay. Shaboozey's "Good News" on the radio. Burger in hand. Hope leaving the vehicle. The bun was dry, airy and barely warm, almost like a stale croissant. It looked glossy and soft at first, but had no structure and collapsed more with every bite. The closer I got to the center, the colder and stiffer it ate, like it never got properly warmed through. Glossy outside. Cold center. No chew. No bounce. Just bread giving up. For a smash burger, this missed the whole point. There were some browned edges at first glance, but the bite never backed it up. No hard sear. No crisp edge. No beefy crust. Dry patty. Weak seasoning. Odd flaky texture. The bun broke apart in layers, the beef broke with it and every bite got drier as it went. No juice. No snap. No beefy finish. Burger dressing. Mustard. Grilled onions. Pickles. Sharp, rich, sweet, tangy. That setup should wake up a burger. I gave the patty every chance to show up, but there wasn't enough crust, juice or beefy flavor underneath. Just sauce and toppings looking for something to do. Pickup was fine, got the food right away. No issue there. Maybe this was an off day, but I expected the basics: seasoning, structure and a burger that ate as good as it looked. It looked like a smash burger, but it didn't eat like one. First glance said yes. Every bite said no.

So we grabbed a couple of friends and went to Long Beach to check this place out! It is located on a side street but you can find parking in a small lot with the bar that this place is attached to. I'm assuming the bar orders from them to pass the food on to their patrons which is pretty cool imho. Anyways the inside itself is pretty tiny. I forgot to take a picture but it had LA Dodger colored sport figure heads painted on the wall. Pretty cool! (Even coming from an Angels fan) The prices itself are pretty pricey. I had to go for the Mike Tyson Burger. It was $18 for the burger and didn't include any drink or fries which kind of sucks honestly haha. I opted to pay for some fries and drink. Sadly, the soft drink machine is broken here and had to get a can soda. My food came out and please note that the fries come as a basket of fries only, so if you're eating solo and wanted some sides come hungry for sure haha. The burger itself looked really delicious! They had a special sauce on them and really thick patties but how did it taste? It was pretty good! The sauce served with it was delicious and paired well with the pastrami and the beef patties. The burger itself then became pretty messy but overall it was really good. The dudes at the front were really chill and even hooked us up with some ranch when they usually charge. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food. But was it "the best burger place ever" as my in law claims? No haha. Don't get me wrong it's a really good burger place but the price for my entire meal was around $35. Definitely got what I paid for but I think you can get a quality burger with fries and drink for a way cheaper price. And you know with a working soda machine. I would say get a burger fix here if you got the money for it. The Mike Tyson did definitely knock me out!
