As tables became available, they would call people inside. I ended up at a small table by the bar area. I ordered a small chicken and prosciutto pizza. It was excellent and perfectly cooked as promised. The flavor combination was great: prosciutto, chicken, spinach, ricotta, roasted peppers, sauce, and mozzarella. So big I couldn't finish it. (Hubby was happy because he got to try something too when I got back.) In terms of service, it's the north end so a little brusque, but you'll be happy you came.

We ordered a pizza by phone during the St. Anthony Feast, and the woman who took our order was curt and rude from the start -- I chalked it up to the festival rush. But it got worse when we picked up. We paid $32 for a pizza and asked if we could sit inside to eat it and there were plenty of available tables. We were told no -- inside is table service only, and takeout means you take it and eat elsewhere. Fine, except there was nowhere to sit outside at the festival. When we asked about using one of their own outdoor tables (they had roughly 30, and it was 11:15am, 45 minutes before the festival even started, so the tables were empty), we were told those were reserved for table-service customers only. This was after we'd already spent $32 in their restaurant. Regina's has been around for 100 years, but somewhere along the way they stopped caring about basic hospitality. Paying customers with nowhere to eat their food shouldn't be treated as an inconvenience. We won't be back.

For the food - mine was outstanding! I tried a homemade pasta with a blush sauce and it was fantastic. The pasta was fresh with the perfect consistency, and the sauce was so rich and well flavored. My husband, who is gluten intolerant, had gluten free pasta with broccolini and sausage. He said his meal was just ok. The gluten free pasta looked to be the same brand we buy at home, and the flavor of the sauce was average. Overall, it was a fun night out, but I think we would probably opt to try a different North End restaurant next time.

Always delicious and consistent! My favorites include eggplant pizza, chicken parm sub, and steak and cheese bomb. The eggplant pizza is the best I've ever tasted. The eggplant is wonderfully seasoned with a light breading...a perfect match for the thin crust pizza and tangy sauce. The chicken parm is deliciously gooey and saucy. The chicken is clearly made by hand...pounded out and coated with a nice seasoned breadcrumb. The combination of chicken, sauce, and cheese is perfectly balanced. The steak and cheese bomb is exactly what it's called..."the bomb"! The steak is tender (never had a stringy piece) and grilled with peppers, onions, mushrooms then topped with American cheese that oozes down over it. Sometimes I ask them to add a bit of pepperoni for an extra kick...amazing! This is a no frills kind of place. It's best for take-out or delivery since there aren't many tables. It's always busy, so I usually take mine home to relax. However, I have eaten inside several times for a quick lunch and I've always felt so welcome. As a child I always went to John's after school and got either a meatball sub or an eggplant parm or their steak and cheese YUM! They were delicious!!. After recently moving back to town as a grown woman and also meeting Michael I was treated to one of the best pizza's the Michael Special and also had my old time favorite the eggplant parm. They are by far the best pizza places in the area and I give them 5 stars. read more

I lived in Chelsea 21 years and Known John since he started on Central Ave. Id have to say that John's Pizza is the all time greatest in that area. I have four children and they have all grown up enjoying there food. Although i have moved from the area, when I'm down there visiting I make it a point to stop in say hello and enjoy the food. In all honesty, I normally wouldn't even care that much until the guy disrespected my wife and then kept calling me "Boss"... place is terrible.
