    Margherita Pizza

Found this place insanely quickly on yelp, first place to pop up. This place is amazing first of all. Small, but amazing selection of pizzas, soups, salads, etc. We got seated super quickly, within 30 seconds, hostess was so nice and eager to help us! And the vibe of this place is almost as better as their food! Nice, CLEAN bathroom, floors so clean you could eat off it. Overall, beautiful little italian place, recomend 100%!

The street that Benevento's is on has tons of Italian competitors, the places we originally wanted to check out were all long waits, but this didn't have a wait so we gave it a shot. We just had a huge workout and were famished -- this place has large portions and was very satisfying to have. Very simple Italian dishes, we got the North Ender and Alfredo. On the pricier end (you're in North End though) but not the worst option there.

The food is always consistently delicious whether dine in or take out, and the service is wonderful. The bartenders are fun and friendly and accommodating.

Benevento's Original Brick Oven Kitchen & Bar is an Italian restaurant that opened in Boston, Massachusetts in June 2010. It was founded by restaurateur Joe Bono. He first opened the Italian restaurant Al Dente at 109 Salem Street in the North End (aka Boston's "Little Italy") in 1993. After several successful years, Bono decided to acquire the space next door which had been home to Trani Ice Cream for a number of years. He dubbed his new Italian restaurant venture "Benevento's". It was meant to be a more contemporary version of Al Dente where customers could have a more affordable take-out or sit-down option. In 2017, Bono opened BenCotto, a speciality pizzeria, at 361 Hanover Street. My family and I recently visited Benvento's for the first time. We were spending the day in Boston and found ourselves in the North End by the end of the day. We were getting pretty hungry for dinner and started looking for a place to grab some food. I'm an observant Italian Jew and Passover happened to be going on this week, so I looked on Yelp to see if there were any Italian restaurants that had gluten-free options (no easy feat). Benevento's came up highly recommended. The interior was kind of small but cozy and charming. Although I wasn't allowed to eat pizza this week, I certainly enjoyed smelling it cook in the brick oven. For food, I had the "Burrata Salad" (soft mozzarella, roasted peppers, and Prosciutto di Parma over a bed of arugula w/ EVOO drizzle), my wife had the "Grilled Chicken Salad" (fresh baby greens tossed in homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella and tomato topped with warm grilled chicken), our older son had "Kids Linguine with Marinara Sauce", and our younger son had "Kids Cheese Ravioli". I'm not going to lie, but salads would not have been our first choice if it wasn't Passover. That being said, the salads that my wife and I had were excellent! Our sons loved their pasta dishes too! Overall, we had a great time at Benevento's and my family and I would love to return to try their pizza or other Italian entrées.

Tried Benevento's pizza for lunch the other day and it was ok. It was kind of doughy and greasy and could have been crispier. The flavor was good. Haven't tried anything else on the menu so can't speak to the other food but wouldn't get the pizza. Staff was very nice

I was heading to Regina's for a pizza, but I Was remembering my last meal at Beneventos. So, rainy night ... Sat at bar. Ordered from the night specials ... same I had last time ... short rib pasta . Ordered a single meatball for appetizer and a must try with sauce, fresh bread for the sauce . Meatball excellent Short rib pasta was outstanding again. Grated parm added on top and excellent. Peroni beer and all good in my dining book.

Recently traveled to Boston to see family, and we went to Benevento's a small restaurant off of Salem street. Very cosy inside. We were greeted right away and they were very accommodating to the fact 4 of us were there and 4 would show up later. They gave us bread and butter to start. The baguette was not warm and we were given cold butter packed to spread. I would highly recommend warming the bread and flavoring the butter, or a simple olive oil that has been infused would have taken this a long way. The portions were quite big and the hubby and I shared the pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly aldente with a nice chew. The vodka sauce was good, but it could've used a bit of red pepper flakes to give it a bit of heat. If I'm back in Boston I would suggest this place, but there maybe others that are better.

Carbonara Pasta - with handmade fussili

Originally I wanted to go to Al Dente, but the wait was a hour and a half and the host mentioned that next-door they had the same exact menu. So I decided to try Benevento's. I ended up getting the same exact thing that I got from Al Dente a year ago which was the handmade Fussili Carbonara, but this time I didn't add sausage and I got a meatball on the side. The pasta was amazing! Loved the soft texture of the fussili. The carbonara sauce was really good as well - nice and creamy. The pancetta was somewhat chewy, but overall I really enjoyed the dish! The meatball dish was also amazing! The meatball itself wasn't overly seasoned but the sauce and the cheese really complemented the meatball well. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this tasted - it was a very simple dish that had amazing flavor! Washed it down with the Chianti and that made my night! So if you can't make it into Al Dente, go next-door to Benevento's!

The wait is long, but it is so worth it! I made a reservation for party of 7 here, and we still need to wait an hour for our table. However, the staffs are extremely nice and constantly asking us if we need anything once we are seated. I would highly recommend the chicken Parmesan here! The restaurant ambiance is upbeat, and always feels busy. This spot would be nice for big group of party to gather and hang out over drinks and good food

We were told 20 minutes to wait and the line did move as promised. Note that there were some locals in line with us. Regina's is not a tourist trap. We wanted to do a half and half pizza with pepperoni and chicken pesto, but were told you had to do a "build your own" for that. Two small pizzas were not too much higher in cost than a large. Prices are reasonable, we spent less than $50 for two small pizzas and two drinks. The pizzas were very good and the crust was excellent. Service was good. The place is small and I hear the Thacher location is better than the Fanueil Hall location. The menu has quite a few options, including a couple of vegetarian pizzas.

Even though I was born and raised in the Boston area and have resided here for the entirety of my three decade long life, I've never had the original Santarpio's pizza until just now. I remember eating at their second location on Route 1 not long after it opened, but I thought it was just okay. Ever since then I've always thought to myself, "the original has gotta be better, right?" Well, my boyfriend and I finally made our way to the original Santarpio's on a Saturday a little after noon. The place isn't much to look at but was hopping for the weekend lunch rush with almost every table full, and we got put in what appeared to be one of the last available tables in the place. Our order was taken very quickly after sitting down. The menu is strictly pizza with around a dozen toppings to choose from and a handful of grilled meats. That's it. We ordered a pizza with garlic and hot peppers as well as a steak tip skewer. The steak tips were juicy and cooked nicely, but they tasted like they lacked seasoning or marinade so I had to sprinkle some salt and pepper on them. Of course, the pizza is what we were really there for and I can tell you that it checks all the boxes for a classic pizza. The crust is on the thinner, crispier side which I actually prefer. The pie as a whole had a great color and good flavor between the cheese, sauce and toppings. After experiencing it for myself, it's pretty easy to understand why Santarpio's is so highly regarded in the world of pizza. They stick to what they know and they execute it well.

They only sell whole pies, which at first seemed annoying (the first time I tried coming here a few years ago I was by myself and couldn't eat a whole pizza alone) so I had to make this my inaugural tasting). But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.
