We've been coming here since moving to the area several years ago, based on neighbors' recommendations, and have never been disappointed. But you don't really get to know a place until there's a problem, and we finally did and they came through. The problem involved a new set of tires on our family wagon, which after being installed created a slight pull to one side. No problem correcting that-- they got a new set in immediately and swapped them. Except it came up again. So, Johnson's did a lot of alignment checking and tried everything (at no extra charge). We finally got to the bottom of it. They really do take care of you, and Jeff and his brother are great! A family business over 100 years old that's very highly recommended. read more

It's not even that big of a deal - but for me it's the principle behind it. Thy didn't even say anything to my wife and she noticed it right when she got home. This shop was recommended to me by a neighbor of mine who is a car guy and it looks like they have some great reviews so my poor review might be just a one off experience. My wife took her vehicle in for a problem which I thought was the left front strut. I didn't have the time to do the job myself and so I thought I'd pay the money to have a good shop take care of it. Both front struts would need to be replaced, so I figured it would probably cost between $800 - $1000 which I was willing to pay. My wife called me later that morning and told me they wanted $1800 to do the front struts and the rear shocks. The rear shocks were fine, so I asked her what they wanted for just the struts. She told me they wanted $1,500 and said it would be two weeks to get the parts! I told her to pick the car up. I expect to pay an inspection fee, but was blown away when they charged $130 just to take a look. I picked up OEM non-loaded struts for $150 each and replaced the struts myself that afternoon (2 hour job - which included loading the springs). Total cost $300 for the parts and $130 for Johnson's inspection ($430). They could have had my $$ if they'd have given a reasonable bid for the job. Car drives great and wife is happy. read more

It's unfortunate that Johnson Tire Pros ruined my experience with them. I had ordered tires online direct from Goodyear, had them shipped to Johnson Tire Pros for installation. I got confirmation back that the scheduled appointment was confirmed for tire installation. Great! Everything was set. Time came for my appointment, showed up on time, got the tires installed, was in and out within an hour and a half (kinda long for a scheduled appointment, right?), but whatever, they were busy so I understood. Got to driving home and noticed the handling on my car felt "floaty" and not very responsive at all. So I go online to Johnson's website to schedule a realignment. Now, I understand when switching to a new tire, especially a different brand, there's always a break in period, etc. but it really feels like it's more than that, so honestly I just wanted Johnson's to at least inspect the alignment and see if that was an issue at all, maybe go over each tire they installed and see if everything looked right. Anyways, back to booking my online appointment, Johnson's website was nice, looked clean, easy to follow and easy to setup an account there. Once the account was setup, I schedule a realignment. Website shows first available time was 8:00am, when they opened. I thought "Sweet! Just wanna get this done and have it out of the way". I get a notification saying if the retailer needed more information from me that they'll contact me. Understandable. So I schedule the appointment. This was all done around 7pm the night before, so the store was closed (their hours are 8am-6pm). I show up at 8am, the nice lady at the counter took my info, saw my scheduled appointment after getting my info from me, asked me for my keys, etc. I sit in the waiting area and not even 2 minutes later a guy comes to the lobby looking for someone with my last name. I thought, "Uh... that was fast" and I was right. He tells me that they need to confirm my appointment and that I can't just expect to make an appointment online and take it as being available. They couldn't take me in because of reasons. All I heard was excuse after excuse of why they couldn't get me in for an alignment. Dude tells me he can reference some places if I need him to, which I didn't. He references some places anyways, and THEN asks if I wanted to see if they had something available later that day, after he already refused service to me. I get my keys and he asks if "That all works out for you?"... WTF is that? Yeah, everything is going swimmingly, thanks... It's like everything online is so foreign to these folks. Nothing was nearly as smooth as it should have been. The only reason my tires were installed is because GOODYEAR booked it and told me I would need to wait for confirmation for the appointment of the tire installation. Nothing on Johnson's website made sure I knew I would need confirmation about an appointment set up directly with them. I figured confirmation for tire installation was because of a third party involvement (Goodyear). Who was going to confirm my appointment if Johnson's website is 24/7 and they're only going to check the online site during normal business hours? I mean, I can tolerate only so much when I'm the one going out of my way to give a business my support. As far as I can tell, the only thing I can expect Johnson Tire Pros to do is install tires at the behest of a vendor. I'm very disappointed in Johnson Tire Pros. I highly recommend going somewhere else. Any tire shop can install tires, nothing unique tbh. read more

I went down to Johnson's last week and had them switch out my winter tires and rims for the summer tires and rims on my Mazdaspeed3. They were very busy, so there was a bit of a wait, but I didn't mind too much because they have free WIFI and I had some work to do anyway. Turns out one of my TPMS sensors was bad, so they had to order one in, which took about 15 minutes to get there. They felt bad about the extra wait, so they only charged me the cost of the sensor plus a tire rotation fee - saved me about 50% off the price they quoted on the phone. I am very pleased with the staff and service. I'll be back to get another set of tires when I burn through these. They price match too. read more

I buy and sell used cop cars all the time and and Johnson does fleet servicing for the county Sheriff, the HP, and several local PD's. Last I checked, I have about a dozen vehicles on Johnson Tire's log books, plus many wheels and tires in storage. Needless-to-say, I use them all the time... sometimes I'm in there 3 to 4 days a week. They are not the cheapest in town, but you absolutely, positively know they won't cheat you and that the job will be done right, and if something doesn't hold up, they'll stand behind it. If they don't feel they can do the repair justice, they will recommend it out to a specialty shop... they've referred me out to three different specialists in the past and whoever they send you to, you can also trust implicitly. They are currently training the 5th generation of Johnsons in this family run business. You don't last that long in one small town without doing something right. read more

It is hard to find anyone in the auto repair world that you can trust. It is just too easy for them to make extra money by exaggeration, misrepresentation, or lying to people, especially the inexperienced. And since Utah forces the emission/safety inspection tax on all of us, this becomes another way for lowlifes to suck funds out of the general masses. Luckily I am not one of the clueless and I know when I am being worked. So I feel like I also know when I am being treated fairly by someone who knows their job and is doing a good job. I have had many cars inspected for many years at Johnson's in Springville and I have never once felt like I was being ripped off or pushed into something unfairly. Since I do most of my own work, they tell me any issues that come up and let me fix it, if I want. They don't push me to have them do it. They even offer advice, when I ask. When I choose to have them do the work, the prices are on average with the rest of the industry (I know....which still seems like a lot). This business is run by a family for generations and they are well known in the area. Although, I'm sure they are not a perfect business, and there will be some complaints, I don't think they would have lasted this long if they were shysters. They now offer the convenience of getting your stickers right there, so you don't have to wait for the State to mail them. This is nice when you wait until the last day to get your inspections done, like I do. They also have wifi, so I can read email or stay connected while I wait. The waiting room is in need of an overhaul, with new wall and floor finishes and seating to fix it's overall dingy feel. A new TV and some couches would help as well. All the interaction with the Staff have been very professional and friendly. read more

I called one day to ask about tires for my car. They said they had three kinds for my size and gave me prices. I went in three days later only to find out that none of the tires they quoted were in stock. So I ordered a pair. I called to find out a few days later if they had come in. I was put on hold for 15 minutes or more on three occasions within 1 hour before anyone picked up the phone. At first they could not find my tires. Finally, after a few minutes of looking around they found them. I then told them I would see them on Saturday to have them installed. They said "see you then". I showed up the very next Saturday and they were closed. My entire experience was bad. I want to support the home town guys, but Johnson's were unprofessional on so many fronts it is ridiculous. Went to Sam's club instead. Better service, better tires, better price. read more

WOW What a great family run business. Johnson Tire has taken care of me on many occasions now. I own some trailers and a couple cars and it seems like every few months I find myself in there getting a tire repaired/replaced if necessary. They are very honest and if the tire is still OK and can be patched they will do so. They also have a full setup to do just about anything mechanical and that is handy. My husband brought in his truck to take care of the emissions and asked that they could also complete the tire rotation and a brake check. Unfortunately, that same day (sat), after we left the shop my husband's brakes got stuck on the road and could have cost us an accident or even our lives. We took the truck back to the shop on the next working day(mon), and after explaining the situation, my husband was told that the guy that was there on Sat didn't really know how to work on drum brakes and they supposedly fixed the issue. Well, they didn't. The brakes kept squeaking. I brought the truck back in as soon as I could, which was Friday afternoon about an hour and a half before closing and was told that it was too late for them to check it and to bring it back on Monday since they weren't going to have anyone on Saturday that knew how to take care of drum brakes. There was no apology and no concern for our safety. We basically couldn't use the truck all weekend and no longer felt comfortable taking it back to them. We ended up taking the truck to a different shop and had to have the drums changed because they were damaged. I'm completely disappointed in the service and work that we were provided by a company that prides themselves in being a family owned business and advertises as part of one of their main services, "brakes". This literally could have cost us or someone else their lives or a serious accident. I will definitely be letting my friends know about your business ethics and will not be returning. read more

As a mechanic myself, it's nice to see quality workmanship, and I've never felt overcharged or that they were recommending repairs I didn't need. Johnson's is a local company, which I always try to support, but price per service ratio is not good. I needed an oil change, and I expect my tires to be rotated at the same time. They wanted to charge me about the same amount for a simple tire rotation as the oil change! Almost every other auto shop I have gone to perform a rotation included with the oil change. The next time, I decided to call big o tires in springville, and they didn't only rotate the tires with my oil change, but they topped off all the fluids in my car too, aligned my rims, and brought me out to see for myself any additional services my car needed. All was included in the oil change which was only about $5 more than just an oil change at Johnson's. Johnson's know their stuff, but they are looking to make the most $$$ off of you I feel. read more

We bought tires from Johnson Tire Service a few years ago and they've been great! We just got a nail put through one of them which made it go flat. We went to the closest tire place and they were sort of a pain. We went back to Johnsons and they gave us a new one for free! They were extremely helpful and kind.
