I stopped by to order their banh mi fries and Vietnamese iced coffee since it has been some time since my last visit. Their banh mi inspired double-fried fries really are amazing and substantial with the pickled daikon radish & carrot topping with spicy mayo, green sauce garnished with cilantro! Good thing I customized my order so that the jalapeño peppers were on the side. The Vietnamese iced coffee is also good. It is heartening to find that technology propels business success from the computerized loyalty program, self-checkout kiosk to the option of following Joju on social media and leaving a Yelp review. Having been a loyal customer for more than ten years, I would say that the Joju banh mi inspired fries, sandwiches and bowls have a unique twist. A nice casual eatery to visit with friends who would like to try Joju's version of the classic fries, sandwiches and rice bowls. They also have a refreshing variety of drinks to pick from. The associates are helpful.

Chose a close by spot for delivery. This one had high ratings so I gave it a shot. I go the joju monster banh mi. Bread was crispy with a nice chew. But there was way way too much carrot and daikon. But overall good banh mi. The crunchy monster spring roll was very crispy but not lots of filling, mostly the spring roll wrapper. The veggie rolls were crispy but it like got no seasoning and def needed sauce. The lemongrass chicken bowl was decent but the chicken tasted a little old and microwaved but you can taste the lemongrass. I'd order just the banh mi next time. They have a big selection to choose from.

I ordered the green eggs and ham banh mi and the kimchi fries. I really enjoyed my sandwich, it was flavorful and well balanced and just a little spicy. The bread was high quality. The fries were pretty good also. The big scoop of kimichi on top is cold, which makes the whole thing cold very fast, but the fries are fried up extra extra crispy in order to compensate. I was impressed that they were able to maintain a crunch despite all the wet, cold toppings. Great spot for a quick lunch. You order on a touch screen and the restaurant is clean.

Fast and really tasty... the green spicy sauce was great to put on top and the lemongrass chicken was flavorful with all the veggies and brown rice! Great healthy option.

I use to order here all the time but have not stop by in a while. During my latest visit, I ordered the Caramelized pork sandwich. The sandwich was fresh and delicious. I know they have bowls but never had a chance to try them so will try the next time. It also been a while because they no longer stamp my card for visits but track via phone number.

Great place for quick, delicious and nutritious food! My favorite is the Ginger Seiten. My family loves the banh mi with beef bulgogi. The Vietnamese coffee can wake you from your sleep. The lychee chillers are refreshingly and restorative good! Great service. Clean seating area. You can order from a person or tablet/kiosk. I've been here about 10 times and will continue to return! The green sauce is amazing!

Keepin it real in Elmhurst I want to root for this place so bad cause they had the best banh mi for me growing up, and the fries, everything hit. Lately just not the same after franchising. I didn't believe it at first, but after trying it twice in recent times, it's just not the same anymore. The boba is powdery and not great..... I would try it again, really want to like this place.....

Simple menu but they execute each dish well! This place is a casual Vietnamese restaurant where you can pick and choose your protein of choice and whether you want it in a rice bowl, vermicelli, or as a banh mi. The sides are your typical pickled daikon/carrots, lettuce, and cucumber. You do have the option to add egg for extra $$. The banh mi here is not to be missed. I like how they automatically cut it in half and in two separate bags. You can easily make that two meals if you don't eat a lot.

Food: The banh mi here are very tasty and fresh. We ordered the classic and the caramelized pork. Both were very flavorful and delicious. I would order both of them again. The sandwiches are packed with meat and pickled carrots and radish. The bread is also very fresh and soft. Overall, these were excellent sandwiches and great quality. The spring rolls are also very good and I would highly recommend them. The menu also includes bowls, fries, appetizers, and various types of drinks. Service: Staff were friendly and nice. This is a very casual spot where you order your food and find a table to eat at so there isn't much service. Ambiance: The place is small, but has a good number of tables that you can eat at after ordering and paying for your food. There are about five small tables in the place. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot!

Vietnamese sandwiches must add a runny egg. Monster Spring roll , get as many sauces. Do you want to dip with. and the beef bulgogi sandwich. They were all very good. I would've given them a Fourstar Unfortunately the person takes. the order is very rude.

I've been to the JoJu at Tangram before, but somehow, I've never made it to their Elmhurst spot - despite the fact that I live closer to this location! How did I miss this gem after all these years? This Elmhurst location is their main one (I think?), and it has more options, which is always a win. I tried the Monster JoJu and their loaded kimchi fries with a runny egg. * Monster JoJu ($9.49) This banh mi lived up to its name - it was huge! My sisters devoured it and gave it a solid 4.5 stars for its juicy goodness. I didn't get a bite, but I'll take their word for it. * Loaded Kimchi Fries with Runny Egg ($6.98) Now, I had high hopes for these fries, but sadly, the egg wasn't runny at all. It just sat there, very much... not running. But, despite that minor letdown, the fries were still delicious. The portions were generous - way more than what I've gotten at the Tangram location - so that definitely made up for it. I'll give these fries a 4/5. Service here was quick and efficient. While there wasn't anyone dining in, there were people coming in for takeout, which kept the place bustling. Overall, I'd give this spot a 4/5, and I'm sure I'll be back.

This place is still very popular and has a great variety of banh mi sandwiches and bowls. They also have a great variety of drinks to try out, alcohol drinks included. One thing to note is that the Yelp check in of a free fried egg on your sandwich is no longer valid. Definitely am noticing a little bit that the ingredients in their bowls has reduced a bit since the last time I had ordered about a year ago. Staff is super nice and patient.

Craving some banh mi, we dropped by Joju for some take out banh mi. We ordered ahead of time which made pick up a breeze. Our group loved the fact that they had a vegan option on their menu which was really good. The caramel pork banh mi was delicious. Their fries were super fresh and crispy. I'll be definitely back to try some of the other options, but a great modern banh mi shop!

I already knew the area wasn't the best looking area, so that part didn't surprise me. But the restaurant itself was something I had never experienced before in NYC. I'm a huge food lover and I'm willing to travel when I'm craving something specific. I've eaten everywhere, from high-end restaurants to tiny family owned spots. But this was by far the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to in New York City. I genuinely wonder how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Since I was already there and hungry, I decided to take the risk and give it a shot anyway. I regret it. I honestly felt bad about allowing myself and my wife to eat there. The walls near the kitchen and bathroom were disgusting, the tables were dirty, and if you sit near the kitchen, you can literally see the staff grabbing basil leaves and bean sprouts with their bare hands to serve customers. No gloves, no tongs, nothing. I was honestly speechless about the hygiene situation. At one point, a waitress brought herself a summer roll, stood right next to our table, grabbed sauce from another customer's table, and started eating while standing there. There was so much going on in that place that I honestly can't even explain it properly. If you ask me about the food itself, I don't think it was bad. But at the same time, I can't give a fair opinion because my brain simply wouldn't let me enjoy the meal peacefully while constantly noticing the chaos and lack of cleanliness around me. I would not recommend this place if hygiene and cleanliness matter to you. This place is unbelievably dirty.

I walked in on a casual weeknight, and the space felt straightforward, the kind of neighborhood spot that focuses on the food rather than the decor. I started with the spring rolls, which are a consistent standout and worth ordering. They came out fresh and well packed, a solid opener. I also ordered the Vietnamese iced drip coffee, which was done well, not overly sweet, and paired nicely with the meal. Portions across the board run large, noticeably so. I realized quickly that sharing a few dishes between two people would have been a reasonable approach, but I ended up with more than I could finish on my own. The pho itself was alright, though I noticed it was not as warm as I would have liked, and the broth came across a little flavorless. A bowl that comes out hot makes a real difference in the experience, so if yours arrives lukewarm, flagging it early rather than eating through it is worth doing. The noodles and meat portions were generous, but the temperature and broth depth held the dish back from being great.

It started as soon as we walked into the restaurant; there was an unfortunate water leak dripping down from the ceiling, right by the entrance. The staff put a bucket below a huge water bubble that had formed in the ceiling, to catch the drips... but you had to walk around it to get into the restaurant. Kind of weird that the staff didn't think of getting from a hardware store, one of those tarps that catches ceiling leaks and diverts the water thru a hose to a bucket... that isn't in the way of customers entering the restaurant. Anyway, we sat down, and ordered an old favorite dish, and decided to try a new one. The old favorite is the House-made Fish Cake Pho (Pho Cha Ca)! The kitchen staff hand makes the fish paste from scratch, with some kind of super addictive & flavorful spices, and I've really enjoyed it in the past. We also decided to try the Shaking Beef Rice (Com Bo Lac Lac) for the first time. Unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The fish cake in the pho looked and tasted like typical frozen type you can get at any Asian market... and was confirmed when we asked the staff. Where's my ATF fish cake?!? The beef cubes in the rice dish were (a) super overcooked (like beef jerky level chewy) and (b) the sauce was way, way too salty. We also noticed the restaurant manager, Ngan, wasn't working that night. Perhaps all these problems happened because she was away on holiday? And Pho99 will be back to its usual spectacular food after she returns?

Traditional Banh Mi: (4/5) sandwich was tasty and had the cold cuts with the pickled carrots. If they toasted the bread then I think it would make it even better. Chicken Banh Mi: (3/5) chicken had a nice lemongrass flavor but overall was just okay. The traditional one was much better. The music is a little loud and club like but otherwise, I had a great experience here. So if you're in Astoria, I would highly suggest this place for their great lunch deal. Can't be beat!

Their roti canai is to die for and their Kari laksa is packed with flavors. They typically also give complimentary tea for every table, which is a nice balance to everything you're eating. Given that it was a hot summer day when I had this, I got myself their milk tea which was nice and refreshing. A lot of people typically come here for their lunch breaks alone, and that alone makes it very cozy to be in.

The service is warm and efficient, adding to the overall comfortable experience. The Hainanese chicken could use a touch more seasoning, and the dipping sauce leans a bit too sweet for my taste, but the chicken itself is consistently cooked to perfection: tender, silky, and satisfying. The beef satay is another highlight, well-executed and flavorful. The Singapore rice noodles could use some refinement. They're properly seasoned, but lack anything distinctive to set them apart. The beef chow fun, on the other hand, is done well, the noodles hold their texture without breaking apart, and there's a nice portion of beef. And don't skip the treats at the counter, made fresh daily. The roast pork buns and curry puffs are definitely worth trying.

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again. If you're in the area, make the stop. You won't be disappointed.
