If you've never had it before- Jolly Spaghetti: sweet & cheesy Palabok: light & savory Peach Mango Pie: hot, sweet & flaky My husband and I came here on a sunny Saturday around noon. To my surprise, there was no line out the door as we saw a few weeks ago passing by. We waited about 10-15 min for takeout. The restaurant feels a bit small inside with the amount of people waiting on their orders and all the tables occupied. I feel like I saw at least 10 employees behind the counter working the registers and food prep line. Considering the hype this restaurant has right now, we got our food pretty quickly. My order took 45 minutes to fulfill. I had to approach the counter multiple times to check on it, but was rudely told that all orders would take 10-15 minutes. Love Jollibee. What ever complaints you will read its just as expected. Comparing Philippine Jollibee to Alexandria is too much. Just go get Jollibee! Service depends on what time of day - weekend of course will always be crowded, wait times varies, long lines because well not just 1 person in line- always in groups of 3 or more. Probably try to get there as early as you can. Weekday - you'll be fine. I go usually after work or around 6pm - im out in about 30-40mins. Going back to the food : Palabok would be a hit and miss - they sometimes sell out pretty quickly. There's no halo-halo and Pinoy Breakfast. If I could give 0 stars I would. After ordering, I waited for so long that I had to ask about the wait time. It turns out they lost my ticket so I then had to dictate to them what I had ordered. By this time, they had run out of mashed potatoes so we agreed to substitute with fries. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they gave us 4 wrong orders of rice (or decided to substitute without telling us?), left out 1 order of fries, AND shorted us a piece of chicken from one of the meals. All that and 40 minutes of my life down the drain. Will not be returning until they pull themselves together. I can just get my spicy chicken from Popeye's lol. Missed jollibee since moving from Hawaii. Absolutely delicious! The spicy chicken is fresh hot and the crunch is amazing. Hard but never too hard like Popeyes. The flavor that spice kicks and make your taste buds crave more with every bite you take. The adobe rice was a favorite as well flavorful. Had to get the double Pattie with gravy with fries. I got the 2pc steak rice meal with 1 side and soda with a bunch of other stuff yesterday. It was underneath the to go bag. As I was so hungry I looked for it while my husband was driving hoping I could eat after waiting that long for our order. Lo and behold there was no RICE! I've been to this location 3x times since it opened last year and the service/food availability has still been lackluster. I understand if it's a new location it might take time to stabilize, but it's been long enough now to have people wait literally 30 minutes for strips and a two piece chicken meal.. Pulled up here on a Sunday afternoon. Line is out the door. Quickly we realize that the entire fountain drink machine is out of service, so all they have is lukewarm water or their pineapple quencher. Their pineapple quencher people seem to like, but I'm not a fan. No notice is given until we wait to get all the way to the counter (took 10+ minutes), and only after we give our order to the cashier, she informs us that ALL chicken orders are taking a minimum of 30 minutes. Really? Cool, we order anyway bur considering within these 30 minutes that my friend might finish her pineapple quencher, I ask if there is at least a refill, to which I was told No... this out of principle made me a bit upset, but I swallowed it and moved on. We ordered 6 chicken strips and a 2 piece spicy chicken. The chicken strips were MASSIVE in portion but lacked in quality pretty hard. These were some of the worst chicken strips from a fast food place I've had arguably ever. I could taste/feel the rubberiness of what was obviously a frozen strip that didn't cook thoroughly. The batter had no flavoring whatsoever and was very bland. The only nice thing was complimenting with the sriracha sauce which made it more tolerable, but overall I ate 2/6 and gave away the rest of these because I disliked it so much. The spicy chicken was another story. Cooked to perfection, very moist on the inside, and the spicy breading/skin was very very good with the perfect amount of kick. If you go, this is the item to get if you're into spicy food at all. Overall I'm disturbed by what seems to be poor management, lack of preparing. They've had enough time to fix their operation and it still is just straggling.. 30 minutes for some fried chicken is wild, and I know for a fact their fountain drink machine was down all weekend too. To our pleasant surprise the spicy chicken was actually spicy which was good for a change, not mild like Popeyes or KFC. Skin was very crispy and meat juicy as well. The bathroom needed a code and was very inconvenient. The one in NY didn't need a code. The gravy taste good but when you ask for more they would tell you to order it, another inconvenience ( where's the pickle ?) Restaurant was good looking and contemporary and it was clean. Their fried chicken deserves a 4-star rating, but everything else we experienced is a 3 or below.    Jollibee is a Filipino fast-food chain owned by Jollibee Foods Corporation. The corporation owns 18 brands that serve a variety of food and drinks. There are over 1500 Jollibee restaurants worldwide and 64 in the USA. They have used social media to effectively convince influencers to promote their products. Their sales growth has been impressive. So, I decided to try their food to find out if the hype was true.    My wife and I got a 10-piece bucket of spicy chicken with 3 pies and a pineapple quencher drink. They allow a maximum of 6 thighs in a 10-piece bucket. So, we got that and they put 4 legs in to fill it. The legs were meatier than what Popeyes sells. The thighs were about the same size. The chicken was moist, tender, and savory. The crust was thick, crunchy, and slightly peppery. The taste of monosodium glutamate(MSG) was apparent in the crust. MSG makes food taste savory. That explains why so many people love it. This chicken tastes very good, but the spices and seasonings in Popeyes chicken are better. Popeyes is less expensive also, about 90 cents less per piece.    The fried chicken came with 2 containers of brown gravy. Each container held a cup of gravy. The gravy was mediocre. It tasted like it was made with weak chicken stock, flour, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and a little sugar or MSG. This is a basic type of gravy that is easy to make and costs very little.    The 3 pies that we picked were a Banana Langka pie and 2 Peach Mango pies. The Banana Langka pie was rectangular like a McDonald's pie. It had a small amount of mushy banana and jackfruit filling. It was mildly sweet with a faint banana flavor. We couldn't taste the jackfruit. Jackfruit is supposed to taste like a mix of mango, banana, and pineapple. The flavor is similar to Juicy Fruit gum. The crust was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. This is a deep-fried dessert, so the odor and taste of used oil were present in the crust. It was oily and off-putting.    The Peach Mango pie was rectangular and deep-fried also. Its saving grace was the filling. It had a strong peach flavor with a hint of mango flavor. It was moderately sweet. The filling may taste good, but the pies are not worth the price. They are high-profit items for Jollibee. Buy a real pie elsewhere instead of this oily stuff.    The pineapple quencher drink had a good pineapple flavor, but it tasted artificial. It had only a little acidity. It tasted like slightly diluted pineapple juice with a light body and no bite. It had a lot of ice in it. It has 43g of sugar in 16 oz. That's equal to 3 tablespoons of sugar.    The dining room and restrooms were clean. The service was SLOW. We ordered at 7:29 PM. We got our food at 8:14 PM. We were told that the delay was due to the need to make more spicy chicken. I have never needed to wait that long for fried chicken at Popeyes, and they are much busier. Their kitchen procedures need to be improved. Jollibee is a fast-food fried chicken shop with hamburgers and some Americanized Filipino food. Their food is overpriced compared to the competition, and they need to significantly improve the taste of their food to justify their prices. Jollibee is probably my favorite fast food chain at the moment. The service can be a bit slow due to the high volume of orders, but the wait is totally worth it. Over two recent visits, we tried their spicy chicken sandwich, cheeseburgers, spicy fried chicken with the adobo rice, the mango pineapple pies, and the Filipino spaghetti. Their chicken sandwiches were just okay - not nearly as good as Popeyes' sandwiches. Everything else was phenomenal. The bone-in spicy fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, with a great spicy flavor all the way thru. The adobo rice was tender, moist, and had little pieces of lechon mixed in. Their cheeseburgers were surprisingly good for a place known for their chicken. The absolute MVP of the meal was the mango pineapple pies - if they sold them frozen at grocery stores they would sell out. I recommend ordering two or even just going there for that. Easy ordering and not a long wait....i ordered the 12 piece Chicken joy meal got spaghetti and adobo rice as sides and ube pie and peach mango pie...the chicken joy comes with gravy that's so good you can drink it! Tried the jollibee spaghetti and I didn't hate it but I wasn't a fan either I definitely can see why people like it. The regular chicken was seasoned, crispy,juicy, and flavorful and I'd give it an 8.6/10 add the gravy it's up to a 9.1 then I had the spicy which I been waiting for literally for years...it was even better giving it a 9.4 without the gravy and because the gravy didn't elevate it as much I'll only move it to a 9.7 with gravy. The adobo rice was really solid on its own but if you add the gravy to it? Magic...7.4/10 with the gravy 6.8 on its own. Last but not least the pie...the Ube or whatever was absolutely disgusting and I couldn't even swallow it the sandy texture threw me off from the start....0/10 I'd never eat or order that again. The peach mango on the other hand was amazing and I don't even like desserts but it was a solid 6.4/10. Jollibee was a Jollie BURST and did not leave me in a jolly mood. After reading the hype, I was excited to try Jollibee. I ordered the sampler, which comes with six pieces of chicken, three strips, a burger, two chicken sandwiches, fries, two pies, gravy, and rice. I tried the sandwich first. The chicken was juicy and crispy but lacked seasoning. It left me longing for Chick-fil-a or Popeye's spicy sandwich. My next stop was the chicken strips. The strips were decent but nothing to write home about, while the burger was no different than something from Mcdonald's. My biggest disappointment, however, was with the chicken. Where in the world is the seasoning? The chicken was fresh and crispy but had no seasoning (no salt or anything else). The batter and the meat were bland! Then there was the rice. How can anyone say this is good compared to the rice options at Bojangles or Popeye's? I got the Adobo flavor, but the meat looked like some type of mystery meat, and it was tasteless, and the rice was not mixed properly. The gravy had a somewhat artificial taste and found its home in the trash. I would give it another shot to see if this location was still working out the kinks in the recipes. I was pretty stoked when I heard there was a Jollibee opening up in the area because the only other times I was able to get it was when I would make a trip to VA beach. I would always plan to make a special trip to Jollibee regardless of what I had planned during my VA beach visits. I would always get the spicy chicken, Filipino spaghetti, and mango pies. All were equally delicious and always satisfied my cravings. When this Jollibee opened in Alexandria, there was a ton of hype hoping the same nostalgia would be brought to NOVA. When I finally was able to make a trip, everything was pretty underwhelming. I'm not sure if it was because I had really high expectations or if something was really different about this location. The food was okay. The chicken was crunchy but admittedly the spicy flavor was lacking. The gravy was a bit bland but okay after a little salt and pepper was added. The fries were perfectly crisp which was a bright spot. The prices here were a little higher than expected which can be a deterrent in the future. I'd say, if you've never had, it's worth a try. Not only do they not answer calls but they also don't state the unavailable items on their website. We came here a week after they opened and still had to wait in their line outside. Thankfully, the line did move fairly quick and workers were very efficient in taking our order. The wait was worth it. I'm super happy to have my favorite childhood Filipino fast food chain finally be in the northern VA area! We got the Chickenjoy bucket treat that came with spaghetti, 3 peach mango pies, and the 6 piece fried chicken. The chicken was still crispy by the time we got home and the gravy was still warm as well. In all honesty, the fried chicken tastes okay and isn't the best fried chicken I've ever had; however pairing their fried chicken with gravy is what makes Jollibee so different from other fried chicken places to me. The gravy adds a layer of extra flavor that makes the fried chicken so delicious. We also got the Cheese Yumburger that comes with a beef patty and their special yum sauce. This is sweet/salty and is slightly on the thinner side for beef patties so I'm not really sure if the price is worth. I definitely recommend getting their Pineapple juice quencher as it helps complete the Jollibee experience. The juice is so refreshing and perfectly made. The peach mango pies are also a must because it's satisfyingly crispy on the outside with a good amount of peach mango filling on the inside. read more

A new fast food phenomenon opened in my community and naturally my husband and I were curious to check it out. We visited their website to learn the history of the business, and found a review by the late Anthony Bourdain. We dropped by for lunch on a Monday and were happy the opening rush associated with Jollibee seemed to be leveling out. We were able to get through the short line quickly and ordered 4 pieces of spicy and original fried chicken, spaghetti, fries, peach/mango turnovers, and pineapple juice. The fried chicken was indeed as advertised...very crunchy. The spicy version was good and not super spicy. The spaghetti tastes like your grandmother's holiday crockpot of little smokies on top of pasta. Very interesting combination. The peach/mango turnovers are really good...lots of peach and mango chunks. The pineapple juice is a refreshing alternative to standard fountain sodas; though they have those too. Overall, it is fast food, so if you keep it in that lens Jollibee is a fun change of pace. The staff are friendly and doing really well for a place that just opened a couple weeks ago. Place an online order for spicy chicken. 12 pieces and a 6 pieces- all spicy. Total comes out to be $50. The 12 piece was non-spicy and 6 pieces was spicy. That was not what I ordered! Bull crap place. Plus the chicken sucks. Quality control is bad. I've called and ask what they can do to rectify the issue. They hung up on me. Poorly run. Management needs to help. I had to ask for a refund and leave to go somewhere and get food to eat for myself my wife and mother and father in law. Very disappointed in how this establishment was running. I came across this place by accident. I came in and saw how crowed it was. I ordered an Aloha Chicken sandwich. It had a sweet mustard type sauce, bacon, and it was cooked quite well, but not burnt. Now I know why this place was crowded at 6 pm. The sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I ever ate. Other customers seemed to enjoy their food. The prices for the entrees were pretty fair for fast food. I will return here again in the future and try items, including the desserts. Sometimes, the accidentally things in life turn out to be a good thing. read more

The chicken sandwich was amazing, 10/10. As for everything else... the bucket chicken was undercooked, fries were way under-seasoned, and there was no filling in our mango peach pie. Pretty disappointing overall. read more

First visit to the new Jollibee. The anticipation for months was huge and today was actually legit. 1pm on a Friday and it wasn't a long wait at all. Ordered a bunch of food for 6 people and had it within 20 minutes, line and everything. The food was not disappointing and the Chickenjoy was definitely a Joy to eat. All these fools complaining about a restaurant that hasn't been opened for more than 3 weeks is crazy. You're obviously going to have a long waiting line, and things like mobile ordering is most likely still being ironed out before launching. Give it a few months and I'm sure all that will be fine. If this is your first Jollibee experience, try going to popular locations and you'll find the service pretty bad. Glad we have one close by and please bring back the Halo-Halo! read more

I decided to revisit our newest Jollibee location so I can give them another chance to make things good and to better serve our area. Afterall, we've waited all this time to finally have them open a location here, so the least we can do is to try them again. I have to give our Jollibee higher marks. There were no long lines like the first visit and the orders came out as expected. Just as I wrote on my first review, I wanted to give the staff time to get the ingredients in the mixing bowl just right.... and this time they did. The wife ordered some sweet spaghetti and I had the Adobo rice and Chicken Joy combination with pineapple drinks for both of us. They did not disappoint and I'm hopeful they gradually improve in time. I am looking forward to them offering the breakfast fare that our Manila kababayans enjoy.. tapsilog, tocino, longganisa and corned beef entrees. I can dream can't I ? tbh no complaints from me. i went on a Saturday morning/noon ish time and the line wasnt too bad. it mustve been a 15-20 minute wait before i got into the store and ordering and getting my order took about 10 minutes or less. I got the spicy chickenjoy bucket and a large spaghetti, they were both delicious! Chicken: juicy and tender. Just the right amount of saltiness and spice. I'm glad I got the spicy! Spaghetti: super yummy, just how I remember it. Jolibee spaghetti is on the sweeter side which I like / is what makes it special. So don't go in expecting a completely savory flavor if you order this. Would come again! Lots of parking -- but getting out of that lot might be difficult. read more

Thought I would give it a try. The chicken was crispy, but no flavor. Spaghetti was decent. I ordered a large mashed potatoes and they gave me a small with two sides of gravy. Would I order the chicken again? Nope. Not worth the hyper. Next time I may try the burger. read more
