Finally got to try the famed Jollibee on our way to Charlotte, NC from Orlando and I was thrilled. I had first heard of this place from YouTubers I watch who rave about it. When I heard there was one in Jacksonville, I knew we had to stop on our way. I knew nothing of the history of Jollibee before coming here or the fact that this place was a staple in the Philippines, even outnumbering McDonalds over there. I completely understand why though. The chicken was outstanding. Better than most I've ever had in my life. I absolutely recommend the spicy version too. The chicken sandwich was incredible as well. It's hard to compare it to any chicken sandwich I've had before because it's just such a different taste from something like Chic-Fil-A or Popeyes but the quality is there without a doubt. The gravy is crazy good. Works well on everything they serve there. The Jolly Spaghetti is weird but oddly satisfying. A sweeter tomato-based sauce but served with savory bits of what looks like cut up hot dog. It looks like something you'd serve in a cafeteria to be honest, but it made my soul happy. Finally, that freaking Aloha Yumburger was just out of this world delicious. I'm not even a Pineapple-on-my-Pizza type of guy either. I think it's completely unnecessary in most cases. But I was in heaven eating this thing. It was just that perfect dance of sweet and savory that I love with my burgers. Filipino fast food restaurant with great service...sign me up! This is my second time visiting this restaurant and it won't be my last. The dishes I tried today was the spicy chicken, original chicken, adobo rice, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Let me start by saying the service was amazing and extremely fast. I'm talking less than five minutes! The spicy chicken was definitely my favorite for taste profile and will be my choice moving forward. The adobo rice was a bit bland tho until I added some of the gravy to spice it up a bit. Now I'll simply order gravy with it every time. My fiancé and I stopped by for dinner around 5pm on a Sunday and it was luckily not super packed. There's only one cashier so it can take a little while to get your order in but the wait time isn't too long for when your food is ready. Those that are already hip to Jollibee, you already know. We decided to try this place because of all the hype on Instagram. When we got to the register we were immediately told it would be a 20 minute wait on our food. We had traveled quite a ways to try it so we stayed. We received the food, it was very unimpressive. I had the spicy fried chicken and Palabok. It was not grand. The sauce for the palabok was decent, but it was not hot so that didn't help. The chicken was crispy, but that's it. It didn't have a good flavor. The gravy was good and the adobe rice was ok. It was lukewarm like it sat all day. Now the tenders and fries were to only thing done right. Which is why they get 2 stars. My son had the spaghetti and he loves spaghetti and was hungry, but didn't eat that. I had to give him some tenders and fries. For $45.11, I expect my fast food to be good. This was my ultimate favorite childhood meal in Philippines. Now that we have Jollibee in Florida, I don't have to go back home or go out of state to satisfy my cravings. I came here around the afternoon and it was packed. After reading the reviews, I believe that Jollibee will always be packed at all hours they are open. People drive hours just to get here and they buy tons of meal and of course it would take a long time I get the order. I feel like they need to make it bigger to accommodate all their customers because it was hard to find seating since everyone was waiting to receive their food. We ordered the chicken joy bucket with spicy fried chicken, spaghetti, palabok, and burger steak as a meal for my entire family. As expected, it brought me back when I was little and enjoyed every bite of it. We also ordered the pandan shake and ube shake. For dessert we ordered halo-halo and the peach mango pie. This time around got the spaghetti and the chicken with pies and everything was very good. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star was because the girl seemed a bit rude at this location but I it wouldn't deter me from going back. Filipino Fast Food? We were skeptical first, however some of the YT videos we watched were promising. Drive-thru service was super-fast and Covid friendly. We ordered spaghetti w/ chicken dippers, and palabok. For dessert we opted for the peach-mango pie and Halo halo. First off, this ain't finger/hand food. No dine-in due to Covid, so we ate in the truck. The spaghetti is not what most of us are familiar with. It's loaded with slices of ham, ground meat, and hotdog. Then topped with sauce and cheese. It's savory/sweet and quite tasty. I was diggin' the hot dogs in there. Somehow it just worked. Palabok is traditional Filipino noodle dish covered in garlic sauce, crushed pork rind, shrimp, and egg. The rice noodle were tender and properly cooked. The sauce isn't spicy but it's very flavorful and doesn't take away from the other ingredients. My fave so far. Sorry, but the chicken dippers were just chicken tenders with a seasoned breading. Very ho-hum. The peppery gravy was nice for dipping. The peach-mango pie was out-of-this-world-freaking-amaze-balls!! Remember back in the day when Mickie D's deep fried their fruit pies? Hot, molten pie filling! The peach was subtle and not artificial tasting. The mango melded well with the peach. Somewhat chunky. Gimme 3 of these and a tall glass of cold milk. Ahhhh. The Halo halo is a very busy and filling dessert drink. It has mung, garbanzo and white beans, shaved ice, coconut, evaporated milk, colored gelatin, jack fruit, sweet banana, two flavors of ice cream and caramel flan. Quite amazing with all the flavors. Excellent as a meal or snack on its own. The halo halo needs time to savor and analyse. All-in-all, this was some decent, but different fast food. I see why it's such a hit in the Philippines. Loved Jollibee growing up for its traditional fast food version of Filipino food and am happy it finally made its way to Florida. Busy as always even at 2pm, we ordered the Chickenjoy with either the Filipino spaghetti and the palabok. If you like spicy food, you gotta get the spicy Chickenjoy, whatever that delicious sprinkling of spicy goodness that is on top makes it worth the burn. I really liked their palabok, which was saucy and they used nice thin rice noodles which made it easier to eat. Their spaghetti is on the sweeter side, but per usual the hotdogs were a hit with my bf. we ended the late lunch with some yummy halo-halo. This Filipino fast food chain - best known for their fried chicken - is the one and only in Florida. The boyfriend and I stumbled upon it by accident (we were actually following the GPS to another restaurant) and we turned around so that I could have a taste of my dad's homeland. This free-standing establishment is fairly new (opened in March 2017) and still super clean. With bright colors and cute little ottoman-like chairs, the Jollibee mascot is strategically placed throughout the establishment. Staff is super friendly and the bathrooms (one for men and one for women) are clean. I wanted to like the food; I really did, but it was just "meh." I ordered the famous fried chicken (dark meat pieces are the only options unless you are trying a boneless option) with fries and buttered corn and the boyfriend ordered the deluxe (meaning they add lettuce and tomatoes) chicken sandwich. Both of our chicken entrees has little flavor. My chicken came with gravy on the side and the gravy was too salty. The fries weren't crispy and the buttered corn (which was the food item with the most flavor) was reminiscent of my elementary school lunch days. Oooohh, I've never been to one of these. I ordered palabok with chicken, and 3 piece dippers with mashed potatoes. Meh. The palabok is just....so mushy. The cracklings are so hard. Overall, it's also got this vague slimy texture that I find slightly disgusting. I do like a lot of pancit, but maybe this particular dish isn't for me. I'm not sure. The mashed potatoes were also just okay. If you like generic fast food mashed potatoes, these are fine I suppose. I did think the fried chicken, both the small thigh and the 3 "dippers," were better than some other fast food chicken places. Our first time at this famous restaurant. I had no idea they were even in Jacksonville. Stumbled across this when going grocery shopping at the Walmart across the street. What a great find! The first thing that impressed me is that all of the employees are from the Philippines. You get that real authentic feeling. Also lots of people coming in and out, makes you feel confident. The food is proteome of the best fast food around. The spicy chicken was my favorite. Sorry Popeyes. I can see myself driving all the way out here for a bucket of chicken. When I describe Jollibee to my non-Filipino friends and other associates, I say it's like McDonalds married KFC. The menu itself reflects filipino food. We eat a lot of random food. Everything just goes with rice. There's also spaghetti, burger steak with gravy, hotdog with cheese etc. They even added American sides like fries, mashed potatoes, and corn. There's literally something for everyone. It's also very kid friendly; my kids love coming here. I think the best part is the customer service. I've never had a bad experience here and the employees are always extra happy. It's a wonderful atmosphere to be in! I'm very pleased with how well their employees are trained in customer satisfaction. It's not as busy as it used to be. Give this place a try! Most of the negative reviews are probably from a long time ago because of how crazy the grand opening was. This place was all over the news when it first opened, with people waiting over 2-3 hours! So I was finally able to try this social media Jolibee hype and I can understand why. I ordered the 6 piece fried chicken half regular and half spicy. I prefer the regular as the spicy was not spicy to me and had a different taste that I wasn't to fond of. The french fries were regular, crisp and golden brown. The mash potatoes regular nothing fancy. Adobo rice was ok, missing something....not sure what. The burger steak was ok, it came with white rice, two burger patties with a mushroom gravy. Nothing like I've had before but tasty. The peach mango pie was my favorite, it didn't have a thick fruit filling but tasty. It is very hot so becareful. Now that the excitement has died down, it's easy these days to swing by to pick up a meal at jolibee. I ordered the chicken joy with spaghetti and a peach mango pie. Without a drink, the meal was $5.99 and the pie was $1.99. Considering Mc Donald's fried pies are $1, I was hoping that it would be twice as good. The drive through line wasn't particularly swift but the employees were personable and patient for first timers, which may be why things moved a little slowly. My order was ready by the time I finished paying and everything was nice and hot. The chicken was fried hard to give it a good crunch in spots and the skin easily separated from the meat which was quite juicy. It lacked a little seasoning and I didn't find the gray tasty or practical for a chicken leg. Given that I like my spaghetti sauce sweet, this version was right up my alley and the pork and cheese were nice touches to add additional flavor. I was looking forward to ending my meal with the peach mango pie. Although I enjoyed it, the pastry was a little too hard fried and crunchy. Once I got beyond the shell, I found the filling to be substantial, flavorful, and warm but there was a strange aftertaste that lingered. I'm glad to have finally made it to jolibee as I've now seen friends from the west coast and now also in FL checking in. We came here when they first opened, waited in line for the drive thru since there were no table inside and it still took an hour to order because it was extremely crowded. We got a box of their famous fried chicken wings, burgers, noodles and peach mango pie. We were all excited to try out this place because we saw other people ordered like big boxes worth of food to go in the parking lot. The chicken was crispy on the outside but unfortunately 2 of the pieces were undercooked (Almost raw) on the inside. We were all shocked and were too afraid to finish our meals. The fried chicken is amazing - crispy, juicy and flavorful. I wouldn't order the hamburgers while they are perfectly edible - they aren't known for their burgers and one can do better at What-a-Burger. If you are an adventurous eater, the adobo rice (soy/vinegar flavoring w/ tiny bits of chicken) is preferable to white rice. The spaghetti is Filipino spaghetti more-sweet than savory - if expecting savory, I would pass on this and get a rice side. It's not really fast food, it's a step above (quality and service). On a visit to Jax from out of town (Charlotte), I had no idea there's a Jollibee here. They have a cult-like status and limited U.S. locations so yesterday I had to stop. I'd heard of their popularity in the Philippines and that they have a cult-like following. I've never traveled internationally so I didn't think I'd ever get to experience their food. Props to Jax for snagging a Jollibee. (A quick Google search: Jax apparently has the 9th largest Filipino population in the U.S. and the lines were equivalent to Black Friday when they opened in 2017.) I was warmly greeted and placed my order: the 2 pc. Chickenjoy with adobo rice and gravy. I also ordered a Peach Mango pie. I asked if I could get one piece spicy and the other regular because I wanted to try both and she said I could. It didn't take long before my food was ready and I sat down to to see if it's worth the hype. The spicy Chickenjoy wasn't as spicy as I expected nor was the spicy flavor really "there", so to speak. I actually preferred the regular version. Both had a nice crunch to them and weren't too greasy. The highlight of my meal by far though was the adobo rice and gravy. By itself, the rice was decent. But the gravy took it to the next level. I even dipped the chicken skin in the gravy; so good! The gravy was *just* salty enough. It was so good, in fact, I got another order of adobo rice and gravy to go for later. The peach mango pie was delicious! The crust was golden and flaky and the fruit filling was just sweet enough without being overpowering. Overall, I wasn't blown away but the food was good enough to certainly go again. Next time I want to try their burger steak and the spaghetti; maybe even the palabok fiesta. I'm particular about spaghetti but I'm open-minded enough to their version. It's so unusual I had to try it, and the building stands out and draws you in! :) We went thru the drive thru and it moved fast even with 5 cars ahead of us, we were out in about 6 minutes. We got: Chicken Joy (fried chicken)- strips and dark meat ( leg and thigh) I actually really liked my strips, they tasted great especially dipped in the brown gravy that came with them. Palabok- pancit noodles with sauce and some shrimp and egg...this was weird..I couldn't pick out what flavor I was tasting but I didn't love it...plus we ate it when we got home which was about 30 minutes later and it was kinda mushy by then, maybe better if eaten immediately Peach Mango Pie- uh delish!! It was the crust! It was so crispy and flavorful, where a lot of hand pies crusts are tasteless and usually get broken off and discarded, their crust with the filling was very yummy! So Jollibee is the Philippines version of KFC. So if you're Filipino, you're willing to drive several hours to order some jollibee and reminisce about your childhood. It's always packed and you will have to wait about 20-30 min for your food. And it is very pricey for fast food. Is it worth it? I would have to say the chicken was pretty good. I had palabok here the first time and I really liked it. Also the gravy with chicken, a definite yes. The Filipino spaghetti is also good. I would always order the family pack and share the whole meal with my Filipino GF, who first introduced me to Filipino cuisine. I think it's worth a visit!! I rarely come to this side of town, but my husband and I made a special trip out here for our "Date Night." I've been so looking forward to trying Jollibee's since before it opened. (2) Not a large seating area, but there is seating on a patio outside and two tables outside facing Atlantic Blvd. (3) Don't let the long lines fool you, it moves fast. From our time here sitting, waiting, and eating, it appears that the majority of people who come here are turned off by the long lines in the drive-thru so they come inside to order take-out. No one gets a small amount of take-out, they get bags and bags. Inspite of all this, the food comes out faster than you realize. The kitchen staff is really hustling. Also, maybe because of the tremendous heat outside, people who come in for take-out bring their entire families with them, so it looks like a huge crowd but it really isn't. OK, the food. We each ordered 2 pieces of spicy chickenjoy, with a side of rice and gravy. The rice and gravy is very good, with a slight spice different from what you expect brown gravy to taste like (so it was both familiar and different). It was very good. The chickenjoy was freaking fantastic. It was nicely spicy, a tingle on the lips, but different than the average American spicy chicken (don't expect Popeyes or Church's kind of spice). (In fact, typing this up, my stomach is growling and I'm cursing the fact that this place is just too far away to drive over for lunch.) I totally understand now why people become obsessed with their chickenjoy. We also bought a small order of palabok to try. My husband is not a fan of cellophane noodles, but he did try it and we both thought it was good. I personally think it might have been a bit better with a little more spice, but that's just my opinion. I'm glad we tried it. My boyfriend had already made up his mind that he was going to order the Peach Mango Pie because it was fyah. I really wanted to try something new to me which turned out to be the Palabok Fiesta with a 1 piece Chickenjoy. I had to try at least one piece of chicken. I remember watching a video on YouTube with foreigners in the Philippines trying Jollibee for the first time (I believe one was from the U.S.) and all agree that the chicken was bomb. The Palabok Fiesta is pancit but with shrimp-garlicky sauce with chicharrones, shrimp, egg, parsley with a side of lemon juice for a flavor enhancing experience. He also got a palabok as well as a 6 piece Chickenjoy to take home for later. We ended up waiting a good 40 minutes for our food due to the extra-large orders ahead of us but we didn't mind. Our pager went off (yup, so busy a fastfood place needs pagers to signal your food is ready), we grabbed our food, and headed home. We made a picnic on the living room floor and he started tearing into the chicken. I started on the palabok. It is amazing! I tried it before adding the lemon juice to it. Before and after, it didn't matter. I couldn't stop eating it. I looked over and at some point he put the chicken down to scarf down the palabok because it was gone. He split the peach mango pie with me but I waited until I finished the chicken and the rest of my palabok. The chicken was pretty dang good! I'd prefer it over Popeyes, Church's, and dare I say it, KFC (still salty with them over getting rid of the grilled chicken but that's another story). That pie tho. I finished my meal off with half of the pie and what a way to do so. I can see why he called it a "crispy pleasure on my lips" hahahaha! Love Jollibee but this place is disorganized! It is 3pm and they're already out of the original chicken. They took out halo halo from their menu. No one is cleaning the tables. The food is taking forever to receive. All you see behind the counter is the employees running around like their head is cut off. What a mess! read more

After months of waiting to try Jollibee and their fried chicken, I'm disappointed to report that it was only okay. My overall experience wasn't stellar either. Went on a Saturday, well after lunch time around 2pm, and waited close to 15 mins in line to order. Once my order was placed, waited another 7-10 mins for my meal. I had the palabok and a piece of their chicken joy. The palabok had good flavor,but the noodles were a little mushy. The chicken was good and flavorful but nothing out of this world. Personally, I think it's comparable to KFC or Popeye's because at the end of the day, it's still fast food. One of my biggest complaints is the service and ambience. The staff seemed completely unorganized. With 6 people behind the counter, there's no reason why there cannot be 2 at the register, 2 floaters, and 2 working food pick up. Instead, there was only 1 person at the register and 5 people waiting at the kitchen window waiting for food to come out. This caused the ordering line to back up and extend into the already jammed packed dining area. I went from standing in line between 2 tables of diners to sitting at a table with people in line 6 inches away from me. The lobby and dining area was packed already, why add more guests to the area by making them wait right next to other diners. Between the packed seating area, the wait, and unorganized staff, most likely won't be back. read more
