Hello all. Today the Wife and i had Wimgs, Shrimp and Fries. Ok first Ill start with we waited every bit of 45 minutes. Ok so here's everything: 1) Wings- were pretty good nice crunch on them with Sweet and Spicy Sauce. 2) Shrimp- pretty good. Well seasoned with a little crunch to them. 3) French Fries- were not good at all. They had what taste like freezer burn on them. Solid choice...I had a taste for a Gyro...and theirs didn't disappoint DESPITE not giving me extra Tzatziki sauce...it satisfied my craving...I also wanted to try the jumbo shrimp...it was decent...I've seen other reviews on this place that suggest they don't change their grease often enough and so can say that I can see their point...the jumbo shrimp had a bit of an aftertaste but they were still ok...their fries were solid too...nothing special read more

Very good seafood. I have fallen in love with the 15 peice shrimp dinner. They aren't Mayport shrimp but the are hot, plump, crispy and fresh. 15 big shrimp can be shared by three people I kid you not. I'm usually full after about 5 or 6 pieces! Have them to go light on the seasoning. Usually they are very salty when I don't have them to go light on the seasoning. I've also had the Shrimp Po Boy and the gyro from this location and they were both very good. My daughter's favorite is the number one which is a mixture of chicken wings and shrimp. My husband enjoys the veggie sub. I personally don't care for the veggie sub because they use banana peppers and I have found the stems of the banana peppers in the sandwich. That's such a turn-off. I would not recommend. I was appalled by the lack of customer service I received. As a first time customer I was unaware that meals did not come with a drink and asked to add a drink once I got to the window. The way this man acted about adding a drink was very unprofessional. He was very rude and unkind. Never showing any appreciation for business. During this pandemic he could at least be grateful that he's able to maintain his business while many are out of a job now. I will not be returning nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone ever! Their restaurant health grade is an F! Unfortunately, I did my research after the fact. Update again!! Each time I go here they seem to get worse and worse. Customer service? Or even just being polite--ain't happening. Management should maybe consider who they're hiring. Wrong flavor of wings on one occasion and on another occasion I asked for extra tzatziki sauce which I paid for but only got one--basically paid extra for what I was supposed to get in the first place! Have to take off a star..... As a new resident of Springfield, it didn't take long for me to find Tunis. Although it's nothing fancy, the prices, portions, convenience, and quick service easily meet my expectations. The menu is expansive--seafood, wings, burgers, gyros, and salads are all on there, which combined with the drive thru makes it a perfect place for take out when trying to satisfy multiple palettes. So far, I've tried their wings, Greek salad, and Philly cheesesteak and have enjoyed all of it (although as a garlic lover I think the tzatziki could use some more!). Also, the staff have always been friendly and willing to accommodate any requests that I've had. I ordered a gyro basket, chicken wing basket and 2 chicken tender baskets. The prices of the food are not labeled at the window. I was charged $45 for the food only to find out when I got home that my chicken tenders were chicken gyros. Tried calling for 20 minutes to correct the order, no answer. Drove back to the location to be very rudely treated and outright refused, citing no refunds. I'm looking forward to seeing them go out of business. read more

Given that Tunis has been serving food in a repurposed Rally's, I can overlook a number of things. I won't mention them because, hey, I'm not expecting them to offer a fine-dining experience. What I expect is hot (likely fried) food to satisfy my cravings. I started with a cheesesteak, but opted for "processed cheese" with only extra onions and peppers. No peppers, but I still slammed it. The Shiek a few blocks north on Main has better meat, but the generous portion of crinkle fries makes up for it. Tunis is a friend of seasoning. For people who deprive themselves of taste, you best ask them to go light, or better yet, get yours on the side. The menu offers something for most palates. You'll leave with a bit more of a taste of Jacksonville. read more

I did not mind trying Tunis here for the first time being that it's been on my list for years now. Today I finally tried it and ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with curly fries for my boyfriend and I to share being that we weren't that hungry. Ordering: The cashier was nice and made a few jokes. We left with the food to get a milkshake from Burger King and as we're starting to eat I told my boyfriend he can have the other half since the sandwich gets cut in half. Well I for sure got the short stick! As Im enjoying the heck out of this sandwich, I am constantly looking down at my food. (I tend to look at my food as I eat it. I dont know why but I do.) And as I'm almost done, I see a 4 inch string of black straight hair sticking out. I slowly pull it and ask I'm slowly pulling it, I got more and more disgusted. It was a long string of black hair that didn't belong to me nor my boyfriend being that both of our hair isn't that long! Confrontation: I nicely asked if they to exchanges for anything if there is a mistake with the meal. He asked to open my box and he seen most of it was gone and rudely responded "Nope. Sorry cant do anything about that. You've ate most of it". I got a little frustrated but didn't show it. So after that, I took a look at the cook and... THE COOK WAS NOT EVEN WEARING A HAIR NET AND HIS HAIR IS BLACK AND LONG. His hair goes down to his shoulders. Never NEVER again will I return to Tunis. Disgusting!! And Rude people! I've been a customer at Tunis a few times since I've moved to town and had no issues. I can say today I found out that they do not accept orders being placed over the phone which I find very odd because your restaurant is in a busy , congested area ... also why do you have a number?? I feel like the worker was honestly just being lazy and did not want to take any orders which I find very annoying and unprofessional. Poor customer service. I ordered a fish and shrimp dinner with a side of onion rings. What I received was 3 tasteless filets of fish, no shrimp, no hummus (although it was clearly in the photo on the menu), two dry hush puppies, and the worst onion rings I've ever had. Seriously, the fries were the only thing that was decent in this $17 meal. The onion rings are inexcusably bad. They're tiny like Burger King's but with no taste or freshness. I figured the fish would be okay, but is truly the most tasteless fish I've ever eaten. The line was relatively fast and the service wasn't unfriendly, but certainly no Chick-fil-a. Now I have seen and eaten with theses folks before in Arlington. That one was good the first couple of times and then went down hill. This one opened at the beginning of the week. I saw something new and I'm on it. This place has quite a few bugs to work out. the staff really didn't know what's going on. It took forever to even order. Then I get to the window and they take my money and I'm in it for the long haul. I ordered the gyro safe kind of mystery meat. It's meat, in a long tube form spinning in front of a glowing heat source. Then they wrapped it into a something like a pita bread with some lettuce, tomato, and a sauce that resembles tzatziki sauce. To tell you the truth it was pretty darn good. It contained a lot of meat that tasted, like real meat. The tzatziki sauce left a little at the table, but the sandwich in whole was really good. I fell in love with the sweet and tangy chicken wings. My husband loves the lemon pepper and the grandchildren found their secret chicken wing restaurant. They would beg for us to take them there every Sunday after church. If you can't satisfy the babies, then you can't win. The salads are fully loaded and super delicious!!! If I can't get a Tunis Salad, then I have to settle for a Wendy's salad. For the price, Tunis win hand down!!! all you need to do is go to the alley that runs parallel to Main Street behind the place. You will find boxes with discarded shrimp shells and other food piled up high. Take your chances if you eat there. But I think last time they had an hygiene inspection, none was found. read more
