The first thing i always think of when i go to jollibee is their gravy. The chicken are decent size and the sides are something to try. I love jollibee but the problem with this one in tully is their inconsistency. Sometimes the gravy is bland and watery, sometimes its salty. The sauce on the spaghetti is a hit or miss. I havent been to a jollibee in a long time..maybe around 3 years because we moved to south sj...but the Jollibee chicken craving hit me and bam I start traveling to this branch twice a week for around 3 months consecutively. lol. I was surprised by the renovations! A modern touch and I like it!.. As for the food, come on... Jollibee will always be Jollibee! Freaking delicious no matter what....Although, no matter how nice the place looks, they just cant seem to get things together. Which is really disappointing because they've got the great food, good or should i say better ambiance due to the renovation, but the SERVICE! Come on guys! When I lived basically next to this a couple years ago, service was a lot better than it is now. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and always bright smiles on their faces. In fact, they were so friendly, a couple of them have become my bestfriend's really good friends up to this day. I feel like the problem lies within management. They are always so disorganized and almost disoriented when I come in. example: They kept buzzing my lil pager thing, and kept giving me dark meat chicken when i asked in the beginning to give me white meat. The person I ordered from yelled at the kitchen to cook me my white meat and I dont mind waiting 20 mins for it. 10 mins later they say my order is ready but it was dark meat, I tell the lady ( different person from who i ordered from) i asked for white meat. She tells me I have to wait another 20 mins. I told her no, the other girl already asked the kitchen to cook it. Then she asks the kitchen and they said yeah they're cooking it. Then she looks for the girl who took my order and scolded her for not noting that I wanted white meat on the receipt. Then the girl said YES I DID! & pointed to the receipt, & the other girl told me "oooh, sorry I'm going crazy" There were instances in which I waited for 45 minutes for my order...for what should be "fast food"... giving me a halo halo when they already gave me one 20 minutes earlier. Another instance when I ordered a palabok w/ chicken and I got a spaghetti instead and when they saw the confusion on my face they asked me "oh, sorry, did you order palabok? We lost your receipt so we just kind of guessed" hahaha that one literally cracked me up, how can you just guess an order? On another occasion, I dined in with my husband and toddler. The manager came out to talk to one of the guests seated at the table adjacent to us..she sat on the outer part of the table holding a knife ( a sharp one meant for some real deal chopping in the kitchen, not just a butter knife or steak knife) with kids, including mine, running around her table...and she kept holding it pointing outwards so that it could potentially stab some one...that had DANGER! written all over it. Dont get me wrong, I love the food and I will keep coming back, I just want this to get the management's attention so they can get their act together!! and also, another thing that annoys me like no other...their tables...dude clean your tables!!! Please! A lot of times there are a lot of open tables that we could sit at but they were just filthy with chicken skin crumbs all over, gravy, spaghetti, used napkins..ugh staff is alright some of the guys are really nice...some cashiers could smile alot more and not make it too obvious that they hate their job & use a more polite tone when speaking to the customers & I agree with one of the yelpers, when spoken to in english please speak english...dont assume that we know how to speak tagalog. We came here because our son said that he wanted to eat spaghetti and cheeseburger at the same time from Jollibee. He spotted this restaurant when we were driving to the mall. We have patronized the Jollibee in Milpitas and figured that this one would do since we are visiting Eastridge Mall, and it is a chain restaurant. This Jollibee is in a strip mall near the bigger mall. Getting to this location was fine - just a drive across the street into a smaller mall. Too bad this restaurant. Our son got his spaghetti, drink, and cheese burger. My wife and I shared a 2 piece chicken meal with rice and french fries. I did not get any soda because I am trying to cut back it and I did not find any ice tea available. A cup of cold filtered water did the job for us. It was great that the drinks are self-serve and refillable. The chicken was moist and had a great taste compared to other fast food fried chicken restaurants. My son said the spaghetti and burger were fine. Portions for the chicken was great but I wished they had more on the spaghetti dish - it seemed small to me. Pricing and service from the employees were fine. It is not too busy at this location compared to the one in Milpitas, therefore, it was quite easy to find a table. Parking was great for us on a week night. I just wished the parking lot was better lighted. It was a darker than what I would have like at a mall. We will be back when in the area again for our fast food fix when at Eastridge Mall. It is nice to get away from the food court at this mall. read more

I must start by saying that this place has the best fried chicken I've ever paid for!! Absolutely the best, paid for!!! Sadly, I am forced to give this Filipino chain a 2 star rating, strictly due to Service and Atmosphere... So far I've been to 3 different locations, one of which was in another state, and experienced the same issues. Went here last night and ordered the Meal A (I think that's what it's called), which comes with 6pcs Chicken, 3 sides, 3 sodas, and 3 fried pies (like McDonalds apple pie, but Mango or Banana Lanka instead). Also ordered a palabok on the side Well the guy taking my order first asked what sides I wanted, which was pointless because it turned out that the only side they had was rice. WHY ASK! Then he asked which flavor, of 2, pies did we want. Again they had only one flavor available! At this point I'm thinking very poorly of not only the worker, but the entire place. So after I complete the order, which I said was To Go, and already paid, the guy tells me it's a 16min wait. I was willing to wait, and did, but you would think that they would inform their customers of the wait time before taking their order?!?!? Anyways, I don't think it took 16mins and they called my order. Well as I stated earlier, I ordered it To Go, and I did this because I planned on eating some there and taking the rest home for lunch/dinner/snack the next day. So after eating 1 thigh and 1 leg I notice that out of 6pcs of chicken, I only had a total of 2 thighs!! Seriously?!?!? To top it off, I noticed they have this 2 meals for $10 deal that would have saved me money and got more food! I paid $26+ for everything but I could have paid $20 and got 1 extra drink, 1 extra pie, 1 extra side, and spaghetti or 2 extra pcs of chicken instead of the extra palabok I ordered. Now, I could really care less about the extra drinks because it's not like I need or want more than just 1 drink, but all the rest could have been another meal for work or whatever! I know it sounds like a total fatass thing to complain about but I pretty much eat out for every meal so saving $$$ and getting more food is definitely a plus/must! You can't tell me that as an employee you don't know about these deals! That $20 meal could have lasted me 2-3 days!! Instead I got a $26+ meal that lasts about 2 days! The final reason for the low rating is because it's always freezing cold when you eat at this location! Every single table literally feels like there's a cold air conditioner blowing directly at you! I'll make this one brief: The San Jose Jollibee is the best looking ones of all the ones that I've been too. Plus their service is fast and friendly. I especially like the feminine looking guy because he is very nice and will keep you updated with the progress of your order. Just one question about this location though: Why the hell is the Men's and Women's restroom on opposite sides from each other? It's not the best feeling when you walk across the whole restaurant to find out there's only a women's bathroom on that side and that you have to walk all the way around to the men's restroom. I recently came here for my friend's daughter's birthday party. I wasn't planning to stay long because I had to go to work that night, but I ended up staying for the whole party. The party started at 1pm. My family and I arrived at about 1:15pm. It wasn't long after a couple of party host started serving our meals. We each had chicken with gravy on the side, french fries, spaghetti, peach mango pie, and soda. The chicken and spaghetti was good, but it was a little bit on the greasy side. I didn't really care much for the fries, but the peach mango pie was soooo goood! The party hosts gave the guest time to eat before starting games. They had the kids gather around in the middle of the room and the kids played hot potato (with a balloon) and musical chairs. They also had the adults play a game where we had to see which team popped their balloons the fastest. We loss =( Next, they had Jollibee come out to meet the kids. It was really funny to see him dance and get his groove on =) He then took pictures with the kids (and parents, including me). He also pulled the pinata string while the kids grabbed the candy. Towards the end of the party, Jollibee sang Happy Birthday with everyone. The host ended the party by passing out Goody Bags to the kids. The birthday girl also passed out her own treats to her guest. Who knew a party at Jollibee would be so fun? I sure didn't! My family and I had a great time! read more

My favorite "Filipino" restaurant! :) Yes, yes, this isn't authentic, but it still very good! They always have tons of package deals for larger orders and even do catering. The cheeseburger - So yummy...in fact, this used to be called the "yumburger with cheese" hahaha Anyway, the cheeseburger, itself, is so simple. But, what makes it so tasty is the sauce that they put on it...think In n Out sauce but x10 better. I don't even know how to describe it--just try it for yourself! Fries - The fries are always so cripsy on the outside and soft on the inside. And unlike McDonalds, there has never been a time they tasted stale or too salty. Spaghetti - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. They always give you a good amount in 1 order. But, if you like, the spaghetti can also be ordered in family size, which comes in a red tupperware container (reusable). 5 stars not only for the food, but for this particular location. The workers are extremely efficient (unlike at the Great Mall location). When ordering to go, I'm always in and out of this place in 5 minutes or less...and then back again for more a few days later! read more

Before I begin, I would like to make it clear that I myself am Filipino. Hell I was born in the Philippines and spent half of my childhood there. However, after moving to the United States, I did not have too many Filipino friends. It's not too bad because I can see outside the biased opinions most Filipinos have with anything related with our culture. Which brings us to this review. Even before this Jollibee location opened, I would go out of the way to go to the location in Daly City or Newark/Union City. It's true what they say, what you can't have you always tend to want even more. I guess that was my motivation in the past to drive from San Jose to those locations just for Jollibee. Even then, I knew my feeling towards the place was skewed, because I was just excited to eat at a place that I last ate at when I was in the Philippines. So finally the San Jose location opened. I figured I give it a shot. What I hated about the Newark and Daly City locations was the service. Just like Filipinos in general, service was god awfully slow. Even the drive through was slower than actually going inside, when I use to frequent the other locations. The San Jose location does not have a drive thru window (at least last I checked). But guess what, service was still slow. I will commend all the locations for their hospitality. All 3 locations, all the workers I've seen are Filipino. Which means, they are overly nice, and generous. BUT GUESS WHAT. I DONT CARE, and so do A LOT OF OTHER NON-FILIPINO CUSTOMERS. Slow service at a "fast-food" type establishment is a big turn off. This is not a 5-star restaurant. It's labeled as "fast-food". I could care less about being courteous. Lets face it, all you Filipinos reading this now, "Filipino time" is a big stereotype, but oh so true. If I ran the place, I would not have the majority of my staff Filipino. Filipinos take so much pride in their food and try to keep it as intended, that it hinders itself from being accepted by people who aren't Filipino. Have faster service and it will be more appealing to the general public. As for the food, what do you expect, its a fast food joint. Nothing to rave about. They have items that non-Flips are not use to seeing, which is a great reason to try the place. But after the hype, this place is nothing special. It is when your in the Philppines when you can get 2 combo meals for $1.00 after the dollar to peso conversion. But here, for the price, I would find myself going to McDonalds or getting 3 huge Vietnamese sandwiches at Saigon Bakery on Tully/King for $5.00. I don't care if I'm Filipino and this is a Filipino chain. That's not going to be the reason I give the place a good review like most Filipinos do. This place is below average compared to other Fast food places. UPDATE: service is still the same, slow. And newer reviews later, others feel the same. Truth hurts, my culture put aside, and just food and service on the line, my 2 stars is what they deserve. One star for the items not found in other competing fast food joints, and another star for unique flavors added in the items you do find elsewhere, but being as its dubbed a fast food joint, it should run like it, and its not even close. The only people keeping this joint alive are us Filipinos and a select few who aren't. Jollibee is only worth it in the Philippines. You actually don't have to wait 15 minutes to get your food. And I don't get a damn if those workers are relatives, we are in freaking America, and did I not mention the Jolibee in the Philippines actually has fast service you expect from a "fast food" joint. So thats no excuse. Managers need to stop hiring THEIR grandma/relative/friend, who cannot cope with the speed of "fast food". pearl m.'s review above is a dead on example of what one might most likely experience going to a Jollibee. And yes dear, the spaghetti combo use to come with fries. But just like other filipino restaurants and business, they skimp and charge a grip. No value whatsoever, toss in the slow service, and that is why all other Asian cultures' food is more successful than ours. Back in college, when allowance was tight, we'd end up eating at Jollibee to satisfy our tastebuds with a taste of our childhood that fits right in our budget. Happened to drive by this location when during breakfast hours, so we came in for some sustenance before helping my uncle in his move up to San Bruno. I mean, what can be said about Jollibee? It's a trip down memory lane for a lot of us Pinays and Pinoys. I think it's funny that I've never seen a non-Filipino person at any of the Jollibee branches I've been to--in fact, I'm pretty sure that we're the only ones that keep these locations open. Not that I'm complaining, of course! You're not going to find anything gourmet or even outstanding, but it's standard quality--and as I mentioned before, comfortable. We ordered the tocino breakfast combo, which includes a few pieces of toscino, garlic fried rice, and an egg over medium as well as a cup of coffee. Well--the coffee is yucky, but are you really surprised? The tocino tasted fine, but I was annoyed that one or two of the pieces out of ~8 were purely fat and/or cartilage. I tried the corn beef pandesal 'slider' because... curiosity! And my mom also ordered a peach-mango pie, which was of course delicious because it's deep fried! Everything was made fresh at the time of the order, so it involved a wait of 5-8 minutes between the initial placement of our order and the food itself. I saw no issues with this location or its service... I'd say it's equivalent to the other Jollibees I've been to Stateside. It's good when you're craving it, but it's not anything I'd eat otherwise. read more

Ok, I'm not a big fan of Filipino restaurants. I prefer to get the food homemade, but I had a serious tocino craving that I had to satisfy. Torn between Goldilocks and Jollibee, I decided to go the latter, remembering that my cousin-in-law had surprised us with a yummy tocino breakfast when he visited last. And, OMG, the tocino and garlic fried rice totally hit the spot because it was damn good. And for $3.69, it's a steal! It's not too greasy and they even give you packets of vinegar to dip the tocino in. I only wish they served it all day so I could have it for lunch or dinner. Jack-in-the-Box now serves breakfast all day, why can't Jollibee? :( I also went there for a birthday party once, and the Jollibee character (whose gender is a mystery to me) did a good job entertaining the kids. They were seating close to each other... Was there really the need to yell on top of their lungs and bothering other people? Are they deaf? Really really mediocre chicken. I'm the kind of person who never eats big meals and eat a ton of small meals throughout the day, and even i find the portions here to not be enough. I really really love their fried chicken here. So juicy and flavorful. The skin is crispy perfection and not too greasy. Gravy is delicious too. Decently priced for the chicken. However, I tried their spaghetti meal with the chicken. Spaghetti was alright, not as gross as others described. It wasn't enough food for the price. $6 for fist full of spaghetti and one piece chicken with soda. Ordered a piece of chicken on side for 1.49. Don't get their soup noodle. Forgot the name. Yeah it's not real Filipino food, the breakfast sort of is, but not really either. Anyway for all the haters, don't think of it in terms of ethnicity and nationality, think about the flavors! The chicken, especially when ordered SPICY is muy caliente and delicious. You must eat the chicken with the gravy or else!! Either way, if you're going to hate, hate on me, not on the chicken.
