The vibe was nice. You must make a reservation! This is what I enjoyed: Side of Lamb chops: 10/10 tender, meaty, nice smoky and sweet flavor, well seasoned. Side of Mac and cheese: 6/10 a bit dry, needs a bit more seasoning, if both of these things were not an issue it would be perfect. Oxtails and jollof rice: 10/10 oxtails were full of flavor and enjoyable. They could have been a bit more tender. Overall the flavor carried it to a perfect 10. The rice is seasoned and a bit smokey and cooked to the perfect doneness. Table bread: 9/10 puff puff style bread. They were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Brought out first and provided with every meal. It had a sweet seasoning mix on it. The mix to me was more for after dinner instead of right before the meal. Dusse mimosa: 10/10 nice and stout. I prefer Dusse over Hennessy which is what was on the menu. Jerk chicken: 10/10 flavorful wings. Jerk seasoning was there and not too spicy. Cooked just right and not dry. Collard greens: 6/10 savory flavor. I am a collard greens specialist and I prefer a sweet and hot profile. Although these are just savory they were cooked to the correct tenderness. Candied yams: 10/10 get blend of cinnamon and sweet flavor. Cooked perfectly.

The collard greens were awful, and the rice tasted like boxed or store-bought rice. The salmon was actually good, but the portion was ridiculously small for the price. The atmosphere was just as disappointing. At 2 PM, the music was so loud it felt more like a nightclub than a restaurant. When the band went on break, the music and videos playing felt more appropriate for a strip club. Then the band came back praising God. The whole vibe was confusing, to say the least. Small portions, big prices, mediocre food, and a confused atmosphere. Fusion Vibes just wasn't for us. We will not be returning.

It directs to an article about this restaurant on D Magazine website. Not sure why the owner has not noticed and corrected that yet. If there is no website then Google should not show it at all. It is just confusing to customers. Second, their restaurant menu is not up to date. Majority of the items under "Les Grillades," "A La Braise," and "Sauces" were not available. We were told by the server that they used to make it in the past but not anymore. If not anymore, again, why the menu is not up to date? Why wasting customer's time? There is a picture of a full grilled chicken with coleslaw on Google. When asked for it, we were told it is a "Pepper Chicken" that is only available during the day time and we also have to order in advance. We didn't see this item on the menu and not sure how customers will know about this item and when to order. Pure carelessness from the owner! For the food, we ordered "Meat Pie," "Benachin," and "Afra/Dibi" chicken. Meat pie was good but little expensive in my opinion. Afra/Dibi chicken was good as well and also came up with a decent portion. What I didn't like about it is that it only came with a bunch of onions and nothing else. No sides at all which I thought was little bizarre specially for the price they are charging. I did not like Benachin! Small portion, expensive, and tasted just okay. It was just a boiled meat with some rice and vegetable curry. Vegetable curry was good but rest of the dish was just okay. I don't recommend this dish. Their customer service was iffy. We were not checked upon in a timely manner. There was a short hair African American lady and her customer service was good. There was another African American lady and she definitely needs training on her customer service and attitude. She would barely come to the table and hardly answer any questions or try to help. Rest of the time I saw her behind the counter spending time on her phone! This restaurant only has bottled water and they charge for it. I may or may not come back to this restaurant in the future.

I think we met the owner who explained the menu, what a genuine lady. When placing our order the menu was very well explained to us. My friend came wanting to try fufu but is not a fan of fish. We were told to order other dishes and they would let her try the fufu (thankfully we did this). The meals were so flavorful; the chicken was tender, the beef delicious, excellent seasoned rice, very good plantains. Make sure to get the watermelon juice! Can't wait to come try more dishes here.

I had questions and she walked me through the menu and options. Additionally, the inside was super clean and the restrooms. For the food I settled on one of the special Spanish stews (something with fish flavors but I forgot the name) and it was good. The suya beef unfortunately left me wanting for more. The beef was dry and with the suya, it made me want water after every bite. I do recommend you check it out and I will probably go back to try other items but will try a few other African places first.

I have not lived in Dallas in a while. Base this review off of that knowledge…read more I have been to Aldeez several times in the past, at their old location. The new location has been several other businesses, over time, including a sushi spot and another lounge type set up, if I'm not mistaken. However, as the new home of Aldeez, I feel that it is lacking the old Je ne sais quoi of the old location. The new location is more modern, but seemingly empty of the Caribbean flare that we all so loved of the original location. All that being said, it took FOREVER for us to receive service, even though we were sitting at the bar and it was not very busy on a weekday. There was no hostess at the hostess stand, no bartender at the bar, and no staff in the place whatsoever from our initial interaction or lack there of. Unprofessional if you ask me! Which demoted this review by one star. All in all, however, the food was absolutely gob smacking. Cooked to perfection and served piping hot, which is what you want of any plate, let alone food from the diaspora. So thank you, Aldeez for not changing your recipes, expanding your menu, and keeping Dallas culturally sound through the years. Bravooooo!!! But please, for all things holy, hire more staff!!!
