I loved how everything in the room was decorated, from the art on the walls to the hanging noren curtains. The food was amazing! Everything exceeded my expectations. My family and I were very pleased with the sushi rolls. The oysters we're the highlight of our dinner. Soo am rating mostly on the ambiance, so it was a pretty hot day at 630pm and I was craving sushi so my wife and I decided to try a new place i simply chose this because of the amount of of stars. So we walked in and the lighting is dim as hell that it makes it hard to read the menu, and the place had no AC on that it made it hard to even sit still. Wow! Let me first say that Jono's sushi USED to be my favorite sushi place in Eastvale since it opened. I frequented the restaurant almost once a week via Doordash, UberEats and at the restaurant itself. However, now Jono's is clearly under new management which has drastically changed the service, ambiance, and quality of food. But I must post about this one incident to caution people from getting hurt. My partner has shrimp allergies and I was very clear to the server and the sushi chef that when he ordered his steak teppanyaki to make sure there is NO shellfish contamination. There wasn't even any shrimp on the dish. But, when he received his order and was able to eat some vegetables lo and behold there were shrimp in the vegetables! I asked the server to immediately take it away and replace because he cannot have shrimp. Well, it took so long that the family finished their meals and we were still waiting for his remade meal. That is when we asked for it to be to go so that we can just eat the meal at home. But when we got home there were missing items to the dish. We called expressing this and said to remove the cost of that particular meal because 1) they added shrimp to a shrimp allergy customer and 2) they didn't give all the items for the meal. On the phone I could her the owner arguing saying no. I told the host that if he does not I will tell others and refute the charge. That is when he agreed to take out the cost of the steak teppanyaki. However, he did not honor our agreement. I had to take further actions. In the end I WARN PEOPLE that this new management for this restaurant cares nothing of their customers. They never apologized nor were they concerned about our welfare. Instead, the sushi chef/owner acted annoyed at us because of their own mistake. Furthermore, because we are darker skinned there was racial discrimination in how we were treated. If my partner had eaten that shrimp we would have take the full legal ramifications against them. Be forewarned on who we are patronizing in our community. The reviews on Jono's Japanese are true. Jono's is small, unassuming and in one of the more random strip malls you'll find. I passed by this place so many times and never noticed it was there. It wasn't until the kiddo wanted to try good Japanese food that I took notice. Oh, and any true thing about the reviews, Jono's makes for good eating. We arrived at Jono's before it got busy. There are like ten tables in this place and during the course of our meal they were all full at one point or another. So keep that in mind! We each ordered three item bento combos. I got the teriyaki chicken, pork cutlet and crunchy roll. The portions were extremely generous and everything was delicious. For an appetizer we had the happy hour 5 piece fried gyoza. Wish I'd have gotten another 5 piece just for me lol. Service was friendly but they get a lot of to go orders but they do their best! "See you tomorrow!!" (IYKYK) Would I go to Jono's again? Great little sushi spot in Eastvale. With all the recent sushi spots that have recently opened in Eastvale, Jono's is definitely one of the better ones. They've got a wide verity of food and the quality of their fish is definitely good. There are a big selections of rolls and they've got enough of a variety. The problem with some sushi places is their rolls all taste the same but Jono's are generally unique. Plus you can ask for "fresh wasabi" so it's a nice little perk. Service here is really good. Been here a handful of times and the staff has always been great. The restaurant itself is pretty small so there aren't many seats. In a way it kinda lends to the Japanese feel. Overall great spot. This location is under new management. The new management does not care about customers or the quality of the food. This restaurant is no longer affiliated with the original Jonos and hasn't changed the name. The restaurant is dirty and the chefs get upset when you ask for modifications. If you want the Jono customer service we used to love you'll have to go to the hidden valley location or the location off of Limonite and Sumner. Pretty decent fresh tasting sushi/sashimi. They have hh prices everyday. I believe until 7:30 Mon-thu and then it ends earlier Fri-sun. HH prices are cheaper but there's only 5 pieces vs the normal 8 pieces, so it's a bit misleading in terms of the discount. However they do tell you on the menu it only has 5 pieces. Ordered the HH sashimi sampler and the fish was fresh as well as a thick cut. Could Lowkey have been two pieces at other places. Service was good and very attentive. Jono's a small sushi place close to home that I recently discovered... They have a really good happy hour 7 days a week... I have been here twice now, and it is pretty good... I definitely recommend going during Happy hour for some good sushi at a good price... The sushi is good and taste fresh, the times I've gone it has not been busy so the customer service has been great... The sushi does take a bit long sometimes to come out... and they messed up my sushi order they brought me something I did not order and took it back but still charged me... They have happy hour from Mondays-Thursdays from 11:30am- 7pm with last call at 6:45pm. Overall: 4 stars but the other location was not as cold and definitely has more selection on their menu. Also, the tables were a little more spread out at the other location. Taste: 4 stars. First time trying the tofu nuggets with the 3 item combo. Crispy and something different so not bad. I do miss the spicy sesame chicken as an option from the other location though.
